noahdemos:
noah spent most of his days alone. he didn’t know if it was necessarily by choice or if it was the lifestyle that was handed to him. at camp, he had always had his best friend by his side, so the past two years here had been difficult. the campers were mostly younger, and nobody ever really wanted to befriend the scary, old, son of zeus. he had heard a rumor about himself that he electrocuted people who got too close to him — which had made him laugh, because he never electrocuted people. usually. he had been standing on the dock of the lake, arms crossed and eyes focused on the horizon. the sun was setting and noah had been wishing that he wouldn’t be lonely anymore. he hated the empty space that was supposed to be filled with his friend, and he hated that nobody wanted to fill it because he pushed them away. he turned at the mention of his name, a bright smile lighting up his face at the sight of an old friend. he didn’t know how long it had been since he’d seen finnley, but he was sure he was probably still a lanky, awkward teenager. “finn — hey! i should be asking what you’re doing here. not saving the world from dangerous monsters?” he joked, shaking his head, unsure if he should hug her or not. “uh, he passed, a couple years ago.” he managed to explain. it still sucked to say it out loud, but he had to do it. the more he said it, the easier it became.
finn held very ( very ) few men in her life that she held close as friends. noah just happened to be one of them. she’d been on a few of those trails with him and his best friend, she’d taken more a liking to the son of zeus than she did to the other. not that it had been anyone’s fault, she rarely let people into her walls and preferred to shove them hard and fast away from her. he’d been patient and honest with her, letting her come to him for friendship and she found over the many years of his awkward teen years- she’d made a trusting ally. “i’m sorry to hear that, noah.” she drawls, crossing her arms over her chest. her life left her pretty secluded from the rest of the world, her major focus being on the current task at hand. but her time at camp left her with free time and relaxation.
“order to relax. a little counter productive if you ask me, but here i am.” she opens her hands, palm to the sky. a swing of her hand, as if showing him she’s here and this is about it. even her silver bow and arrows, the bronze knives, they were back in the cabin and far away from her.

“one stray arrow. though i’m pretty ace with a sword. not as good as a huntress though.” he smirked, nodding to her and relaxing his bow. “i just don’t want artemis coming for my head. that’d be one fight my father would not have my back in.”
“hunter. my title is hunter.” she was always touchy about it. her title was clear, while it was meant to be for a man, artemis had made it clear her loyal hunters were just as good ( if not better ) than any man. “she would leave it to us, no reason for her to step in when it’s clearly something we can handle.” an look up and down, she tries to assume who his father might be. “and who is that exactly?”

“AND THAT IS WHY you never challenge an engineering major to a game of JENGA!” Is she grinning? Yes. Is that the first time she’s laughed like this since being dropped off at the camp? Yes. “You want to go for best two out of five?”
finn isn’t exactly mad, she’s kind of laughing and grinning as well with the other. “okay okay, you were right. i can admit that i totally lost that.” the southern accent thicker with her lifted mood. “fine, i’ll do another round. but we’re going to play a game of truth or dare with it.” the hunters played it often, a way to pass the time on travels with artemis. sometimes they could get their matron god to play along as well. “i’ll set it up if you hit me with my first dare.”

@noahdemos
she had not expected to see him, she had not thought he’d still be around. last she heard, he was doing great things and living the mortal life. “what are you doing here?” she asks, approaching the son of zeus. she dressed in her simple all white casual wear, her weapons no where to be found. it meant she was resting, taking a few days to recoup ( under the orders of artemis of course ). “noah, what are you doing here?” he looked so much older, like a young man instead of the teenager she’d seen him as last. scars littered his skin that she could see, looking more like a warrior than last time. of course she’d been in and out of camp since before he was born but when he’d arrived, she’d taken a friendship with him. while her sisters urged her not to, told her it was too close to falling out of line, she’d been very careful to keep a distance from him. he was young, it had been easy. to her, he would always be a kid. “where’s your- what’s his name? you two are usually attached at the damn hip.”

finn knew his face by passing, not having the time to truly sit and talk with the demi-god. him and his sister had been here for years, they’re one of the rare kids that stayed through the year and not just for the summer. it wasn’t uncommon to find him quietly watching something, sitting with what looked like overly colorful plants around him. she sat a little away, head turned to watch him before giving him a nod. “what’s your name, kid?”

Luke couldn’t help but snort, shaking his head as his hands continued to move and flex, now at his sides. “Who do you go after first, though, y’know? The personal demons or the ones you got cursed with because your parents decided to fuck some mortals. It’s fucked up, y’know? We didn’t ask for this shit.”
she remembered a lesson taught by one of the now gone hunters and she gave him a quick glance before shrugging. “personal demons. you can’t fight for others if you’re still battling for yourself. you’ve gotta be selfish to make a difference sometimes.” she scoffed, shaking her head. “i can’t exactly relate to that. i did ask for this.”

“Just hear me out, okay.” He was clearly in no state to be making any sense. His hands were in constant movement as he spoke, his feet rocking back and forth. “What happens when like, we’ve got these fuckin’, like, huge ass monsters and shit but also, y’know, we’ve got real monsters to fight. Like, real world monsters and shit. What’s up with that?”
“both of them are very real monsters,” she said with a look in his direction. his shaking hands and shifting feet, finn knew the signs well but his choices were his own to make. he’d be no hero, nothing to even give a sword to. “go home, kid. and sleep whatever you’ve got off. you’re actin’ a fool.”

“Yeah— you might wanna watch out…” Nick tucked his long, blonde hair behind his ear as he ran over to retrieve an arrow stuck from a tree. The same arrow that missed the person’s head by a couple inches. “Did I get you?” His brows furrowed as he looked around for any sort of cut. “Maybe it’s not the best idea to walk right through the training arena.” He suggested with a smirk.
her own bow slung on her back, she stopped and looked over at him with a laugh. “you couldn’t hit the broad side of a fifty foot barn.” she eyed the arrow with a curious eye before looking back at the blonde male. “i know very well where that arrow was aimed at, i’m not in danger walking through here.”

you’re telling me willa holland joined the artemis ( huntress ) cabin ? no way, that had to be finnley harper ! they’re that twenty five year old who hails from memphis, tennessee, the broken bird they were talking about in the dining hall ! she said they were most looking forward to archery and training.
finnley prefers the name finn and has for years.
she says she’s 25 but she’s really somewhere around 60 years old. horrah for being immortal, thanks mom !!
she’s a little hardcore but she’s only that way after some serious trauma okay ??
her dad raised her in the life of crime, really. he wasn’t a great character and she learned the talents of thievery and lying from the day she could walk.
she’s never had a godly parent, she was mortal before the huntress blessing.
she pissed off the wrong minor god and they were going to punish her but artemis literally saved her life and blessed her with immortal life and the huntress bond.
she’s very loyal to artemis and love her adopted sisters to death.
this isn’t her first time at camp half blood, she’s been in and out of the camp since becoming a hunter 30 something years ago.
she’s wicked good with a bow and arrow and a sword. she’s got perfect aim and never misses. she’s learned to use guns as well but prefers the huntress bow she got from artemis.
she’s almost always in head to toe black unless she’s around camp and she actually wears white all the time ??
training she gets on her huntress outfit and omg she’s kind of scary to look at so like.. be warned if she’s in that right now.
it’s not uncommon for her to walk around covered in blood of some kind.
she comes and goes a lot, using the camp as a second home when she’s not out with artemis and the other hunters.
thinks she is 100% better than you.
doesn’t exactly hate men, would be friends with one, but she knows her vows and won’t break that. ha.
