“I Support Hong Kong Police, “ says Disney’s Mulan actress, Liu Yifei
Further to my last post, just what kind of organization is Liu championing for?  Let’s find out.
Just a bit of a brief introduction - when the Hong Kong government tried to force-pass a controversial bill back in June (the Extradition Bill), a series of protests were sparked. The protests started out peacefully, but when the demands of the the million of the people went unheard, clashes with the authorities inevitably happened.
Ever since the first confrontation on 9 June, the situation has only worsen as the HK government allow the police force to employ more and more violence in attempts to stamp out oppositions.
Being smacked in the face by the reality of a blatant corruption of the authorities, the HongKongers are now shifting their attention to fighting for democracy and freedom of Hong Kong.
(For those that are not familiar to the situation and wish to know more, please check out the info pack here - it’s a long story.)
Here is a few examples of police brutality during the protests:
Use of Excessive Force - So this is from one of the earliest confrontations on 12 June. One protester was pushed to the ground and beaten by a group of officers. The girl could only curl up on the ground and was completely defenseless while shields were being repeatedly slammed into her body.
Tumblr media
On 11 Aug, one of the first-aider who was present at Tsim Sha Tsui, unarmed,  was shot right in the eye. She was permanently blinded. The police deliberately aimed for the head as witnessed by journalist Richard Scotford.
They aimed to kill.
Tumblr media
Sexual Violence - A girl was arrested on 4 Aug. She was being carried by male officers with her skirt uplifted and her undergarment (and possibly her private part) exposed. A complete disregard and insult to her modesty.
Another lesser known case - a man who took part in the protests was arrested on 3 July. He was reportedly being called a “retard” and was molested by the police. I couldn’t find any news report in English.  Guess it has been buried under a mountain of atrocities committed by the force since then.
I could go on and on - these are only the tip of the iceberg. Anyone with an ounce of conscience would not condone such brutality, much less saying they support such act. It is unfortunate that Disney has cast such a morally bankrupt / ignorant person to portray such a beloved character. Mulan would never bow down to such tyranny.  It might seems unfair that her co-stars and talents who worked hard to bring us this movie but we need to make a statement to such injustice.

Just an hour and a half ago Hong Kong “Police” chased retreating protesters to the entrance of Tai Koo Station and started beating them on the upper level of an escalator and fired at the crowd at point-blank range, resulting in multiple injuries.  Several protestors were pushed to the ground and repeatedly beaten by the deranged officers even though they were already subdued.
The so called Hong Kong Police Force is now a criminal organisation with the intend to kill Hong Kong citizens.
Carrie Lam and Lo Wai-chung - have you no shame?

It is still going on!
After a controversial arrest of a student leader in Hong Kong, citizens are now  gathering outside the HK Space Museum with laser pointers in protest against the unlawful conduct of the HK police.
(The texts read “Liberate Hong Kong; Revolution of our times”, a famous slogan used in the Anti Extradition Protests.)
After buying several laser pointers, a student was detained by several “off-duty” officers on the ground that he was found with the possession of an “offensive weapon”.  The student stated that the pointers are for stargazing purposes only.
In today’s press conference, the HK Police claimed the laser-pointers are high powered “laser guns”. What a joke.

Yuki Kajiura LIVE TOUR vol.#15 〜The Junctions of Fiction 2019 in Hong Kong〜
I had no idea the last time we’ve had FJ here was already 6 years ago...Orz
Unfortunate that they have to come at such a terrible time.
Overall I’m not super astonished at the setlist but I’ll take what I could get :)
- Keiko is very prominent from start to finish, and we’ve got the world so yay! lol
- Joelle’s substitute for Wakana’s songs really has a different vibe. so not exactly a substitute I guess (esp. for vanity).  I’d still miss her tho.
- Yuriko-san is amazing as usual.
- I’ve never realised elemental is so good live for Kaori.
I think most of us are not used to the rhythm for an FJ Live. Like, I wonder how many songs do ppl recognise? I saw luminous sword got a lot of reactions but other than that?
I’ll admit I don’t know most of the newer songs lol

