Jackson pollock was a painter that discovered a new way to get a new picture. He went to New York to get a new scenery to help him stop drinking. People have said that he was a mixture of Picasso and Marlboro man. In the 1950’s he was at the peak of his fame and many people said he was the worlds best artist. He makes his painting in a direct technique, he mostly use a brush and sometime use a stick, sand, broken glass, pebbles, string, nails, and any other material. He wants his viewers to feel what he is feeling through his art. For pollock he seen his drip art as a way to say what he was thinking. The dripping technique became revolutionary because it was filled with energy. The dripping technique is another way for the viewers to connect with the artist. Polluck became famous from the expression movement that took place in his art. He made his art reflect his life and mirror things in the world that he experienced. He produced most of his greatest paintings of the 20 century right from the inside of his barn. Some critics say his work is unorthodox, sloppy, and no structural organization. Pollock sabotaged his own dinner for thanksgiving by having a drink and flipping the dinner table over is the beginning of his downfall. After that incident he began to drink really heavy and he never was able to reach his peak again, his artwork wasn’t selling how it was prior, and five years later he died in a car crash while driving drunk.

Unity and variety are the opposite of each other lying on the opposite side of the spectrum. An object that's painted the same color has total unity without variety. The unity in this painting is the size canvas and colors used the variety is the flowers.

Balance is how elements are complementary to each other to make a feeling of completion. Artists use balance in everyday life when designing buildings.

Emphasis is a central part in a artwork and subordination is an lesser interest in a artwork. Artists uses emphasis and subordination in most artwork that they create.

Directional forces is use to influence the way we look at art. Artists use this to make the viewers focus on certain things in their art.

repetition is a regular recurrence and rhythm is elements in a sequence. Artists use this to show a certain pattern in a painting.

scale is the size to one thing to another and proportion is the size to parts and a whole. Artists use scale and proportions when their trying to determine what they want to make into their art.

Color makes me feel emotions. I feel connected to hue colors in the world. I usually wear clothes that have a dark value. I like colors with high intensity to look at but not wear or color with. When I take pictures I like to edit the saturation to make it have high intensity. Blue makes me feel more calm and at ease. And certain colors like purples and blues and pinks mixed together engages me into wanting to draw. If I had to pick a “color scheme” for my life, I would pick completely colors, I love how they are the opposite of each other.

The girl in the painting name is Clio she is an imagery person. The artist who painted this name is Johannes Vermeer. The medium is oil paint it was created in 1665 during the Dutch Golden Age. The painting depicts a young woman in a dimly lit space, exuding status, wealth, beauty, and mystery.

This is a picture of still life. This is a painting of two apples and a vase being motionless. I included this painting because I liked this still artwork from Han Choi. The message is still art on a tabletop.

4. I am fascinated by life. For my self portrait I drew a collage with little things that I like. A goldfish to represent my first pet. A guitar to show the first instrument that I’ve owned. I drew flowers because I love flowers. And the face portraits because I like drawing random faces on my free time.

When I look at art I decide rather I like it or not by the artwork it self. I look at art to see what it represents or the emotions it gives off. I’m 18, I’m from Sarasota fl I’ve been raised here my whole life. I am African American. I like to play video-games, draw and nature. I am not a member of any organized group I am currently only working as a babysitter at the moment. My personality makes me uniquely me.

2. This is a piece of art from my life. This painting from Vincent Van Gogh is “starry night” it hangs in my room that I look at everyday. The media that was used is oil paint. It serves as his view of the countryside from his window at Saint Paul Mausole asylum where he spent 12 months to help with his mental illnesses. I think the painting is beautiful. I love the colors used to describe the night, the swirls representing stars, the thick brush strokes to emphasize the artist’s feelings.

1. Hello, my name is Vivyan. One little-known fact about me is that I am the youngest person in my family to graduate from high school and attend college. 

2. The artwork I was assigned is #11, which is Pablo Picasso's 1937 painting named "Guernica."

Guernica was created on April 26, 1937–June 1937

Guernica is a large 1937 oil painting by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.

Many art critics consider it the most powerful anti-war painting ever made, and it is one of the artist's best-known works.

The artwork is displayed at the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid.

Picasso painted Guernica in response to the 1937 bombing of Basque Country by the fascist Spanish army and its allies, a rare political statement in his art.

3. When I first took a closer look at this artwork created by Picasso, I was struck by the detailed and intricate details of the piece. The colors, shapes, and lines all seemed to be carefully composed to evoke a powerful emotional response to the viewer. While looking further into the artwork I thought the artist may have been attempting to convey the theme of suffering or hardship through this piece. After researching, my first thought remained unchanged. I can see now the artwork depicted the aftermath of a bombing, portraying the suffering and pain caused.
