So, you know how I said I wanted to use Jewel in an AU outside of their original purpose?

I made a silly comic/interaction that has been spinning in my head.

Not even 5 minutes later-

Jewel is handing Hypnos Astro a star sapphire, because Jewel thinks Astro resembles that the most. No Jewel is not aware of who Astro is, xe a bit oblivious by nature.

Xe got said Star sapphire because as long as they have the element in their body or near xem they can basically create minerals or crystalline structures. Which I’m sure doesn’t make them a target for any particular reason.

I can already hear Twisted Glisten going: “nononononononoNONONONONONO NO!” And grabbing whichever twisted was about to be thrown into the pit as well as the twisted throwing the other and dragging them away as best he can from the elevator shaft.

One time, the elevator malfunctioned and when it left the floor instead of the door closing it remained open exposing the elevator shaft. The twisteds were all very curious about this new ominous hole, and twisted glisten had to work overtime to keep these dumbasses from falling down the elevator shaft. Twisted scraps, twisted Finn and twisted toodles were the most frequent visitors to the pit.

To answer @eeevelythhh question about a reference!

I unfortunately do not use references, but I think I can get something that can help you with scale and coloring!

I didn’t feel like drawing all of Centipede Rodgers body as that would drive me insane- but here’s (approximately) how long Centipede Rodgers is compared to Stained Glisten…approximately.

For coloring when I make colored drawings of Centipede Rodger I just use an unshaded version of when he first made the centipede legs with Toodles that a drew a while back, which is here.

Of course Centipede Rodger now has his handle thing tied in a bow, but hopefully this helps you with whatever you are doing!

Anywho, more fanart. Yipeeee!!

I pretty much locked in on this one, considering the first rough sketch was on July 1st: the mere second I decided on this pose and concept (July 28th me thinks) I did not waste a single day and finished it on the 31th (which is a big deal).

Tho, damn, this one went through so many sketch changes that I wasn't even sure if I would ever finish it. It went through hell lmao.

Anywho once again, I really like this (nameless) AU, one of the few Dandys World's AU's that (to me at least) feel closer to Canon whilst also taking its own liberties in terms of storytelling and the Toon's personalities without it feeling out of place. And also, not relying on shock value, or romance, or another franchize to carry the plot. (I'm gonna be VERY CLEAR that I am not criticizing or talking shit about any AU that may fall under those categories, it's just an observation that I made, nothing deep here).

Like-

The concept is so simple and straightforward: yet it is explored and developed in a such a way that (to me at least) sorta subverts expectations on what could be done with that setting. Even if it ain't much, it's still interesting in its own way.

Which is funny to think about because the internal plot (to my knowledge) has yet to be completed and we don't have much other than some story elements here and there and a comic still being made. But DAMNIT I like it regardless.

Anyways yeah, that's all for now. I just wanted to yap about something I like, get used to it lmao. Have a good day.

Sidenote I recently noticed that the pink was way too saturated in the previous Stained Glisten drawing and also I forgot to colour in something. Hoooowww did that even happen??????

Oh how much I love Jewel’s design so much that I sometimes wish to claim them as an OC not connected to a ship so I can place them in other peoples AU’s…oh how badly I wish to do that…

Anyways, time to go back to working on that comic where something bad happens to Twisted Vee!

What does Poppy think of Glisten’s state

I’m assuming you’re talking about Stained Glisten for this ask.

At the beginning, like many toons, Poppy was extremely worried about the possibility of Stained Glisten snapping, so she both wanted him to have company but also was more than willing to pass him off to any other toon like some sort of hot potato.

Later on, like she was one of the first toons to actually start treating Stained Glisten like his own toon other than Glisten (who was still internally struggling at this point, Scraps, Goob, and Toodles, she actually could empathize with Stained Glisten’s lack of self confidence, so she tries to use his optimism to cheer him up and make him more comfortable!

Stained Glisten is still very confused and not sure if she’s being genuine or not, but he appreciates that she’s no longer that scared of him and is willing to be around him.

If you were talking about another Glisten, then you’re going to have to specify, hope this answers your ask!

Honestly?

I live for this. I’m so happy you like my designs! I try put a lot of effort and thought into them!….hence why Twisted Vee’s hasn’t been done yet…Ehem.

I did want to keep the twisted aspects of them because well…I think changing that much would make it nearly impossible to “turn back” into who you once were, no matter how much you try. You can’t bring back something long dead, trying to fit a “perfect” past version will never truly feel right.

Fun fact! technically the wounds on Stained Glisten hands and around his waist are healed and completely filled in with ichor, so it’s like part of his normal body but blackened! He doesn’t need the bandages!…Stained Glisten struggles with processing that he’ll never be the same again…he knows it to be fact but it’s still hard to believe, so lies to himself that maybe if he heals just a bit more than he’ll be “normal”

Plus! I think there’s something interesting about a character who has been fundamentally changed and while they are not the same as before it’s still them. And that’s something that those around them and themselves have to respect and accept, though for some they definitely get the memo much faster than others.

No, this totally has no deeper symbolism behind it that may or may not apply to all the twisteds (including Dandy) in this situation at all! totally. 

Also, I love reading people’s rants. It genuinely brings me joy to know people like what I create. Plus it helps me stay motivated.
