That’s the reason why so many people don’t participate or are about to leave ACOTAR fandom.
That’s the reason why SJM doesn’t want to interact with you. Because you hate the main characters, make villains of them, and you can’t stop whining about how Rhys is bad, Feyre is dumb, Elain is useless and should grovel for your poor baby Lulu, Mor is sus and not girls girl, Cassian is a loser, how Nesta is a Queen of Queens and should leave her love for Eris, how Gwynnie/Gwen needs to be the main character even though casual readers don’t remember Eris’s name (not to mention hers), Azriel should be with a fanon girl you created in your head so she ‘deserves him’, and you go around blaming people for enjoying the MCs of the book.
Tumblr media
It’s pathetic. If you’re anti-ACOTAR [main characters], then probably you should leave the fucking fandom. Maybe you don’t like these books. You’re not special by liking Tamlin, Nesta, Valkyries, and Azriel. They are good characters, it’s just your fault that you spread hate online, making others hate those ‘perfect characters’.
You think you’re smarter, more educated, and a better reader than everyone else? No. You watch TikTok and then use ‘super duper dope’ theories as if you discovered fucking America. ACOTAR is not TOG, it’s not that complex.
People love Rhysand, SJM loves Rhysand, Feyre loves Rhysand. People love ACOTAR for its simple, yes not perfect, but a fun plot.
Additional: You like Rhysand? You’re just a dumb c*nt who writes letters to mass murders. If I was SJM, I would insulted too. Rhys was/is her favorite character as she had said once.

A rant for Cassian because I want to
(And I’m going to put his friendship and love of Feyre aside for this post because this is meant to be about him and Rhysand.)
Every time I see people criticize Cassian for refusing to enable his mate’s toxic behaviors or for choosing to understand Rhysand’s situation and feelings, I can’t help but wonder…what exactly did they expect from him?
Cassian saw Rhys lose his mother, his father, his sister—and still find the strength to care for his people and dream of a better future for them all. He saw his brother disappear for fifty years, knowing he had to be enduring unimaginable torture just to protect his family. He saw his brother die. He watched him sacrifice everything to save the world and give his family a chance at a good life, even if that meant they’d have to live it without him.
After all that suffering, Cassian finally got to witness Rhys find happiness—he was going to have a love more beautiful than any other, to become a father, to have everything he had fought and bled for. And then he saw it all threatened again. Rhys faced the possibility of losing the love of his life, their unborn child, their hope, their future—everything he and Feyre had fought so hard for.
So yes, if Cassian had a soft spot for the brother who had been there for him in every possible way since the beginning—the brother he’d grown up alongside, who had suffered so much and still managed to give so much of himself to others—I understand that completely. And if he chose not to support someone on their unreasonable hatred toward the people he cared about during a time as fragile as that, I truly can’t blame him.
In fact, I think he did the right thing. Because if someone I was dating disrespected my family—especially during such a sensitive time, and without any logical reason—you can bet I would’ve done much worse than Cassian did. And I say this acknowledging that trauma manifests differently for everyone. But if you only ever focus on your own pain without considering how deeply others are hurting—and on top of that, you make things even harder for them—it will inevitably cost you their presence. No one will stick around forever if they’re constantly being torn down.
Cassian stood by his family during their darkest time and refused to excuse behavior that added more pain. That’s not a failure of loyalty—it’s the truest kind of it. Love isn’t enabling. Love tells you when you’ve made a mistake and when you need to stop, because you’re wrong. At least that’s how it is in my book. And I, for one, will never judge Cassian or anyone else for that.

We really gotta talk about this weird new crop of Feyre antis thinking they're doing some kind of superior, intellectual read of the books by not liking her. “oh the stupid sjm stan.” baby YOU are the stupid sjm stan, obsessively posting about how much you dislike that one blonde white feminist girlboss character and how much you love the other blonde white feminist girlboss character who's only a slightly different version of the previous one lol.

