“What would You do If Knew Tonight Was Your Last Night on Earth?”
when a college student asks for work as a chauffeur, for high profile clients. He gets more than she bargained for when he picks up two bloodthirsty ladies that are ready for a night on the town.
This movie was really cool honestly and I was surprised that I would like it so much. I love the way that you imagine these vampires and how the nightlife goes along with their lifestyle. This was an original idea which is hard to come by, and It really kept me entertained.
This movie seems a little Disney-fied but honestly it’s a good balance between Corny and bloody at the same time. Definitely when I would watch again and would recommend it for anyone who likes Debby Ryan, and any other film she’s been in.

Sleepwalkers(1992)

“Theres alot of Cats”
Stephen King has had some weird movies in the past, but I think this one is up there. Charles, his mother move to a New Town. But what people don’t know is that they are moving there so that the mother has something to feed on. Yes, there are grocery stores and Markets. But what's better than people?
There’s not many things good I can say about this film and it was like pulling my own teeth pretty much the entire time. I believe the plot had the makings to be a better film, but in my opinion, it just turned into a lot of gore that again wasn’t needed and really just sank the picture even more.
Please recommend some good Stephen King films to watch, because I feel like I have only found the bad ones! but I guess that’s what happens when you’re doing the 31 days of Halloween on Hulu!

“And in the Darkest Places only
Kindness Matters”
Ambar an undocumented woman from Mexico, moves into a boarding house. While she’s living there, she starts to have eerie versions and starts hearing cries from places she doesn’t know are coming from.
Based on the novel from Adam Nevill, this movie has some seriously chilling parts, with a real story in between, that keeps you entertained thoroughly.
If anything, this film has taught me that I really might want to read this book as I am an avid reader as well.
The little hidden treasures in this film really play to your love of the main character, Ambar. Someone who is just trying to make it in another world that she has no idea what has in store for her. I did not think I was gonna like this picture as much as I did, and I think that’s what makes some of the better ones I’ve seen.
I will definitely watch this one again, just for the context alone. I love the deep meanings throughout and I love what the Director has done with this film.
Definitely recommend watching this in the dark under some covers as this is a movie you want to experience at night.

The lodge (2019)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25/5

“It doesnt say Anything About
presents in the Bible”
With the mother passing, Richard meets Grace. A woman who as a child was in a religious cult that caused her immense trauma. Mia and Aidan are Richards kids from the previous marriage and can't see how their father can be involved with another woman after the passing of his last wife suddenly. Richard decides to connect Grace with his kids, he invites Grace to the cabin with his children.
The amount of hidden meanings in this film is astronomical and (no spoilers) my mouth dropped open at the ending. It's hard nowadays to see original movies but this was one that actually didn't seem like a remake of another film. Very original idea and I loved the meanings behind everything. In my opinion this is a psychological horror rather than a drama/horror. Which is why I liked this so much more. This is one of my higher rated movies for the 31 days of halloween! Definitely one to spend this month on.

The Strangers (2008)
⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5

When james’ proposal to Kristen goes off with many more hitches than he would have wanted in a family vacation home that was supposed to be filled with happiness. Soon three strangers turn up in masks to be a part of the unhappiest of occasions and bring their own forms of engagement gifts.
The Eerie feeling in this film, the entire time really plays with your senses. How in the darkness someone could be hiding or when Kristen looks out the window, and the only thing you can see is a bag on a head, but no body attached to it. I love these little cinematic experiences that really have you engrossed throughout the picture. They really play in the suspensefulness of the film in its entirety.
The picture ends on a great note honestly that I feel a lot of different directors are scared to go to. So I was surprised by the ending and did not expect it at all. Which made for a great film. definitely one you should check out.

“Who’s Bill Murray?”
Groundhog day meets the baby mask version of scream. Tree (cause who does not name their child that) wakes up in a college boy’s bed, who we find out to be Carter. As the day progresses, it feels like she has gone through this day before until she dies and wakes up in the same bed again. She will keep reliving this day until she figures out exactly who is murdering her.
Now I am not one for slashers usually and this movie gave me corny vibes at times. But out of most slashers, I would say this is one of the better slashers in my opinion. It has comedic moments that break the Oh so scary parts. And yes, pun intended. But overall, this was just a fun watch.
However, the ending I did not see coming and it didn’t leave me for a loop a little bit which most slashers don’t do. So props to them for that. I would watch this film again, which says a lot for someone who doesn’t like slashers!

