Astro design/name for Crescent's World AU

(Small summary since I don't have an info post to link yet, Crescent's World is an AU where all the toons are infected by Star Sickness, they're all basically in a fever dream. It alters their names and perceptions and such, they all get starry/fancy fits for it since it's kinda masquerade/party themed as well.)

Piece of a WIP for my Shadowvanilla/CRK ocean AU

Still waiting on a new computer so I can finally post a fic about this. Have a small yap as compensation for now.

His design has very big and sharp claws and sharp teeth, very scary looking guy overall, which fits for a siren. But then I considered his larger form could be a defensive one. That for so many years, he's had to stay in that form to protect himself (since he does get quite brutally tortured in this AU) and now doesn't know how to exist in a state with his guard down. How to shift back to his smaller body.

I also think he'd have an impossible time sleeping in this AU, especially around anyone. He doesn't really need to sleep much anyways. But eventually, one day, when he's not paying attention, he manages to fall asleep around PV. Something about the way he carefully and lovingly brushes his hair, or promises him he won't let any harm come to him, it works. He falls asleep right next to him. When he wakes back up, he's smaller again. And surprisingly feels... better. He insists it's a strategical choice to actually be able to fit in doorways, if he HAS to stay here for now.

I think after that PV would make sort of a game for himself trying to get SM to fall asleep around him again. To be as gentle as possible to make him feel that safe again. When SMC catches on he'd act all offended and stuff, especially for being made to play in a game he wasn't even invited to, but would secretly feel happy someone could care that much about him:3

Crescent's World

This AU is literally just me turning all the toons into things that give me gender envy, this one is a lion dragon thing. Based off my sona.

The lore of this AU is all of the toons are inflicted with Star Sickness, making everything kind of like a fever dream and all weird, nobody is normal. They become twisted once the sickness progresses and takes over completely. They'll start bleeding and/or crying out stars:3

Astro is a jester in this btw, err if this reaches 50 notes (way too high to expect, sorgy chat���) I'll post my design of him in this. His name in this is Lumous Luis.

Once they're infected by star sickness their name is also strange lol. Might make this whole thing look very dreamcore with future designs if any get made.

In the middle of drawing this I realized something. The other day I was drawing SMC fanart. After I was done I went to look at other fanarts, thinking, "huh that's weird, why is his light eye on the wrong side lol" but no. I just used a flipped image as a reference, I was the one who had it on the wrong side💔 which inspired this extra doodle

Me trying to cook up a Shadowvanilla ocean/fantasy AU where SMC is a siren and his time in the tree in this version is his souljam being stolen by humans while he's experimented on and PV is a mer who decided to move to land in the woods and grant refuge to magical creatures. He and the other ancients made great progress in the sea, but he and WLC had a desire to learn more of and protect the land.

What was not supposed to happen was WLC becoming corrupted and bringing harm to those she was supposed to help instead. PV is then forced to hide from her and send a warning to the other ancients.

Half of the Souljam was stolen and lost ages ago and of course PV finds it. SMC in this AU is not imprisoned for nearly as long, but this is made up for by the fact he gets tortured daily during jail time😊

Since PV has had the soul jam he's always felt this weird connection, sometimes a voice echoing through, but he mostly can't tell what it says. Until it goes quiet and hasn't spoken to him for 20 years. So he leaves his little sanctuary and tells them all he'll be back after he helps whoever the voice used to be. Plot twist, since the witches are harder to include in an ocean AU, I've decided they're long gone leviathans who are the parents of the beasts, and not the ones who imprisoned them. Just the ones who stole half their soul jam and were very shitty parents actually.

Diversity win! The eldritch, horrific, terrifying leviathan bad parents are yuriful. (To make up for the mean yuri I'll include some nice eternalholly in there somewhere)

More plot twist, DEC is now responsible for the labs that capture and experiment on the beasts. Her quest for knowledge went way too far. Anyways anyways back to the Shadowvanilla of things. PV disguises himself as a human to become an employee at one of these labs, sensing the other half of the soul jam must be somewhere there.

He's kinda nervous to seek it out as he always wanted whoever else had it to seek him out first, but he'll do what he has to if they're in danger. Eventually he ends up being told "Okay. You seem to calm down the worst of the animals we have in here. Promise to never show anyone what we're about to show you because we need your help with a Situation." PV is then horrified to see the company that so far takes excellent care of every animal it has shown him is being studied, has a creature such as a siren kept in this horrific as a state.

He expresses his feelings about it but they basically tell him either comply or they'll feed him to it. He decides he can probably ease it's pain until he finds the soul jam and can rescue them both. Blah blah blah lots of bonding (involuntary on SMC's part) until they escape together!:] Then they live happily ever after (I say, hiding The Tradgedies behind my back.)

EXCEPT I CANT FUCKING WRITE IT BECAUSE THE AO3 CURSE BROKE MY COMPUTER A FEW DAYS AFTER MY LAST SHADOWVANILLA FIC WAS POSTEEEDD AAAUUUGH.