I don't get it. I'll see someone start make a good point and go into that point so hard they make a new nonexistent point forgetting how rediculous the thing they started talking about was.
"Why are people saying Feyre is appropriating Illyrian culture? That's rediculous!"
Yeah that's the dumbest thing I've heard yet about this FANTASY book series.
*proceeds to over explain it until they make a stupid, uneducated example that's actually wrong and kind of ends up dignifying the first dumb stupid thing they were responding to with their response like a endless circle of dumb rediculousness*
I just. . . I can't even begin to comprehend or explain why this is a nightmare to look at. I grew up in the south and watching people young and old just bumbling around acting like their "pc woke opinion" is irrefutably right and sounding like crazy nitwits all the time is just so exhausting.
I write. I write fantasy. I have never considered trying to be published. I don't blame this but when I see how some of yall act on here I thank God that Sara is probably explicitly off social media fully cuz as a woman who takes this genre seriously and takes an artists art seriously no matter how much misogyny tells people to pick apart women's work I wouldn't be surprised if she settled with the money she's made so far and walk away from this world permanently.
I never really see the point in sharing my worlds when it would just be advertised to women who do nothing but bitch and bitch and bitch about what they're reading because the world has convinced them that romance from any where is trash and they're dumb for reading it so this circle of self hatred and projection just goes round and round and round in these communities like this old ass virus we just can't seem to kick.
This rant will never be over in my head. People will bitch at me for calling them stupid but like I'm not wrong. Lots of yall are sooooo just *sigh* none of yall understand these extreme feelings yall have literally stem from misogyny and homophobia (and I'm sure racism from some of the crazier stuff I've seen but that's not my expertise) but what I know for a fact about is the misogyny and homophobia and ablism. That's shit is so stark here. It's weird for it to be so obvious to me and just everybody is playing along with it or arguing against it as if it's a valid thing to debate like it's not the craziest thing ever.

See, I didn't want I say anything... But this girl called me MAGA... Indirectly, still...
FIRSTLY, I'M NOT EVEN AMERICAN 😭😭
Second, I am the very brown people whom you are "defending" from the big bad Feyre Archeron... I am not "I've read about how bad brown people have had it" I AM IT.
You wanna protect brown people? Go attack that "Scandinavian Scraf" they started calling Duppatas, you wanna help us? Go help us in the real world instead of fighting on the internet with a character's stans...
Like... "All Feyre fans are like this" idk maybe cause you came to a pro Feyre place and then when you were dragged (rightfully so) then started screaming MAGA... Also, you implied my friend might be suicidal by sending "suicidal prevention" links, which is just...
And what is it with Americans who think that the whole world is America? Like I've never seen someone from outside America call someone else MAGA...
"I saw it was a pro Feyre post but got curious" Everything else you say is null and void after that. You made the mistake of checking something you knew you hated, and then you decided to comment your hate on it
Also, incredibly weird you think brown people need defending from a bunch of fictional books, but hey, what do I know? I'm probably MAGA right :) when there is more of a chance of someone you are talking to not being American, than for them to be...
And see, I too, love defending people of colour, like Rhysand, Cassian, Azriel- Oh, you're anti batboys, sorry... My bad, I didn't defend the right brown people...
Funny how there was probably like maybe 1 American in the post, yet still everyone got called MAGA... You don't like some people? They're MAGA now :) Being so white centric that you just assume people are American and thinking we brown folks are just something you have to defend from the big bad fiction world kinda gives a weird taste in my mouth...

No, because SJM going completely silent for a whole year is actually wild to me. Like, she has one of the biggest and most passionate fandoms, and yet she hasn’t stepped in to address any of the chaos that’s gone down in the meantime. Obviously, I don’t expect her to single-handedly stop all the hate, but she could have set the record straight on some things.
The amount of controversy, conflict, and toxicity in this fandom over the years has only been made worse by the long gaps between books—without any updates from her. It’s just given people time to regurgitate, fabricate, twist, misinterpret, and completely redefine things that were originally very simple. And honestly? It sucks. It would’ve shown a level of care for the fans who go out of their way to defend these books if she had spoken up against the more ridiculous claims going on.
Like, the amount of hate Rhys and Feyre have gotten? The scandal over the pelvis talk?? At the very least, she could’ve addressed something. It’s been three years since ACOSF, and we’re still waiting—not even for a book, just for an announcement. It’s honestly a little disappointing.
(I still appreciate her for the good books. Sorry for the rant, I’m just a bit frustrated.)

