#artfight#dnd#firbolg#sonat fay the wizard farmer#<- that’s his tag now#I forget how much of the lore I create while drawing#when I started this I knew that he was a high level chronurgy wizard who lived as a farmer#and now I’ve discovered that he’s part of some underground resistance/rebellion movement and took wizard classes to get close -#- to some important person. who he stole some artefact from and then had to go into hiding#he’s even had to go no contact with his husband to keep them both safe#he started as a one-shot pc and now I want to play him in a long term campaign >:)#edit: the shaggy yak is called faith though I might change it to fairy :)

my baby doesn't belong to any white man

North of North is about a young Inuk woman who gets sick of her narcissistic husband's macho BS and moves in with her single mom. that... probably makes it sound like one of those shows, doesn't it.
well, maybe it is, maybe it's not (it's not). while Siaja (Anna Lambe, gorgeous, absolutely stunning) runs around trying to put her life back together and find herself (but first find and hold down a job and learn to coparent with her almost-ex - yeah of course she has a kid, she's 26!), there is life happening all over place in the tiny Nunavut town. Ice Cove is the kind of tight-knit community where your people won't leave you alone - but they also won't leave you alone, you know?

the show doesn't preach, but while you're laughing, it still quietly, casually shows you how colonialism doesn't really end.
how it lingers.
here's your white mayor. here's your language being slowly forgotten and now you need a translator to understand your elders. here's your town's lack of funding and what it gets it has to fight for (and how do you fight for it when there's another town (the Shelbyville to your Springfield, the Woodbury to your Stars Hollow) that even has a sushi place?). here's a French Canadian man who calls you Snocahontas. here's your mother's self-sabotaging old trauma.

*sigh* fine, there's also walrus dick baseball. if anything, watch it for the walrus dick baseball

i'm thinking of shapeshifter characters who transform into animals/creatures to better suit comforting situations a la "being held and pet as a cat" type stuff but super unconventional choices are involved. i'm talking things like otters and penguins and w/e
their friends are obv endeared by their close friend but DEAR GOD can you be normal ONCE. you came and asked for scritches which of course is fine but i am WRITING A REPORT and your SQUEAKING is REALLY LOUD

One of the ballsiest things Tolkien ever did was write 473k words about some hobbits called frodo, sam, merry, and pippin and then write in the appendices that their names are actually maura, ban, kali, and razal.

Saw your tags and YES OFC. I love your art style, and im honored you made the choice to follow me. I was SHOCKED
Thank you!!! I really love the ideas you’re playing with and I’m looking forward to seeing where you take them!
Regarding my own ideas … y’know how I said I’ve already got a number of Four Swords AUs projects to complete and that this would be something to get around to eventually? Well, my brain decided to ignore all of those:
For those not in the know, demon-nayra shared an awesome idea earlier this week that essentially boils down to Vio, Red, and Blue being directly tied to the Four Sword and being the same characters in both Four Swords games (this is demon-nayra’s original post about it). My brain grabbed the idea with both hands and ran head-first into another AU, which I’m going to call “Goddesses AU”.
In the Goddess AU, Green is Link, Hylia’s chosen hero. Vio, Red, and Blue’s spirits have been tied to the Four Sword by the Golden Three, so when the Four Sword is drawn, they’re released to assist Hylia’s chosen hero. Each of them is tied to one of the Golden Goddesses: Vio to Farore; Red to Din; and Blue to Nayru (I recognise the irony of Blue being tied to the Goddess of Wisdom, but I think it’s really, really funny). Whether they were created by the Goddesses or whether they were regular Hylians once is unknown—all they know is that when they defeat Vaati for good, they’ll be released to live out the rest of their lives like regular Hylians.
Back during FS (as opposed to FSA), they assumed they would be released once this particular adventure was completed, and were making preparations accordingly—Vio was setting up to study and research, while Red got engaged. Blue didn’t have any particular plans, but would have been happy to travel. An amount of their character development happens during this adventure. At the end, however, instead of being released, they were locked back into the Four Sword again.
When FSA occurs, they’ve been locked in the Four Sword for centuries, but for them it’s only been the blink of an eye. They emerge, and at first they mistake the new hero for the previous Green. Then they realise what’s happened. Red especially is deeply distraught—not at anyone in particular, but grieves losing a person he loved and had prepared to spend the rest of his life with. Vio and Blue both get a bit protective of him, in their own ways: Vio tries to distract him, while Blue tries to fend off anyone or anything that might hurt him further (physically AND emotionally) and argues with the Goddesses. The new hero (who gains the name Green) has no idea what’s going on and tries to get everyone to focus on the task at hand.
Idk how much of this I’ll write, but I had a lot of fun redesigning the characters! (Not convinced by Vio though …) Regarding the designs, I drew inspiration from Din and Nayru in the Oracle games for Red and Blue. I really like the parallel of the Goddesses having stand-ins in at least two of the timelines, so using concepts and symbols from Din and Nayru’s designs felt like a good approach. I’m also very tempted to say that Red’s a good dancer and that Blue plays the harp (when nobody is listening, of course).

Spin this wheel first and then this wheel second to generate the title of a YA fantasy novel!
(If the second wheel lands on an option ending with a plus sign, spin it again)
Share what you got!
#''curse of forbidden wayward blowjobs with an excess of vengeance'' this sounds terrible i desperately want to read it#(assuming i understood the second wheel correctly and that '+' meant 'spin again' of course)

Over time 90s music will get boiled down to just cheap nostalgia for boy bands. This is disgusting. How dare you erase the year where everyone was inexplicably super into Gregorian Chants

that some people respond to any well-foreshadowed reveal with “ugh that plot twist was so predictable” proves bad faith criticism has rotted their brains to the point they think it’s bad writing if they can correctly identify information the writers were intentionally giving them

Lmao the fellowship with all your designs for the different races and Boromir just being a Guy(tm) and trying not to look any of them in the eyes because he's terrified (especially of Legolas BECAUSE he doesn't have eyes). Probably why he likes the hobbits so much bc they look relatively normal. ((Aragorn not withstanding bc he grew up around creepy masked Elves and is still weird like them))
Hahahaa I love this! Boromir was definitely sweating bullets when the Fellowship lined up for their photoshoot at Elrond's council lololl (also, unofficial height chart hahaa I do have an actual official chart I'm currently working on! XD)
Also, your comment about Aragorn gave me the idea that Elrond carved a mask for him in his childhood, just to help him feel more included among the Elves :''') Thank you so much for the ask, anon! <333
