“Little Lady” Part 5 [Percival Graves x Reader]
Word count: 2k
Warnings: None I can think of
Apology: It’s been almost a year since I wrote something so I’m trying to finish my unfinished projects at first. I’m sorry if you were reading this series and suddenly I wasn’t updating anymore.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Tumblr media
Magical abilities and skills:
                  Auror Training- Completed
Non verbal magic- Registrated Level B2
                  Apparition Training- Completed
Magical characteristics:
Wand- 11", core: tail hair of a Thestral, material: cherry wood
                 Patrons- previously panther, currently facing
                 Bogart- unknown
After reading the file Percival was even more puzzled. There was nothing that he didn't already know, but he had hoped to get a clearer picture of what was going on. Just as his informator had told him Y/N had been an auror, just as her brother. She had arrested Grindelwald. Her brother had been sent to Azkaban and she had fought her free. She had been one of the many aurors who made it their personal goal to catch Gellert Grindelwald. Around the time Grindelwald disappeared from Europe, Y/N's brother was announced missing and Y/N gave up her job in the ministry. That was about all that was written there. Absolutely no news.
Percival decided to head home for the night, it was already past midnight. The next morning he decided to go and talk to Madame President about her. The more he thought about it the more he wanted to believe she was innocent.
***
The next morning Percival headed straight to Madame President's office. The problem of Y/N Y/L/N had kept him up all night. It all started making sense to him. That girl had lost her family or at least her brother to Grindelwald and was trying to do anything she could to bring him to justice. From what Percival had heard last night it seemed like Grindelwald had at one point captured her. That would also explain why she got scared so easily when Graves touched her shoulder unexpectedly. After all he had done it without a warning and from behind, so there was no way she had seen it coming. There were a lot of questions to be answered.
"She is alone," said Madame President's secretary when she saw Percival coming in.
"Thank you," he replied and walked into the President's office.
"Good morning Graves, on the rare occasion when I didn't have the need to see you in the morning you find your own way here," she said jokingly when she saw Percival.
"It is about Miss Y/N."
Madame President's face fell visibly. "It was an unfortunate event indeed."
"Madam, I was present almost every training she conducted with the new recruits. There was no harassment. Unless we'd count the way that Hallenby kid was acting harassment. "
"I know, I had no other choice than to arrest her for 24 hours, Mr. Hallenby filed a report on her. In these cases the least we can do is arrest the person for a day and conduct an investigation. I had 5 students write their statement in the event that had occurred and single-handedly decided that she is not to be blamed. Her arrest ends in," Madam Picquery looked at the clock on the wall," 37 minutes. Then she is free to go." She didn't look to pleased with the situation.
"And that is it? She should be getting a compensation for that night," Graves said with a furious undertone.
"Indeed, but that is her's to ask. Would you have time to go free her?" Madam Picquery asked.
"I will."
"Not earlier than in 36 minutes, thank you," the woman finished and handed Percival the same keys she had handed him last night.
***
These 36 minutes were the longest Percival can remember  any 36 minute period to have ever been. He was sitting in his office and preparing a form for Y/N. His mind was filled with questions. He wasn't sure if Y/N was in the right mindset to be asked about her past right after being stuck overnight in the company of the other inmates. When he had just 7 minutes until her release Graves decided to leave his office and head downstairs. As was bound to happen, he reached the corridor leading to the cells in a minute or two and had an extra 5 minutes now. He tried to open the lock as silently as he could and entered the corridor, he was greeted with a chilly badly lit part of the building. He stopped and tried to hear anything that the inmates were saying.
"Hmmm... more or less?" a man asked.
"Less," a woman answered.
"I went easy on a pretty thing like you," the same man answered.
"Sure," the same woman answered shortly.
"Oh come on answer me now," the man said almost flirtatiously.
"No, you can guess."
"Less than 50 but more than 25 hmm... 32!" the man guessed.
"No."
"45."
The woman didn't reply for a long time. "No."
"44."
"Almost"
"43?"
