Hi! I love your Ethan/Benji fanfics so much! Do you have any plan to write some fics about how Benji and Ethan met each other? And, another question. Benji is more experienced in MI5 as a field agent, but he still has his faith and keeps his optimism. Can you write something about how his optimism and courage cure Ethan's pain that came from his past? And I really want to say thank you for all your M:I fan works, they are adorable:)

I’m so sorry that this has taken me so long to respond to. Thanks you for your kind words here, it really does mean a lot to hear. 

I’ve not really thought about how they met, though I’d imagine it was in passing when Benji first joined IMF (which I estimate at around 2005 ish?). He was probably introduced early on and worked with him a couple of times prior to the events of MI3. 

And as for your request, I hope that this short little thing will suffice - my creativity has been at an all time low lately :(

It was a quiet Sunday morning. They loved Sundays. When they had weekends off, Saturday was their errand running day, their day to get stuff done that they couldn’t do during the week. But Sunday? That was their day to relax. Unless it was absolutely necessary, they would not even leave the apartment. 

Lying in bed, Ethan looked down at Benji, smiling fondly as he waited for him to wake up. He loved moments like this, not in a creepy way of course, but just being able to watch Benji sleeping. It was a rare occurrence these days, with Benji’s sleep so often plagued by nightmares of London. To see him looking so peaceful was heartwarming; the way his eyelids flickered sometimes, the way his lashes rested over the soft skin of his cheekbones and the way that sometimes, the corners of his lips would twitch as if he was smiling in his dream. Those moments made Ethan really wonder what Benji was seeing, but he never asked. 

When Benji finally woke, blue eyes blinking as if momentarily confused, he looked up at Ethan and smiled.

“Morning.” he said, voice laced with sleep that lingered. 

“Morning beautiful.” Ethan replied, leaning down to kiss his lips tenderly. 

“Mmm… That’s one hell of a wake up.” Benji commented, stretching a little as he allowed his body to fully cooperate. “You seem happy. You’re all smiley. I like it when you’re smiley.” 

“Yeah? Well, you make me like that.” Ethan reached up and ran his hand over Benji’s hair, brushing a longer bit away from his eyes. “Y’know… Being with you is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” 

“Oh come on, Ethan, we all know that’s not the truth.” Benji laughed, playfully poking his partner’s shoulder. 

“I mean it. Really. When I’m with you, it’s like… It’s like everything bad that I’ve ever faced, just… Fades away. And it’s just you and me, nothing to worry about or bring me down. Your smile, your happiness, the way you always see the positive no matter what… I don’t know what I’d do without you.” 

Benji’s grin changed into a much softer smile and he reached up, cupping the back of Ethan’s neck as he pressed their lips together passionately. Ethan’s arm curled around Benji’s back in a protective manner as he held him close, never wanting to let him go. He realised, in that moment, that life without Benji had become something that he never wanted to face. Life without his bright eyes or his infectious smile… It would no longer be worth it.
