Her mind wanders. It wanders and it wanders right back to Vi. Vi who has returned to her conversation with the woman at the counter but who looks Caitlyn’s way every so often. Every so often those grey eyes meet her gaze, dipping into heat that makes the perfect fit between her buttoned-up collar and her skin feel tighter than it has any right to be. “Did you have a good time?” The door has barely closed behind them in the carriage and Caitlyn’s hand is already reaching for her tie, to loosen it. She usually treasures these moments, Caitlyn being less put together, skin peeking out from where it is normally neatly tucked away, glimpses of heat and softness that Vi can never resist getting her teeth on. But today Vi thinks of her conversation and laughs instead, her hand coming to wrap gently around Caitlyn’s wrist. Caitlyn frowns but she pauses obligingly, clearly without even knowing what it is that she is obliging, only that Vi asks and so she will provide. It sends a slow burn of frisson down Vi’s spine, one that intensifies when that one blue eye falls on her. “Would you rather I kept this on?” Vi’s grin widens.

40. I'm not going to pick one because what I love most is seeing what people may want to draw from my work! I've been blessed a few times and every single time it is such a delight (and I've been stunned by your work too! I remember you drew ouran caitvi which was *chef's kiss*)

54. I love the actual writing itself! I love being in the moment and seeing how the scene plays out. A lot of times I start with a vibe or an idea and then I place a character in a space (or two) and let them decide where we're going. I adore writing dialogue too. It's so fun to hear what they want to say and see what they want to do. I'm not sure if this makes sense but think of it as I have created these little models of the characters in my head and I am giving them free rein to go where they please (ish. I usually have a vague direction/mood that I want to hit...)

ohhhh this is an interesting question because I don't tend to look forward too far into writing things, I tend to just write whatever I want in the moment 😅

that said I've been tossing around the idea of a medium length character study of sorts in my head so we'll see. there are no details and no parts to it, not even really any proper vibes (I don't know what arc I want to explore or if I even want to do it?)

I'm very much not a planner when it comes to writing 😂

“Mrs Violet Kiramman.”

Vi perks up instantly. She can't help it. It's been more than a year now but that name, her name, and all it means curls so perfectly gooey warm in her chest.

Cait's eye softens almost instantly as it sweeps over her, the stiffness disappearing from her shoulders, a wry smile going to her lips.

Vi can feel the tips of her ears warming the same way her ribs have, knows a grin tugs at the edges of her mouth just as her hands have stopped kneading.

“Yes?”

Though now that she's paying a little more attention it's quite clear that there's something a little… more to the intonation, a hint of exasperation, perhaps frustration, if she were to be pedantic.

Cait sighs and shakes her head.

“You're making it incredibly difficult for me to stay mad at you.”

Vi freezes. Her proverbially wagging tail stops too.

“You're mad at me?”

“Do you know what you've done?”

Vi blinks a few times in quick succession.

“No,” she says. “What did I--oh. Oh. Is it here? Has it arrived?”

Caitlyn closes her eyes and exhales, long and slow.

“Yes,” she says. “I signed off on the delivery this morning. Imagine my surprise--” she waves a hand and this is how Vi knows she'd been genuinely annoyed “--when Steb tells me that I have to go down to the docks.”

Vi beams.

“Isn't it sick?”

“It is indeed very well crafted.”

“They're the best blimp makers in all of Runeterra. Of course it'd be awesome.”

Caitlyn has frozen entirely.

Vi tilts her head. “Cait? You alright?”

“It's an airship,” Caitlyn croaks after a long pause. “Not a blimp.”

“Same difference.”

Vi waves a hand knowing full well that the phrase ‘same difference’ drives her wife up the wall.

Caitlyn's brow furrows instantly. It's how Vi knows she's caught on. (Sometimes it can be a downside to have a partner whose brain works so quickly though it really just means she has to scheme better next time.)

Caitlyn sighs but this one is more amused, less confused and not at all pissed. Vi can feel her cheeks warming at the dawning sparkle in Caitlyn's eye.

“Mrs Violet Kiramman,” drawls Caitlyn and it is truly, truly unfair how those syllables send heat shooting right through her. “Why, you should know by now that if you want my attention, all you need to do is ask.”

Vi beams.

“Where's the fun in that?”

The restaurant is every bit the same as she remembers it to be, a little too crowded, a little too loud. The lady who seats everyone is the one who’s seen Caitlyn grow from a knee-high tot to well, whatever she is now. Her smile is the same too though her eyes soften briefly as they skate over her single companion. “The same table?” Caitlyn nods, throat tighter than she thought it’d be. It’s been a year. That should be long enough, shouldn’t it?

There's an old record spinning in the background, an almost distant hum; not quite from the next room but perhaps from the parlor beyond, given how faint it is. It's a tune she doesn't quite recognize which means this disc was probably found by Vi.

A soft pant.

Caitlyn's hands pause in their writing and almost instantly there's the quietest hint of a whine hastily gulped down the back of Vi's throat.

“Darling,” she says. “You know there's no shame in asking for what you want.”

Vi's glare is baleful but there is no anger behind it, more of a pout than a scowl, more of a plea than a threat.

“m'fine,” Vi mutters. “You said you had work.”

Caitlyn doesn't jostle her. That would be immature and spiteful and she is neither of those things, the love of her life sunk deep on her cock, doing her very best to pretend this is all she wants and that she wouldn't rather Caitlyn be fucking her senseless right now.

So Caitlyn hums instead and continues working on the report. It is, admittedly, rather distracting because Vi is soft and warm, so goddamn hot and wet and perfectly tight, clenching on the hexstrap like she thinks Caitlyn won't notice.

Caitlyn does.

Of course she does.

But she's had practice; frankly, she's no less stubborn and perhaps hates losing even more than her beautiful wife.

“I did,” she says after a while, pen stopping again.

Vi's eyes light up at the usage of past tense.

Caitlyn can feel the squirm of disappointment when she reaches for the next sheet, as the candle begins to burn lower.

Good.