“Youre a Bit Just Like the Plague”
A group of teenagers that are so encompassed into their phones that their parents send them into rehabilitation camp but soon they are hunted down one by one in the night.
This film has all the stereotypes in it, the jock, the shy girl, the overly sexualized girl, the nerd all in the wilderness. If you've seen Cabin in the Woods or any Friday the 13th movies you've seen this one. I will say one thing good about the film is the cinematics, the forest scenes and the flashback scenes were done very well. One thing that bothered me about this film was why is one “wilderness expert” taking charge of 5 kids all at once on a three day trip? But does anything ever make sense in these kinds of movies?
Now for the ending, it left a lot of unanswered questions. I have to be honest the ending just left me super confused and it felt like it was just rushed. This movie was just okay from start to finish, but I would not put it on my watchlist again.

“Get in The Fucking Truck”
Covered in blood going southbound on a country highway, Jack and Mitch are being chased by blood thirsty aliens.
Across the road Sadie, Claire, and Jem hitchhike their way with a cooky family that seem to be a little off. The girls stay with the family and meet there even weirder friends with their quirky traditions. The ritualistic behaviors of their new found ‘friends' causes trouble for everyone around them and who encounter them.
This creepy town is filled with abnormal individuals from different parts of life and worlds.
SPOILER(kind of): My take on this movie was that they are stuck in their own kind of purgatory trying to pay for their past mistakes and the ‘aliens’ are reapers coming down to take them.
This film is a mind bender. It messes with your head and I was confused about 80 percent of it. The acting was honestly B rated at best, but the storyline and characters pull you in. Great ending.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

“But Yes I can Make You Mashed Potatoes”
Steven Murphy a renowned Cardiologist and somnophilliac has a normal suburban family. Anna Murphy is a normal quiet housewife who takes care of her two children Bob and Kim. Martin, the son of one of Stevens' patients , is an eerie teenager who seems to be very interested in Steven and his family for some unknown reason.
When Bob, the youngest child suddenly comes down with an unknown illness that even the doctor himself is stumped over. That is until Martin drops a bomb on him that shakes his secure foundation and it crumbles to the floor.
Yorgos, the director of this film also directed the lobster. Which makes so much sense for the slow eerie feeling throughout this entire movie. The way he directed this film really plays into the suspense itself, with the way the characters talk and the melancholy emotion throughout.
Natalie Portman was such a great casting option in this movie, this shows her depth as an actress in its entirety. I have loved every movie she has been in but when she gets into the roots of her thriller genre she really shines through. Also her monologue in this film gave me chills. Best part of this picture.
Control is a powerful tool, you can use it to get what you want from someone or for someone. This film was one of the most interesting watches of the year. In my opinion this is a psychological horror versus a drama/thriller. As a psychology major this movie kept my interest which is surprising for it to be almost two hours long. The picture did a great balance of suspense and steady pace which played well with the plot. I personally would recommend this film to anyone who also loves mind bending movies as much as I do.

“Im a Fucking Giant”
Tasya vos works for the government as an assassin, and in order to take out high profile targets. She takes control of other people's bodies.
Dealing with the balance between regular and ‘work’ life, she begins to lose her sense of reality and her work life.
Visually this movie has some stunning pieces that really encompass the feeling of losing yourself completely. Karim Hussain was quoted to say “Hats off to the producers for allowing us to make something as insane as this” Now watching this film I see exactly what he means.
Now let's talk about when gore is needed and when gore is not. Terrifier, gore is needed, Saw gore is needed. However this movie didn't have to be as gory as it was. My head was turned quite a bunch in this movie and I can handle gore but this was next level. Almost as much gore as terrifier for everyone who has seen that.
The ending of this picture made my mouth drop open. The film went to a point i didnt even think it could go to, very strange indeed. This was an experience in itself but I don't know if it's something I would watch again.

Fear Street:1666 (2021)
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
😱/5
“I Fear Union”
Opening in the year 1666 Sarah seems to be contemplating her existence when she has helped a cow give birth in her village. It's a small village where secrets are one in a million and you can feel the suspense in the air. Where religion is the way of life and dictates even their own existence.
Once nightfall hits Sarah and her friends Hannah and Kate wander into the woods to meet a witch who's the talk of the town. When they can't find the Widow Mary herself they come across her book of ‘witchcraft’. With her back turned Sarah is caught and given a grave warning of what comes next.
When their view of ‘sin’ is done it plagues their town in ways they have expected. As they all have grown up knowing what they have been taught is ‘sin’ and what is good. Sarah deals with her own internal issues coming forward and the fear that her ‘sin’ has come down on to hurt them all.
The twists and turns in this film really keep you wanting more the entire time. This is the first in the trilogy of fear street i have watched and if there as well done as this one, i might give it a try.
That's what i thought until i got about 45 minutes to the end and it turned into a bad horror riverdale feeling ending. This movie had the makings to be a great film until then. Let down.