My hot take is that all the haters are going to lose their minds once this series wraps up. Rhys didn’t turn evil, Feysand didn’t split up, Nessian didn’t fall apart, Nesta didn’t leave or try to rule some "Dusk Court," and in the end, everyone gets their happy ending.

I don't care what anyone says - Rhys threatening Nesta after she told Feyre her baby was going to kill her, and breaking Kier's wrist because he called Feyre a whore was hot.
And I don't appreciate people trying to take that away from me.

I only just opened Tumblr and I already saw another person in someone's comment section calling Amerantha an icon. I'll go back to my nice little nontoxic acotar corner again.

Rant post. Keep it moving.
I bet People who think Rhys is evil and did a bunch of horrible things to Feyre despite being under duress (which anyone with two working braincells should know has always put people in hard situations like his) also think Rowen is the best love interest in the Maasverse. I like him too but he beat the dog shit out of Celeana when he first met her and it was of his own free will and everything. I still totally get why but I think it's really interesting people in this Fandom gave Rowen the benefit of the doubt while making Rhys out to be this awful evil fae lord who also just so happens to be a victim of SA and isn't quite as masculine as other MML in this genre. Always makes raise an eyebrow at the people swearing up and down that he's awful but it's giving that they only read the first book and only picked through the cliffnotes of the rest but mostly it's giving people with unchecked bias against victims of what he went through. You could go through every bit of evidence that Rhys isn't evil and is actually constantly overwhelmed by guilt and ptsd but in the end these people either didn't read past the 1st book or their assholes who just don't want to admit they're using every possible excuse including straight up lying about what's in the series to hate on a more feminine style male character who is a victim of SA.
And I won't continue to go back and forth about this in this Fandom. The misogynistic homophobic bull crap that yall wrap In a pretty pink "feminist" bow, disguising your awful bigoted behavior as woke and progressive when it's actually a bunch of new age purist conservative shit masquerading as left leaning mock speech. Rhys, Mor and the Acheron sisters are all pretty well made characters (so far) in this series and I love every book so far that Sara has written and it was so fucked up to see people literally calling him a rapist when everything he did had a reason and he was actually a victim of SA. This is not some theory. This is cannon because Sara says it's cannon. And I can't stress this enough but people who read books just to project hate onto them because they hate themselves for liking more sexy romance should just chose not to read if all they're going to do is use it to fuel more negative shit in this already fucked up world.

This. Yes. And what I really wish we saw was the conversation between Amren, Feyre, and Rhys when she found out in Silver Flames. I'm hoping there's a reason we didn't see it because they obviously didn't end it after. I like to think that the instincts between mates are extremely high, and if they actually like each other, heaven forbid stuff like this happens a lot. I mean, it's kind of the whole point of Rhys and Tamlins' back stories together. To talk about how CRAZY mating bond drama can get and how easily it leads to everyone dying anyway.
But you're absolutely right that agreeing to die together even after having a child and holding the fate of the night court and maybe the world in the fact that at least one of you needs to continue existing. It's extremely weird and adds so many, in my opinion, unnecessary stakes that no one in this story, nyx included, should have to worry about. Especially with everything else on the line.
I’m tagging this post as anti rhysand and anti feyre even though i’m not, just because this opinion of mine probably belongs in those tags🫠
I absolutely DESPISED their bargain that if one died the other one would too. And i hate it when people say “they’re allowed to be selfish for once” (in my opinion feysand was selfish many many times but anw) Like you have a child now? Find a way to break that bargain, imagine Nyx losing both of his parents.
I find that stupid and immature idc🤷‍♀️
I’m not really anti feysand although in my opinion they had a lot of flaws, but this post is definitely anti thoughts about them so yea
