THE EVENTS OF THE SHIP SEEMED LIKE A FAR OFF FUZZY NIGHTMARE with sound bites and glimpses of faces that all blurred together , to be standing in erin and tommy's living room sometime later was seen as a blessing . abigail had her jacket in her arms when she heard the front door open and it was no real surprise -- but with everything that had happened was a welcomed thing -- to see tommy , " before you ask er let me in . i'm just here for spreading belated christmas cheer and also here to try and convince both of you to go to a small not-a-new-years-eve-party party . " since everything seemed to fall apart in town when the word party was included in ANYTHING .

dog on her heels from outside erin caught the last bit of what abby had said , " she tried to fly the idea of having it here but i told her no , because of space . " there was only a handful she in truth trusted with their address and she felt it was a push even with the ones that knew it already , but she wasn't going to outright tell abby that she didn't trust some of the roses and she knew tommy would clock it right away her concerns . retrieving the mug from the coffee table she took a small sip from it , " and i told her i'd only go if you went . "

abby turned her attention first to erin then back to tommy . " so you have to say yes . venue still being iffy , but i have a way of making things happen . " she said with a smile and nod of her head .

TOMMY VETER HAD BEEN AT THE TOP OF THE LIST , he'd been gunning it for specs spencer ERIN since their lovely little text had dropped . big man with a little torch for intimation if anything else , dexter had to suppress a smile no need to make the snake strike . OR it could be the RAT you decided to take in . " he spat out the last line as he tried pulling at the cuffs again . " she didn't exactly leave on good terms . -- you should've just tried grabbing paz he's the man with the plan for all of you. "

GANG LIFE WAS SOMETHING HE'D left behind willingly after the shit A had put him through when he'd started dating erin. but no matter how hard they tried to stay out of it, one way or another they were dragged back in. in the back of his mind, after the madness of the 'ship ride' from hell had passed, tommy had made up his mind and decided he'd grab dex for some answers. it wasn't.. his greatest work yet, but he'll get back to top form somehow right? with a lighter in one hand and a blow torch in the other, tommy makes his presence known as he moves to stand infront of dex. ''c'mon, i'm evening the score. i was just as surprised when nazar grabbed me.'' tight lipped smile growing before it settles into a void expression. ''what are the two of you cooking up?''

the house smelled of pumpkin and cream cheese frosting when she heard the front door, there was a slight pause and tensing of muscles as she listened for any sign noise just to relax once erin could hear the jingle of tommy's keys. "before you get to the dining room, i can explain. abs text me out for coffee and we somehow ended up at home goods and now we have some halloween trinkets. somehow. and i make pumpkin spice cupcakes. abby says hi by the way, and gave me dog food on behalf of reggy." the brunette rambled on from the kitchen moving to stand in the doorway coffee still held tightly in her hands. there was no fear to be seen just something that felt normal.

THERE WAS A LOW THROB FROM THE SPOT HE'D BEEN HIT right . in . the back of his head , his hands were handcuffed to the chair and he felt powerless ( a feeling he wasn't used to or overly fond of ) . blue eyes were still sharp as he took in his surroundings trying to figure out WHERE he was . there was admittedly a long list of people that didn't like him and half of it was made up of people capable of actually grabbing him . " you know i enjoy games but only if they're PLAYED FAIR ! " he shouted the last part of his statement at the wooden door in front of him , if they were smart it was probably room of an abandoned house no one in their right mind would take him back to an actual household or place of importance .

if no one answered then he would just leave the things on the doorstep and pretty much run away . it was a game he was rather familiar and comfortable with doing and he wouldn't blame tommy for not even answering he already heard a rumor that the last rose had the door slammed in his face . but he was glad when the door was opened and gave a tight lipped smile and small wave of his free hand when he saw tommy's face .