There was a long pause once again. "Yes."
"43 scars is not a lot, you should be more hostile with me!" the man flirted again.
"One day I'll decorate you with 43 scars and then we can debate over it," the woman replied coldly. Graves wasn't sure but it could have been Y/N.
"Y/N, Y/N, we had a good time together, no need to get mean," the man and his friends laughed. The conversation died cause Y/N stopped answering completely. Graves decided to finally go in. He walked to Y/N's cell and opened the door of it.
"Follow me," he said to Y/N. He did only get a glimpse of her but it seemed like she didn't look too good. She was curled up in the far right corner of the cell. She stood up and silently walked to the door. Graves locked the now empty cell after her and started leading her out from between the cells.
"We'll meet sooner than you think, doll!" the same man shouted after her.
When Graves and Y/N closed to corridor's door behind them and walked into the more lit part of the building, he finally looked at Y/N. The woman had dark circles around her eyes and her hair was messy. Otherwise she looked fine.
"You have to sign a few papers in my office, is that okay?" Graves asked looking at her.
"Yes," she answered and nodded lazily. The reached the elevator and the both of them reached to the button to call for it at the same time. Their hands touched for a brief second before Y/N quickly pulled her hand away. Graves noticed that her hand was very cold. The more he looked at her the more clear it became that the poor woman was freezing. She was shaking slightly and her lips had an almost blue touch to them. Without asking Percival took his jacket off and offered it to her.
"I'm fine, thank you," Y/N replied and looked down.
"You're clearly freezing. Who's gonna train the aurors if you get sick?" Percival said and was almost surprised by his own words, they sounded childish. The elevator arrived and opened it's doors.
"If I will get sick, then I will. I doubt your coat will undo the whole night," she replied and stepped into the elevator.
Graves couldn't argue with that, she did have a good point. That didn't mean that he didn't feel like he wanted to help her. They stood by each other in silence, Graves was awkwardly holding his jacket in his hands. When the elevator stopped Graves decided to put his jacket around Y/N shoulders anyway. He made sure she saw what he was doing (not like the last time) and placed the jacket on the woman's shoulders. It was stupidly big for her and made her seem even smaller than she was. In that moment the doors opened but neither of them moved for a brief second. Finally Graves gestured to Y/N  to stepped out first. As soon as they started heading to Percival's office, Y/N felt many pairs of eyes on her. Percival noticed that too but didn't give it too much thought. Once they reached the office Percival opened the door for her and told her to wait for a minute.
Y/N walked in and sat down on a wooden chair with a leather seat, identical to the one on the other side of the table. She let her eyes wander over the cabinet. It looked more like a fancy interrogation room. There were no pictures on the walls or on the desk, no plants, the room was depressingly dark and the light there was cold. Y/N took the jacket she had been given off and walked over to Percival's chair, she placed the jacket on the chair and took her seat again. Before she could investigate the decor more Graves was back.
He sat down on his seat and sighed. "Sign this, I'll fill the rest out myself," he said and handed Y/N the form. Y/N read through the paper fast, signed it and handed it back.
"You can write a complaint on Hallenby for all this," Graves said while filling out the rest of the paper.
"I'd rather not, it would give him even more reason to hate me," she replied.
" Are you sure?" Percival asked.
" Yes."
" Well here is the signed return permit for your wand," he took it from the  top drawer of his desk.
An awkward silence took over .
"When can I teach again?" Y/N asked and stood up.
"I doubt you want to do it today but tomorrow is fine, if it's fine by you."
"I won't cancel my today's class," she said and walked out. No one had ever walked out from Percival's office in the middle of the conversation before. He was both agitated and impressed.
***
Almost without having noticed Percival found himself walking into the training hall of the aurors when he knew the class was about to start. He went and sat down in the back of the room in his usual seat.
"I wonder if Miss Y/L/N will be here?" a girl who Percival thinks was in his office the day before asked from another girl.
"No idea," the girl replied.
