There's a part of dans Times radio interview where the host is asking about if his mental health problems stem from childhood or having a huge audience putting pressure on him. And Dan, our sweet boy Dan, goes out of his way to say that his audience helped him rather than make things worse.

Every week I see phannies say some version of "if we don't behave they'll disappear again", like the hiatus was some sort of punishment for our behavior. But Dan has made clear time and time again that having an excited and accepting audience was what made it possible for him to work through his issues. He just needed to do it on his own and not in public.