" it's a gift really to know when i'm needed . " the brunette said walking past the other into the house making sure to pass his offering of a squeaky stuffed animal to the dog who ran away with it rather proud . " if you and er every need a break from your furry child , abs&i are certified dog babysitters . not really . but we're free .. and abby might spoil them to death . " he said with a soft smile , " you guys good ? "

honestly, he'd been hesitant on whether he should've answered the door or ignore it, wanting to soak up just more time in being home again & familiar with the surroundings. but.. it was nice to see a friendly face once in a while. reggy had been the only rose allowed over, not wanting anyone else's company just yet.

when he opened the door, tommy's brows were furrowed at first-- like he'd been debating what to say, till his eyes fell to the toy. ''--thank god you're here. i've lost three pairs of socks already and i don't want 'em tearing through anything else. c'mon in.''

she couldn't help the small smile on her face or the scoff she gave when he said ' it was a pretty sweet gift right ' , " leave to you to say something DUMB like that during a time like this . " she said shaking her head . her eyes were trained on him trying to get a read on what was going on in his head , to say she was timid to trust any mannerisms he may drop was an understatement . she wanted to be that brave sister for not just sammy and bambi , but for connor as well . but it was difficult when she didn't fully understand everything that was going on . " you're a shit . " was all she said initially , of course she was going to worry about him he was a her brother despite everything and she was the annoying sister that chased after all her siblings with a first aid kit and a handful of well meaning sayings . " we'll figure it out , okay ? including where you're going to stay . "

connor can feel the corners of his lips curl momentarily when the memory comes into mind, it– it was foggy at first but he still remembers it clear as day. “i panicked? i think.. if i.. remember it correctly, i was worried. worried because i thought you wouldn’t have liked just one, so i cleaned that store out of everything they had. in my defense, it.. it was a pretty sweet gift right?” nodding the more he thinks about it, just as he can feel his smile start to grow it fades and he feels that weight on his chest. the guilt running through him at whatever he’d done, the fact that he had hurt his siblings and he couldn’t remember a second of it? if he wasn’t tied up, he’d probably be running to the bathroom just so he could empty the contents of his stomach. connor puts his head back down so she couldn’t see the tears welling in his eyes and he shakes his head, but he understands their reasonings– understands hers. if things went as bad as she said they did, he had a lot of making up to do. “if… if that’s what it takes, i.. i will. i’ll stay with.. i don’t know, i’ll stay somewhere.. somewhere else so you guys can be comfortable. i don’t.. i don’t want you guys to feel unsafe at all, you.. you– don’t got to worry.. about me.”

there were things that didn't need to be said for a message to read , it was all the same things that ran rampant in her own head . she couldn't tell if the chill that ran down her spine was from the gravity of everything or the fact they were standing soaking wet clothes . " THEY just threatened me with the idea was dex and paz . but i never saw either one of them . i was -- am FINE ... for the most part . " i was just worried about collette , and holden and the list was rather long with him sitting on the top . " i know that's what you said before you got grabbed . " it was something light hearted and had a small smile on her lips . " then ... don't get grabbed again , okay mr . veter ? "

a brief and horrifying thought that this was all a dream and they were still on a ship like rats crossed her mind . but the way he smelled , his arms around her and the curve of his lips as he smiled was all too real . they’d made it out . the nightmare was over if only for a moment . there were the others she was worried about, but this was more than a good sign . just sore . she didn’t speak for a moment just smile and nodded her head when he kissed her forehead, “ i think i can live with that . ” she said wrapping her arms around him and pulling him closer to her . “ please tell me if i’m hurting you . ” she mumbled . it wouldn’t hurt to live in this moment for a little bit longer .

it definitely didn't hurt getting to hold her for a few minutes, it'd been something that crossed his mind when neval had him captive. afraid that would've been the last time he had seen her, and he wanted to savor this moment. ''i had a feeling you could've. it.. i..'' trailing off when she pulls him closer, the words die in his throat and he only moves to rest his head in her shoulder. to try and cover the tears that had been welling up, tommy could feel his smile starting to grow before he's pulling back to look at her again. eyes are full of concern and its his turn to worry, hand moving to cup her cheek. ''are you okay? i.. i tried my hardest to get to you sooner, i was worried what would've-- could've happened. i just.. i don't ever want to be separated from you again.''

REGINALD SANDERSON DIDN'T GET NERVOUS .

but standing in front of tommy and erin's he'd be lying if he wasn't nervous about whether he was going to be even seen . after the ship everything seemed to move towards the edge of a cliff and led to madness in rosewick , and making sure roses' current or otherwise and others he cared about were alright seemed all but natural . for both erin&tommy he came in tow with some groceries and a toy for their puppy , it took him what felt like forever standing on their porch to raise his hand to ACTUALLY KNOCK on the door .

" i promise i come in peace and not on the behalf of the santos twins . " he announced incase of whoever was home caught sight of who was there .