"Of course she won't, she was thrown to jail! I hope we'll get a proper teacher finally!" David Hallenby, the spoiled kid, said.
"And I hoped I'd have normal students but I guess life is not what we expect or hope," Y/N who had entered the room without anyone noticing said, "today we'll go through the most common dirty moves when it comes to hand combat but first, run for 7 minutes."
The pupils stared running but Y/N walked to Percival instead. " Can you help me today?" she asked.
"In what way?" Percival asked back a bit surprised by the unusual warmness in her voice.
"I need to show them the moves but I don't want be accused of fighting with the students," she said matter-of-factly.
"Good idea," Percival said and followed Y/N to the middle part of the hall. He took of his jacket and vest, loosened his tie a bit, unbuttoned the upper button on his shirt and rolled up his sleeves.
"7 minutes is up!" Y/N shouted in a bit and everyone in the room gathered together.
"Today we have Mr. Graves taking part of our training class more physically than before. So before we start what were the most important things you learned last time? Let's go over them quickly..."
***
When the class ended and everyone had left the hall Y/N noticed that Percival was still in the room.
"Thank you for helping me out today," she smiled and told him.
"It was no problem," Graves replied.
"I didn't want to be completely alone in front of them today," she admitted.
"It is completely understandable," Percival replied and walked out of the door, Y/N followed him and locked the door after herself. Percival found himself thinking that she looked good even when she had been through so much in the last few days. " Can I walk you home?" Percival asked without even thinking.
"Thank you but there is no need for that, see you tomorrow," Y/N smiled and walked away. She left Percival standing in the hallway of MACUSA, wondering if any woman has ever declined that offer from him before.

“Little Lady” Part 4 [Percival Graves x Reader]
Word count: 1.6k
Warnings: I can’t bring anything out but it’s a bit rougher part than the other ones
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Tumblr media
There was a knock on the door and Percival quickly threw the yet unopened file into one of his drawers.
„Yes?" he shouted.
The door opened up slowly and four girls walked in. Percival recognised at least two of the girls from the auror training programme. The girls looked around the office and it seemed like they had just now lost their tongues.
„Yes?" he asked once again.
„Mister Graves, we really need your help! We wouldn't have come here unless it was the very last chance," one of the girls finally opened her mouth and said.
„And why are you not asking help from your mentor, Miss Y/L/N?" he leant back in his chair.
„It is about her, sir," the girl who stood on the back, right next to the door said.
The situation had been rather unusual at first but now it really started catching his eye.
„I'm listening."
„This morning, when we came here..." one girl started but another one interrupted, „ Madame President was there to tell us that Miss Y/L/N had been taken to interrogation."
Even as skilled as he was, Percival didn't manage to hide the expression of surprise from his face. He would have wanted to storm out of his office right then and find out if the information he had gotten yesterday was right.
„And do you know why was she taken to interrogation?" he asked and none of the girls answered right away.
„Yes," the girl who hadn't said anything yet quietly said.
„And?" Percival asked once again and everyone in the room understood that he was growing impatient.
„It is about Hallenby! His father accuses Miss Y/L/N of terrorising his son publicly during the training. He said that he wants her fired or locked up," the girl shivered during the last few words.
„And has she done that?" Percival asked and stood up.
„No, well... perhaps a bit."
„I can't do anything with „a bit"," he said and started to understand what was going on in here.
„Sir, you were there most of the time! You saw that she did nothing wrong!" one of the girls almost cried out.
It was true, the arrogant boy called David Hallenby had had it all coming, he had been acting like a total git during the times Percival had seen him in the training hall. Although Percival knew that Y/N Y/L/N wasn't guilty in this exact „crime", he couldn't shake off the feeling that she deserved it.
„What do you expect me to do?" he finally asked, understanding that he can't just throw the four girls out.
„Perhaps you can tell that to Madame President? They can't punish her for something she hasn't done!"
„Lower your voice, girl," the Director of Magical Security said right after the last girl almost shouted her answer to his face.
