Brief intro to My Jason Valhalla au cause im committing to it now (there will probably be no fic)

It's currently nameless so if you have any suggestions gimmie!

So basically the burning maze happens as canon. But instead of going to the underworld or wtv Jason gets scooped up by a Valkyre (probably Sam cause i luv her) and he wakes up on floor 19. Thoroughly confused cause he's dead.....right? He didn't feel dead. Also where were his glasses?

He meets Alex and Magnus freshly back from the Hammer of Thor Quest, and help explain everything (mostly Magnus cause he's been there for longer, even only by a bit)

After The Ship of the Dead/TOA endings and Jason getting accustomed to now being apart of THREE pantheon-things, he finally decides to track down Piper and Leo (first. He sees the others don't worry)

Piper and Leo (ESPECIALLY Piper) are ROYALLY pissed. Though after some explanations from Jason, Magnus, Alex and Sam and Probably Annabeth cause she's gone through the same situation (exept they weren't in the presence of Jason's literal dead body like with Magnus) Piper and Leo are still annoyed. But they understand.

Percy, Annabeth, Frank and Hazel are both happy to see him alive, but pissed he didn't say anything (at least Leo gave them SOMETHING. With the message thingie) Annabeth is pissed at Magnus cause how dare he not mention her friend whom had died was very much undead in the same place he was.

Nico and Reyna are both pretty upset at Jason

Thalia is just happy to see her baby brother alive. But annoyed at him nonetheless. (But hey now they're both immortal warriors)

Apollo is shocked, and a lil mad

Alex is just there for the Drama, but she does help explain stuff.

rick took the time to mention “his gladius in his hand” (301), and maybe i’m reading too far into it because of course it could just be details. but it was no doubt a heroic death that impacted many, including apollo himself.

trials of apollo takes place at the same time as magnus chase. in the final chapter of the ship of the dead, magnus can sense annabeth is crying. maybe rick was just trying to make us cry over jason once more, but then i can’t help but think about the connection in the tower of nero.

Chiron casually mentioning being acquainted with two other pantheons and “discussing a mutual problem” (328). This makes me at least expect a connecting book/series - especially with rachel living next door to the brooklyn house.

magnus has never met jason. never heard of him, let alone know he’s dead. valhalla has so many different faces and stories, and one of them could be jason’s.

sure, he could be in elysium as expected! it would make the most sense for someone like him. but let a girl dream!!

I just went on a search to find some since the last time I read any, it was May 2020 and I lost the fanfic (I’m meaning percabeth)

HOWEVER, I did find two that have reminded me of why I like Percy so much— I think over the last few years I just sort of forgot his personality, especially how he acts with Annabeth. Anyway:

- First started listening to it when he first started to like Will. It felt so cheesy at the time, but once they got together and he admitted it to Will, there was no judgment. Will didn’t judge him for listening to love songs, he didn’t laugh, he just smiled and laid his head on Nico’s shoulder while they listened to it together.

- Nico doesn’t really like to listen to sad music or music he relates to the sad things he’s experienced. He tries to ignore it as best he can, but he just tries to overload his brain with other topics so he doesn’t have to think about other things.

LET THE GIRLS BE IMPERFECT. let Annabeth be mean and snippy to Percy when she's stressed and can't regulate her tone. let Hazel get sick of Leo and Frank's bickering and tell them to get the fuck away from her before she makes them. let Piper demand too much of Jason because she's a nepo baby and forgets that she's not the centre of everybody's world. let them be messy and rude and impatient and hurtful like the boys get to be. let them have emotional arcs that are not simply about learning to treat their boyfriends better. let them have problems that aren't just extensions of the boys' problems. it is not a crime to make teenage girls do things wrong.

One thing I need you guys to know.

Nico is closer to the dead.

Will is closer to death.

The dead and death are TWO. DIFFERENT. THINGS.

Nico is the son of the DEAD. He interacts with souls, and talks to the ghosts of people are already DEAD.

Will is a healer. A war medic. Death is basically where he WORKS IN. Anyone in the medical fields knows you will be experiencing death. Seeing the process of death.

The moment where people leave the living world. And experiencing the grief that follows after seeing someone die.

That is death.

Nico represents the beauty of death. The aftermath. Knowing the soul/ideas and ambitions of the person's life. The person that roamed this world. The voice of someone's life. The memories. What is left of that person.

Will represents the uglier side. The reality of it. The moment someone's string of life goes silent. The moment life leaves, all is left is the corpse. The shell of someone you used to know.

Hence why solangelo's view of the underworld is SO contrasting.

It's black and white. Because both represent different sides. SEEN different sides. They're so similar yet so different at the same time.

Solangelo is the start AND finish of DEATH. Will represents the START of it. Nico represents the END of it.

Two sides of the same coin.

The literal bridge between life and death.

One starting point and one end.

(And if you think about it. If you switcharoo them. Nico can also represent rebirth. And Will represents the end of life, because he's both of that. Maybe I'm stretching but fuck it. They're practically making a circle. The cycle of life and death.)

Types of Videos/Media PJO characters would watch on YouTube (imo):

Jason: Archeology (I feel like he’d be hyped about all the things archeology has to offer)(think of Pompeii, ancient Egypt, etc)

Piper: Commentary YT (esp ones talking about random internet drama)

Leo: Robotic Legos, crafting things (almost anything) or restoring things (like those videos where different rusted or almost broken things get fixed)

Annabeth: History videos or podcasts (I know she likes architecture, but I feel like she’d branch off to other stuff sometimes too)

Percy: Those scuba diving finding things under water videos (like where they dive into rivers and see what they find)

Hazel: Videos about horses, what different crystals and gems meanings are, history videos (finds them interesting), true crime, and also lost media (loves to go on deep dives about how long things have been missing for, and tries to find them on her own, while trying to enlist Nico to help sometimes— he tries for both Hazel and Will sometimes)

Frank: Archery related videos, and sometimes basic medical tutorials (wants to be prepared just incase)

Nico: Greek mythology story videos (like the ones with all the info about the different myths), history & archeology videos (but specific to pirates)

Will: True crime (canon) and lost media (I feel like he’d be so amused by those video compilations of all the lost media found in the last few years)

Michael Yew: Medical tutorial videos, I feel like he’d liked the infirmary and would find anything medical related so SO interesting

Reyna: Would also like commentary videos (helps relax) true crime, and podcasts

Rachel: painting/creative videos (like someone painting, or testing art products, explaining how to do something, etc)
