Contributors may submit one or more halloween/fall-themed pieces showcasing any or all of their favorite NPCs, OCs, portraits, scenes, or environments from the game.

We encourage all forms of art: traditional, digital, cosplay, music and writing. EVERYONE is welcome to join the fun!

Please remember, YOUR WORK MUST BE RATED T FOR TEEN. This is for the entire Destiny community after all.

FORMAT

Open format. Choose whatever size and resolution you are comfortable with, just be sure to Glaze or protect your work before posting.

Written works will have a text background provided for posting in image format (Click me!). Otherwise, the tag on AO3 or elsewhere will work too.

i saw the very talented @mstarcreatesnot 's void cayde which you should go and look at here! so i thought id try my hand at alternate arc cayde. gonna lie, i like the lighting for the mock up i did a lot more than the final piece. however im going to post the finished thing and give it another crack when its not 3am. but he turned out pretty good

im 100% going to be doing versions of him in the other subclasses

i think my next attempt will be a more cell shaded look like this

doubling down on my destiny rising take actually. it's bad. like im not gonna beat around the bush, the game is bad.

it is very clear that the whole "alternate timeline" thing was used as an excuse to justify the lack of research that the netease team put into destiny lore. basic lore facts are completely ignored, misinterpreted, or straight up changed. the timeline is all jumbled up and there are things the game has you do that wouldn't even be possible according to the lore.

everything is flat and boring and low-effort. the animations are bad and clunky, and the models are... lacking, to say the least. the dialogue is incredibly unnatural and lacks any type of flow or emotion. the VAs are not to blame for this as i feel like they were doing their best, it's more of a script and direction issue. the plot... well, there is no plot. so far the main campaign has just been a bunch of loosely connected miniquests against random eliksni enemies that last exactly 5 minutes. this game has no story

the gameplay is not the best thing. the ui is badly structured, making it difficult to easily look around while attacking or being attacked. there is no clear space for the movement joystick so most of the time you end up accidentally shooting while trying to run. most action buttons are in difficult to reach or unintuitive places. the game has automatic target locking, which makes things easier but also lowers the stakes. some of the character kits don't even work (see: ning fei's clone just standing there instead of doing his damn job).

about the ai issue: i believe the main characters, both playable and npcs, aren't voiced by ai (the lost of VAs for playable characters is public; the NPC one is not but i think i recognize some of them), however some (most) side npcs and temporary bosses definitely are. it sucks. it also feels like the script was ai generated because of how bad and unnatural it is, and I've heard people say netease has been using genai to generate promotional images although i havent seen that myself yet. so dont give them your money please

these are my main issues right now. im still playing it as of today but i feel like I'll drop it by the end of next week unless there's something that truly sparks my interest (which i doubt, because the only thing that would truly do that is cayde being playable, which is impossible as long as they follow at least a bit of the original lore since cayde was rezzed well into the city age). with that being said, i encourage everyone who's playing this (or plans to, for whatever reason) to absolutely NOT spend a single cent on this game. it is not worth it, and it does not deserve it. dont give subpar free games gratuitous money. peace out ✌️

destiny rising will be pulling out all the gacha tactics and be using genai even after they said it was just something temporary for the alpha and people are still sucking it's dick so hard because "well it's not bungie!!!"

when have you EVER had to buy something from eververse or the bungie store to actually progress? every single thing sold in d1/d2 with the exception of dungeon passes are solely cosmetic, and dungeon passes are just additional content that's not required to have...

Who do you ship your OC with? How did it happen?

I have so many OCs 😅

My main OC phantom is shipped with Drifter. (I love my disastrous old people.) They met during the dark ages and had a bit of a Romeo and Juliet situation where they'd both thought the other had died. They reunite shortly after the Beyond Light campaign. They're old, grumpy and refuse to admit they love one another.

Valerie is shipped with Nimbus. They met after the final shape when she travels to neomuna to research their technology.

Aether is shipped with crow. Crow is stressed as vanguard and Aether is good with his hands...among other things.