„I'm sorry, sir! She can't be sent away from here!" the girl who had been shouting earlier started crying.
„Why do you," Percival pointed at the girls, „care so much?" He still hadn't gotten over the feeling that Miss Y/L/N was nothing but a criminal. A dangerous criminal.
"Me and my family," she cried, " we lost everything when our father died... she found us a small..." she didn't manage to finish her sentence, she started crying too hard.
Percival wasn't visually moved by the crying girl, he raised his eyebrow and waited patiently for someone to continue. One of the girls half-dragged the crying mess of a girl outside.
"She had already applied to be an auror when her father died. She is the oldest child out of 4 and her mother is long gone already. Long story short, after their father's death they were left in debts and Linda," the girl who had started to explain the situation made a pause and almost gasped for air because she had been talking way too fast, "well Linda wanted to leave the programme, to go to work among the no-majs in a factory of some sort. She needed money and a new start..."
"She wanted to break the law?" Percival interrupted.
"Yes! She wasn't thinking straight!" the girl started defending her friend, "When she went to tell Miss Y/L/N about leaving she talked her out of it. She also found a small flat for them to stay at and she helps her out with the money. Her siblings are back in Ilvermorny and Linda couldn't be more grateful. She can't let her be punished just because a spoiled boy's ego got hurt and his father happens to be a retired auror. None of us can."
That was a lot to take in, what if the stories about Y/L/N had been wrong? He needed to read through the file that he had thrown into the drawer earlier.
"I will see what I can do and if it's necessary. Goodbye!" Graves said and waited for the two remaining girls to leave. One of them already opened her mouth to say something but then closed it.
"Goodbye, sir!" they said together and went out.
Percival sighed and finally pulled the drawer open once again.

"Sir! Sighting of Gellert Grindelwald on the 21st street! Two aurors are dead and 3 injured!" his secretary opened the door and shouted. Graves hurriedly put away the file and grabbed his coat. After meeting the other aurors in the corridor they appeared to the 21st street with wands ready to strike. The sight wasn't pretty. Two young aurors were nothing but cold lifeless bodies laying on the remains of a well-known building for Graves. Just yesterday morning had he been here and first heard of Y/N's close relationship with Grindelwald.
"He's gone, no point in looking for him, he is gone," a fellow auror shouted from next to one of the injured aurors.
It was true, the man was nowhere here. After obliviating about 20 no-majs, transporting the injured aurors and five unconscious men from the building to the hospital Graves finally arrived back at MACUSA. He headed right to Madame Picquery's office on her command.
"Graves! What a terrible and long day! Please take the three people who are still in the interrogation room to custody," Madame President said and handed him 4 different keys.
It was nothing unusual for Graves to do so he nodded and took the keys. After all, he was high ranked and respected inside of MACUSA. Picquery didn't trust many people with those keys.
When he walked through the already empty corridors of MACUSA his mind finally found some time to wander back to Miss Y/L/N. He still had no answers. He unlocked one of the interrogation rooms and took out his wand.
"Get up, you're going to be moved downstairs, into your cell," he said and the rather nasty looking man sneered at him. After escorting him and the next two men into their cells without bigger inconveniences he opened the door to the last interrogation room.
He was faced with a disappointed looking pair of grey eyes.
"I have to take you to your cell," he said after a moment of silence.
She said nothing back, she only rolled her eyes and sighed while standing up.
"Well?" Y/N asked after another weird silence.
The two minutes they were heading through the corridors of MACUSA were probably the longest of Percival's life. He opened the cell up and without saying a word she walked in and sat down on the ground. While Graves was locking the cell up a loud sneer echoed through all the cells.
"If it isn't Y/N Y/L/N!"
Y/N's eyes shot up and looked at something or someone. Graves finished messing with the lock and turned around to see who the woman was looking at. It was one of Grindelwald's followers that they had captured already a few weeks ago.
"No talking!" he shouted and his eyes quickly and almost apologetically glanced over Y/N. He had nothing to do here anymore and he was forced to walk away. He walked away from the sight of the prisoners and stopped.
