Literally one week away until the United Airlines NYC Half! This will be 7th half marathon, which hopefully will be a lucky one for me! 🤞 I did my training for a this a little bit different than normally by focusing more on speed runs and hills on a weekly bases, one short recovery run, and finally a long run to cap off the weekend. Despite the harsh wind today, it seems like training has paid off more than what I expected. The whole weekend was my last push for it all so I can taper down now starting tomorrow. These past couple of weeks for training has been slightly tiring, but glad quite a bit of progress has been made. ❤️ New decade, new running experiences! ❤️ . . After memorable holidays, it’s time to start back into training for my next half marathons, which are the 2020 United Airlines NYC Half and the 2020 One America 500 Mini Marathon! There’s no better way to kick off with a great start than by completing the first virtual 5K race of 2020! 💪🏻 . . This year, I will “try” to do less races in order to prevent from burning out and have an injury again. Instead, I would like to transition into other priorities I have in mind for this year, including to hopefully become a mentor for newer runners. I still have a lot to learn about running, but one of my enjoyments I’ve had with running was it’s ability to become inspired and motivated by another runner’s stories, experiences, or even just watching them run. After being inspired by one, it’s now my turn to try and do the same for others. I have some great stories to share that’ll hopefully keep them motivated when the distance might get difficult. 🏃🏻‍♀️ . . After taking the break that I didn’t want but needed, I’m very pleased to say that that there’s no more pain! I have a feeling 2020 is gonna be a great year running strong. The weather in the Midwest has been amazing these last couple of days, so it would’ve been unfortunate for me if I didn’t take advantage of it. Late Night Post💕 . . My hip hasn’t quite fully healed still and was having the flu about a month. X-rays will be done tomorrow to see what’s going on and what else I can do at this point. Definitely not going to give up & hope everything comes out well!
