is it true you guys view julie as more of an art project than something you guys tie to your selves to as musicians?

yes. although obviously we’re a band and we have to do the things you do as a band and that takes up a lot of my time but i’m always thinking of it as an art project first. balancing ways to play into both is always a goal of mine but that’s just how i’ve always looked at it. i would hate to *only* in be a band.

i’ve fallen in love with my anti-aircraft friend and how it gives this almost mythic/monstrous form to tangled emotions and destructive ties. but i’ve also wondered, do you see the ‘anti-aircraft friend’ more as a singular embodiment of something specific? or is it more of a composite spirit, gathering fragments from different times/people/experiences? maaf is definitely one of the best albums of all time

i think in a way it’s both. because so many of the songs are from different periods of time, it’s inherently something that is collaged with dated experiences and people and times in our life but it also consciously is meant to be a cohesive particular body of work rather than a sort of compilation.

Where do you get your art inspiration? Something not too detailed but very... deep? I love the art for the double single pg 4 and through your window

thank u, it’s a little tricky to answer, i guess it’s been a broader feeling i’ve been trying to envoke almost every time i draw. it’s more so mainly introspective inspiration than outwardly inspired, (although possibly vaguely inspired by things i’ve seen). .. . for years i’ve been trying to constantly attempt communicating the defeat of emotional weight with an external attachment to something i don’t know really