"I would love to congratulate the man who finally managed to lock you up. Y/N, Y/N, Y/N... Long time no see!" the same man sneered.
"Did you swallow your tongue?" he shouted after a few seconds of silence.
"How do you sleep at night, is are the memories keeping you up at night??" he asked without missing a beat, "Answer me!"
There was a weird silence with the question still echoing through the empty cells.
"Better than you, Arthur," Y/N answered with a voice that sent shivers even through Percival's body.
"Ahh! I knew you'd remember me!" the man laughed and the two other men who had been put into the cell beside him joined in.
"You know I sometimes miss the days we had together. It's no fun when they whine and beg for me to stop. It's so much better when they truly think that they can handle it when they silently hope that every next hit will be the last one." The other two whispered something and laughed.
"You're sick!" the woman said calmly.
"If he gets here... No! Once he gets here, we can have fun for as much as we want! Did you think he has forgotten about you? He will come for you!"
The next voice was something Percival didn't expect to hear. Y/N laughed, it sounded almost maniacal.
"I'm betting on it!" she said and they guys shut up.
Percival rushed upstairs and opened the file.

“Little Lady” Part 3 [Percival Graves x Reader]
A/N: I’m quite amazed by your so supporting feedback on this story, thank you loves!
Summary: MACUSA seems to understand that Grindelwald really is in the USA, that doesn’t make things easier for you. Especially when Graves is constantly supervising your classes.
Word Count: 1.5 k
Part 1 Part 2
Tumblr media
"I see no point in..." the arrogant boy started but was cut off by Y/N in a second.
"Yes, I've understood that you find it hard to concentrate on anything else than goggling at poor Miss Evanly here but I really wasn't asking."
Percival was once again sitting at the back of the hall, it wasn't necessary anymore, he had already given in his report on Miss Y/L/N's work. Somehow whenever he had a free hour from work and Miss Y/L/N happened to be dealing with the recruits he ended up spending his time there. Miss Y/L/N didn't seem to mind. To be more honest she didn't seem to notice Percival at all.
"Before you go anywhere, 20 push-ups and then stretches," Y/N said and started doing push-ups herself. In a few minutes everyone left and Percival was already on his way out too when Y/N started talking with him.
"So I'm still under surveillance?" she asked while walking towards the exit, Percival followed her while trying to find the best way out of this.
"It is not surveillance," he finally said and stepped out from the hall. Y/N followed him right afterwards and locked the door.
"Of course it's not," she said and rolled her eyes. She turned and was about to walk away when Percival grabbed her from her shoulder. He was just going to explain that he finds the method she was using for training the aurors interesting, what he wasn't ready for was being forcefully pushed against the wall. That was exactly what happened. For a moment Percival was sure that the woman was going to not only hex but kill him. She had her wand pointed at Percival's face, while she was holding him still with the other hand. As soon as she understood what she had done, she let out a silent whimper and lowered her wand while taking two long steps back.
"I'm sorry," she said and it was clear that her actions had scared herself too, " I'm sorry but don't do that again, never" She almost hesitantly put her hand on her shoulder and closed her eyes only for a second to gather herself.
"I have to go, I need to..," she said without looking anywhere near Percival who was just as taken aback by the actions as the woman, " I'm sorry," she said once again and stormed off.
Percival was confused, more than confused. When he got back into his Office he couldn't help but think about the incident earlier. What exactly had happened? At first, he blamed himself but after a while, he understood that he did nothing wrong. He knew nothing about the woman's past and it was clear that her actions had scared herself too. There was a knock on the door.
"Yes?"
"Madame President wanted you to have a look at these, sir," the young guy said after opening the door. He was holding a few files when he placed them in front of his boss he seemed almost slightly scared.
"What are these?" Mr Graves asked.
"These are the known followers of Grindelwald in New York, yesterday our aurors lost track of them, all of them. It's almost as if they disappeared, sir," he said and left.
