Horror! Colonists Attacked! State of War Declared!

On the planet of Surilia, a desert world meant for our kin, exists a species of subservient aliens who have been - for some time - tending our fields, cooking our food, and generally helping our rule over the planet. They are known as the My'hram to us and had a name for their kin before we entered their lives. When we arrived in Surillia, we found them wanting leadership and a purpose in the galaxy. We have given that to them and more, they are much healthier than when we found them and have been given a better education than they could have imagined before our arrival.

Their culture sees us as holy beings, descending from the stars to improve their lives. This is, of course, a great burden placed upon our kind, but we do not refuse burdens and have taken this mantel - the colonists treating their My'hram as a folk to be led and protected. They, in turn, treat us as their holy defenders. A strange predicament, but not one that we would try to change.

Eventually, though, some of the My'hram began to note that their Holy Masters, as they refer to us, have different rules and different punishments in their realms. This is, apparently, a large theological issue. The Federal government was soon told about this and began to work on a standard set of rules for this planet, to maintain our role as the native's holy rulers.

The rules were soon decided and delivered to each farmstead and city by an "Archangel" - Senator Jypa 'Tasov, who is from Surilia - with a theological reason for the change. This settled most of the problems that the My'hram had, in all parts of the world except for one.

On the Grand Plateau, which stretches for thousands of kilometers and holds a population in the millions, the My'hram were not accepting of the Archangel's new rules. They rallied, denying our rightful rule, and were subjected to the punishment that we decided for them - the removal of vocal cords. The leaders of the rallies were the ones subjected to that, the masses were allowed to return.

This was a mistake. Days later, the main administrative building came under attack by a group of My'hram. Later that day, a general revolt of the species occurred, killing many of our peaceful colonists brutally. The local militia was called up and was able to contain their massacres to the rural portions of the Grand Plateau, the cities and major estates being in the Republic's hands.

The colonists called upon the Federal Government to aid them in quelling this.

The President of the Republic, Ra'daan, soon declared a State of War on the planet, mobilizing an army and a naval group to head to the planet and deal with the rebellious natives. Their armor had been modified to look more divine to the My'hram and have been given the task of retaking the territory from them while handing out the proper punishment for such a crime. In this case, that punishment is a sacrificial death.

As I write this, many thousands of the My'hram have been captured, ready to meet their end, with many more still in open revolt. Our tools will allow us to know which of the My'hram did not kill or speak out against our kin to ensure that only the guilty are punished.

Readers, know this, I will be at the Temple of the Grand Plateau when the day of punishment occurs and will give you a first-hand account, instead of this poor excuse of journalism.

A Union Research Vessel "The Observant" has gone missing! The ship and its crew set out not long ago to begin a five year mission beyond fringes of explored space in the south of the Eastern Quadrant, in the Outer Disc. They only just began yet their surveys yielded wonderful results and their team shows much promise.

The Ministry of Communications has shared some records. They reported that The Observant was entering the space near the @thylakindustrial on a routine survey mission. And a day later, the MoC received a broken transmission. Only a small piece of the transmission could be cleared up, and here it is.

It's clearly a hostile vessel firing on The Observant, but the ship remains unidentified. This transmission fragment prompted the IDA and the CBI to take over investigations and after a few days of failed attempts to contact The Observant, they contacted the Thylak government. Believing The Observant's comms were damaged and weakened, they hoped that the Thylaks might pick up The Observant's broadcasts. Unfortunately, our Thylak friends have been unable to contact them either.

While IDA and CBI investigations are still ongoing, we citizens can make our own effort to help. The following is the bridge crew of the Observant, and their pet "Blob".

The details for the rest of the ship's crew will be attached, but there are approximately fifty Union citizens missing in unexplored space. Citizens, if you see their crew turn up on a border outpost, or you're somewhere out there and you ping The Observant, please inform the IDA and the CBI.

| This platform brings good news about the progress on the orbital-habitat 'Oegvann'. The foundation of the ring had been completed and laid with soil recreated from our records on the homeworld. Gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon oxide, were introduced to serve as base for the biosphere, making the atmosphere breathable. By all means, the habitat can now be walked on without hermetic suits. | Calculations have been made for the gyration of the orbital-habitat itself and its revolution around the parent star, so that the latter represents an orbit similar to our homeworld's. It corresponds perfectly with Vegva's 472-day-long cycle and is in sync with the Arkship's environment emulators. The whole of the hull is also protected from cosmic radiation and solar winds by anti-nucleic magnets arrayed throughout, with additional shielding modules against space debris and asteroids.

Greetings citizens of the Union and beings from beyond! Welcome to Union News Central, I'm your host Bluglakkag Flublabbak. Hello! This is the recent news! ::3

In the news today, the new craze spreading across the Union, the little amoeba pets that've been affectionately named Adoroebae! If you don't have one, you probably know someone who does, so here's the scoop!

The cute little critters were discovered on Feforyana, also known as Vesrun Prime. And since their discovery, they've spread throughout the Union. Why? Because they make great pets, of course!

Though amoeba's usually aren't too smart, the nucleus of an Adoreoba is particularly large and complex. That allows them some basic pattern recognition, the ability to bond, and show affection! Best of all? Adoroebae are very low maintenance! They're omnivorous but can't digest chitin so they don't good feeding them mushrooms or some insects, and they only undergo mitosis when they're particularly large and well fed.

So, if you don't want a litter of Adoroebae, don't overfeed your pet!

Fun fact! Though they're naturally green, you can safely and harmlessly pierce the cell membrane with a needle and inject food colouring to make them any colour! This doesn't harm them at all, and they don't even notice the change.

We go now to the citizen who discovered the first Adoroeba, Galdrig den Aramik!

Yes, Galdrig, welcome! So, how did you discover these cute little amoebae?

"Ah! Thanks, Bluglakkag! Well, I was just gatherin' spores from the ruins, to diversify the shroom crops on my family's farm, y'know? When I saw one them squeezin' through cracks in the concrete! It popped right out and then jumped on a Radrat! I was like nuh way!"

Oh my! What an entrance!

"Ya-huh! I saw it weren't interested in the shrooms so I figured it'd be good to keep back at the farm, stick it in the basement, cut down on usin' pesticides, and what do you know, the farm's been greener since. That could be the radioactive barrels... still gotta clean those up. Anyhoo! Word got out and next thing you know, every farmer's got some. And I guess other people started keepin' them cause they're cute?"