Crawl (2019)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
😱😱😱/5
When a hurricane hits Haley (the main characters) Florida town. She has to race to help her trapped father terrified and alone in his home. However when gigantic alligators are hunting you in the murky waters, this doesn't make it an easy journey.
They meet people who are also trying to get to safety due to hurricane Wendy. But will the gators allow that to happen? I think not.
For a killer gator movie this was done well. This film really keeps you on the edge of the seat the whole time. The suspense is one that is slow but fast at the same time which makes it great for someone with a bad attention span.
The heartfelts moments that Haley and her father have really show how resilient this family is. This also goes to the basis of inner family trauma and the bonds that break in between.
Honestly I did not think I was going to like this film as much as I did. I would put this on my watch list and definitely recommend it if you are suspense druggy.

Ghost Lab (2021)
0.5/5
0/5
“After witnessing a haunting in their hospital, two doctors become dangerously obsessed with obtaining scientific proof that ghosts exist.” According to Google. This movie honestly was one of the worst I've seen. With its comedic nature that doesn’t go with the movie at all. It’s so confusing with the genre they’re trying to get at. Like is it a comedy? Or is it horror? I've seen great foreign films, and this is not one of them. There isn’t much more I can say about this movie just don’t waste your time. 8 minutes in and i felt like i was being tortured the whole time. This film will have you confused, almost angry and just utterly waiting for the pain to stop.

Friday the 13th: The final Chapter (1984)
⭐️/5
0/5
From Friday the 13th part two the final Chapter starts again. Quirky but also jocky stereotypical 80s teenagers get killed off one by one.
Honestly can't say much good about this movie because it has sequel vibes and (most of the time) sucks. Well this is one of those that sucked. Easiest plot ever to follow from start to finish with some ch ch ch and ah ah ah ah’s thrown in. If you are looking for a corny 80s horror movie to watch honestly dont watch this one they are so much better ones. 44 min left and every minute was so boring. Snooze fest.

The Ritual (2018)
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
😱😱.5/5
When Luke is on a drive out of the city to pick up a pint, blood is drawn without disregard. This leaves Luke living in his own thoughts and feelings, so he takes to the wilderness. Squandering in his own emotions to see where the outdoors takes him and his friends even if it's to dangerous vasts.
This film really gets into how our mind wants to continue because deep in our being we have the need to know what is behind those treacherous woods. They each awaken from terrible bedwetting nightmares, to figure out what happened that night.
When a creature tracks you and your friends one by one what would you do?
‘Nordic’ people take them down one by one through the visions in each of their nightmares. Helping the people around it that worship it and find people for ‘the ritual’.
Andrew Shulkind has an amazing eye for cinematography that really puts this movie on the line with his stunning landscape shots. This really makes you want to keep watching to really see this visual horror.
This movie was so confusing and slow at the beginning but when it finally started picking up it was got better. If you are into visuals and fantasy horror this is the perfect film for you! Me on the other hand would not put this on my watch list again.

Two kids Josh and Zach, Just navigate through teenage life and the fears of pubescence. Even with the terror that juvenility brings, things become appalling when blood is drawn. Now with their hands stained and their once innocence taken in such a short time. What will these boys do to avoid the inevitable?
This film really plays on the balance of our actions, reactions, and being a child all in one with adult choices. However, how we act on those choices we make in life can really affect the crossroads that might come at points we don’t plan for.
How does death affect our lives? Through waves? Through Anger? Well one of these characters decided he couldnt take it anymore and the world needed to be purged. For what reason you may ask? I do not know. Watch to found out for yourself.

Day 12 of 31 days of Halloween on Netflix!
Veronica (2017)
⭐️⭐️⭐️.65/5
😱😱.5/5
Veronica is a child herself, taking care of the children in her family. The little children in our family really count on her to get them ready in the morning and for school. Once she’s in school herself her teacher goes on to talk about the solar eclipse. Which means the school will be busy doing other things which gives her friends and Veronica plenty of time to play.
The long term tradition of the oldest child taking care of the younger children and the mother or father working, is a huge point in this movie. The cultural differences in Madrid allow demons to toy with the mind of a young teen and also put her in a spot that she doesn’t want to be in as a child herself. If anything this shows that the demon she conjures up uses her responsibilities as the oldest in the household to bring out her worst fears.
The trepidation that Veronica must feel to not only have to protect herself from an unknown entity, but her three youngest siblings must instill such terror, not knowing what to do in the circumstances.
If you are looking for a film this season that will frighten you, but not to the point you can't sleep this film is perfect. It has all the makings of a great film to really get you in this ghostly season!
Director: Paco Plaza
Cinematographer: Veronica Bouza
Tw: children in danger, possession, Blood, self harm