Had someone ever opened that door and actually had any good news to share with the Director of Magical Security? There was this one time when he had been informed that the three lost aurors were found alive 2 months after their disappearance but that was about it. No good news ever used that door.
9 wizards and 3 witches who were known for favouring Grindelwald had disappeared over the night. The aurors had been keeping an eye on them, it had been Percival's idea not to arrest them right when the MACUSA had gotten the information. He had thought that if Grindelwald was indeed in USA these people would be the quickest way to them. Now all the 12 were gone, how great!
The next morning started as any other, when Percival arrived in his office he took 3 of the profiles of witches and wizards that he thought could also be involved with Grindewald and appeared from his office.
"We're closed!" a man's voice heard from somewhere when Director Graves opened the door of am old boutique.
"Oh, it's you, sir," the man said with the sort of politeness that was more than obviously faked, " We have nothing for you, sir! As you know, sir, we would let you know right away, sir!" the man continued.
"I'm not here about these criminals, I have 4 more names."
"4 more?" the man gasped, " The world is going crazy these days!" It seemed as if he was telling a bedtime story to his grandchildren, trying to be extremely vivid while doing it. Percival ignored the faked politeness and handed the old man the files he was holding.
"Hmmm... Never heard... never heard.. oh this guy we know!" he said as he quickly read through the pages.
In the same time, Percival took a paper out of his pocket and wrote a name on it.
"And I need all the information you can get on this person," he said and handed the man the note.
"Y/N Y/L/N?" the man asked and raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"Do you know her?" Percival asked a bit too quickly.
"Oh no, no, no, no!" the man stated, " I'm an old man already, haven't been out in business in years. I would like to lie and say that I know her, perhaps that I've even fought with her but no, no I don't now her. All I've heard is stories about this one, " he tapped his finger on the paper.
"What stories?" Percival took a step closer to the man.
"Of course all I've heard might easily be gossip, can you imagine all the people that come here, sir? Some don' even remember when they were born but claim to have been the rightful President of MACUSA! Although my philosophy is that there is no smoke without fire, she can't be as sweet as she might look. If she is here in USA, it can't mean good for any of us, sir, " he stopped and hoped that Percival would give him some answers but he didn't.
"Go on," was all he said.
"As much as I know, she was an auror, working for the Ministry of Magic. A good one but nothing special. When Grindelwald was caught, back when he was nothing as great as he is now, her brother, also an auror, helped the wizard escape. He was sent to Azkaban. She fought for his brother's rights for two years until the Ministry finally gave in and proceeded a veritaserum test on him. She claimed that her brother had been under the Imperius Curse. She had been right. In those two years, Grindelwald had grown into the synonym of evil in Europe and long story short, her brother who had gone almost mad in Azkaban soon joined Grindelwald. She, on the other hand, had grown into one of the most known aurors in the UK. She disappeared from the public and left her job right after her brother was found dead in their family home. Some stories say that she had always been a spy for Grindelwald, from the very beginning. That she had been in love with the man and that they moved from England to somewhere else, because her brother, you see, was the last known victim of Grindelwald in England. Some say that she went mad and went to live in the mountains of Scotland. Some stories say that she died soon afterwards. No one really knows, sir!"
Percival was taken aback by all the information, could Y/N really be a spy? It would make sense, right after her arrival more and more signs of Grindelwald started showing themselves.
"I see," was all Percival managed to say.
"I she here, in America?" the man asked carefully.
"Yes," Percival answered and the man nodded," how much?" he added.
"These are desperate times, sir!" the man went back to his usual faked way of talking.
Percival sighed, he wasn't in the mood for any of this.
"No bargaining," he said and placed three coins, made of gold onto the table.
"I wouldn't ask, sir, unless this task wouldn't be this hard and time consuming..." he stopped when he saw the way Percival was glaring at him. "It is more than enough, sir!" he added and quickly grabbed the coins.
After a minute of just standing outside the door, Percival decided to appear back to his office. He was going to expose Y/N Y/L/N!