Update on Hong Kong Protest
Overall Situation
Today marks the seventh consecutive Sunday that Hong Kong citizens have taken the streets to march for democracy and freedom. Each time, there have been no less than hundreds of thousands of children, elderly and adults alike, with the highest recorded number being 2 million people on June 16th, 2019.
The aim of the protest is for the government to respond and act on these 5 main requests:
Complete withdrawal of the Extradition Bill
Withdraw the term ‘riot’ that was used to label the largely peaceful demonstration on June 12th, 2019
Release all arrested protesters
Formation of an independent committee to investigate the excessive force from the Hong Kong Police
Resignation of Chief Executive Carrie Lam
So, after nearly two months of active protest, has the government responded to the demands? The simple answer is no. The Chief Executive and other high ranking officials have come out to address these issues, but none of the demands have been properly met, and were mostly evaded and diverted into other topics.
In a press conference, Carrie Lam addressed the Extradition Bill using words such as, “the bill is dead” or “it is suspended”, but actively avoided the word “withdraw”. You might think, what’s the big deal? She said it’s suspended, that should be good enough! But politics is about word play. If she doesn’t officially announce the withdrawal of the Bill, the government has the right to bring it back in the future, making this all for nothing.
The Government had acknowledged that most of the protesters were peaceful on June 12th, but still refused to retract the term ‘riot’.
Some protestors have been released on bail, but await trial
The government claims that they have their own committee to investigate complaints made to the police. However, these people also work for the government, and therefore will be biased. The government refuses to fund an independent committee regarding this issue.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam has made it clear that she will not be resigning.
Therefore, all in all, none of the demands have been properly addressed and acted upon.

We need your help.
I guess I will be taken to prison by Chinese government one day, because of this art I drew, or the things I said.
I am from Hong Kong. As you may not know, this is a special administration region of China. We (still) have our own legal system, and freedom of speech, that’s why I can access to everywhere in the internet without censorship (I get ask a lot). Recently, over a million of people are protesting against the Extradition Law. It was an extremely-almost-impossible fight and many students are injured horribly by the police force. I WAS THERE.
If the extradition law is passed, which means that China can “took” anyone from Hong Kong back to China as “prisoners”. Oh you don’t wanna know what China will do to those innocent people …
The government is forcing the law on us. We couldn’t do this on our own. We need more attention from other countries. Please spread this message out.

15/6 UPDATE: One of our man just jump off from the roof - he suicided because of THIS.
His last words were “Full withdrawal of Extradition Bill. We are not rioters. Release injured students. Step down Carrie Lam. Help Hong Kong. No Extradition To China. Make Love No Shoot.”
We are all heartbroken. You will be missed. R.I.P.

1/7 UPDATE: 3 lives have been sacrificed. We cannot afford any more deaths. Leave no men behind. Rest in peace.

For days there has been rumors that some pro-China gangsters (those wearing white T-shirt) will target people who are against the extradition bill / the regime - but the police did NOTHING.  They only appeared after the gangsters have fled the scene.
THIS IS INSANE.  Clearly the HK gov are not capable of governing the city anymore.
Tumblr media
PLEASE SPREAD!
After the demonstration on 21st July, there were a bunch of men in white, believe to be gangsters, walking around in Yuen Long and beating up everyone whom they believe to had joined the rally earlier today. They had weapons and even enter the platform of the railway to attack people.
Tumblr media
People called emergency hotline, the response is 'Don't go out if you're scared.' Then they were hanged up. Yuen Long Police Station was shut down, clips showing that patrolling police ignored the gangsters' attacking citizens.
Tumblr media
The police had been complained before for use of excessive force, many believe they are ignoring the gangsters on purpose.

Finished the 10-hour trial
So...why not write something while waiting for launch?
Not much has progressed story-wise, the most eventful stuff was all packed in the first 2 hours, and the first mission after the prologue got cut off right before things got real so no point in discussing the story just yet.
The one thing that I want to say is - I absolutely love playing as Ryder. It’s quite refreshing to have a relatively inexperienced MC. The strange thing is, usually in the first playthrough I’d just play a self-insert character but with MEA I don’t know why I suddenly want to role play as Sara Ryder the girl who always looks up to her father, who’s a bit of a nerd, who struggles in the role of being a Pathfinder, etc. And the new dialogue system (from DAI?) actually allows me to do this. I mean in the OT whether it’s paragon or renegade Shepard, they were essentially the same...?
I guess I got bored playing as heroes. I don’t know if it’s the writing or the voice acting or something else but I wasn’t half as attached to my inquisitor orz
BTW Cora’s kinda like Gwynn in Vindictus, I like Gwynn