(Dark Cacao and Shadow Milk lowkey act like Greg and Pearl from SU in this dynamic will be explained later in post UNDERSTAND MY MADNESS)

Okay. Listen. Purecacao and Shadowvanilla. Both veeeery popular ships, right? Both AWESOME ships, in fact. Okay. Now what if you just. Gently squished them together to make another ship. What if u squished them into Pureshadowcacao.

And what if when you squished them it started off as SMC accepting PV's friendship. They need a place to lay low because the other beasts r not gonna let that shit slide right. They r gonna think this blonde twink kidnapped their boy.

Okay so after u squished 'em together. Now their dynamic is Dark Cacao and Shadow Milk just barely tolerating each other because PV looks sad once that they're not getting along and they agree not to fight in front of him again.

Gregcore!!/j SMC is seen as a threat by DCC because "I was here first, how did you of all fools so clearly steal his heart?" so they sort of have a little unspoken competition about who can romance PV better.

Subtle things at first, PV has no idea what's going on the whole time. It starts with random lunch dates (sooo platonic ofc/j) and then goes to flowers, hand holding that makes him blush, thoughtful gifts, shows of loyalty. He doesn't understand why his companions are being like this but he can't say he minds.

This idea reminded me of Greg and Pearl like "if u think ur little pathetic bitch ass is gonna steal this gorgeous god ive been romancing and cherishing for years im gonna KILL U" and "I'm here to stay bucko. That's mine now."

To PV, SMC is the one who needs more of his attention because he's trying to show him real and genuine friendship. Not that he's trying to ignore DCC, he's just trying to get to know his new friend better.

So this leads to a conversation between them where Dark Cacao goes "Beast. I must speak with you on our... wager."

"Ooo~ finally throwing in the towel oldy? Realized that you're booring old news by now? So dazzled by my true granduer, you couldn't help but admit bitter defeat!"

"I... am stepping back from this, yes. It would appear clear to me that... for reasons I do not yet know, Pure Vanilla Cookie has chosen you. I am a cookie of respect, so I shall choose not to judge him on his... unwell decision."

"Aha! See! Now wasn't that so hard? All you had to do was realize that I will always win, and that you-"

"I have not finished speaking, jester. Despite my attempt at understanding my dear friend, I cannot. This only leads me to assuming you've done something to him. Yet without proof, I will not intervene. I will, however, slay you where you stand if you dare pose a threat to him."

If PV walked around the corner right now to hear this next part it'd be awful convenient, haha...

"Sheesh! Me? A threat to Pure Vanilla Cookie? No, no no! Ugh, you simply can't stop being suspicious, can you! I've made it very clear by now that I love him, and you can't trust my desire to be of good nature?"

So anyways PV hears the part where SMC is in love with him, realizes he reciprocates, and starts actually intentionally romancing him back. Dark Cacao is just standing there really sad knowing that he's lost and that this blueberry freak had somehow won.

I think SMC would get a little bit bored of not having that game to play anymore, so he'd try and pester Dark Cacao, get under his skin, do anything for that same sense of entertainment as before. Until Dark Cacao finally asks why SMC is still mocking him after winning, isn't hurting him enough already?

SMC, because character development, feels a little bit bad. He asks PV for advice on how to cheer DCC up because he'd lost a bet, and when PV asks what the bet was, SMC could just kinda "Oh. Well. You know, which one of us you loved. Which turned out to be me!"

PV is then very confused because he actually very much loves both of them, he doesn't recall making a choice. So now he's playing matchmaker sort of. Trying to get SMC and DCC to be in a polycule with him like the homo he is. Gotta catch em all or whatever.

Then err uhmm something like a battle with one of the other beasts happens, SMC fights well but gets kinda injured protecting them both, and DCC actually really appreciates that. He sees his loyalty, his strength. He's impressed. He sees SMC and PV napping afterwards or something and gets a sudden urge to hold them both. Which. Oh no. He can't have fallen for two twinks.

BUT HE DID.

Eventually DCC gives a small speech thanking SMC for protecting him and PV, appreciating his efforts and even the irritating joy from his antics. He says he shall like to try to play more chess with him sometime. A warrior is only as strengthened as his mind or something.

Then PV is on a date with SMC somewhere, and brings up the possibility of polyamory. SMC is like "I can't say I'm opposed, but why ask? Who on earthbread is there-" Dark Cacao Cookie. Oh shit.

Then they both romance him, live happily ever after, the end!! I know it would be tense at first with DCC hating SMC's guts for ever hurting PV, but I think he'd eventually come to understand his traumas and find some joy in how his games light up the place. Idk. Man. I worked so hard on all of this just so they could all hold hands. Are you happy? Are you proud of me? I'm not. My psychology final is due in tomorrow. I still haven't started. I'm writing about gay cookies instead.
