my friend is helping me with my story and she said my main character is great but it's missing his "flame", the thing that makes him wake up everyday, what makes him want to live, but i don't know how to even think of it. i don't know what makes me want to wake up everyday, i don't think i have a real example what is someone's flame...

Queer rights may be about our right to be normal- to be normal couples, to live normal trans lives, to be normal people. But queer rights are also about our autonomy to be odd. We are QUEER, after all- weird, odd, not normal. And that is something that was originally imposed upon us, but we have taken it. It is ours now. Because lgbt rights are about our right to be normal, yes, but it is also about bodily autonomy! It is about our right to live our lives with odd genders and weird relationship structures and queer bodies. Assimilation might sound like a fine way to escape prejudice- but quite frankly, it doesn't matter. Because we are not just fighting for our rights to live like cishet people, we are also fighting for our right to live without having to worry about putting a toe out of line. We are queer, and we always will be. We won't really be free until we can live our lives as odd, as strange, as queer as we want.

No offence but some younger queer people heard "nonbinary is not a third gender" and interpreted that as "no nonbinary person identifies as a third gender".

And some people heard "nonbinary people are outside of the gender binary" and interpreted that as "no nonbinary person identifies as a binary gender. no nonbinary identifies as both 100% a man AND 100% a woman because that's not outside of the binary". (????)

And some younger nonbinary people seem to have internalised "well I'm nonbinary and I don't feel that way so you're wrong", even though the entire point of being nonbinary is that there's literally infinite ways to experience gender.

What I'm trying to say is, there's an identity entirely built around not fitting into narrow boxes, and yet a hefty chunk of our own community seems hellbent on forcing us into boxes anyway.

Kinda hate that when talking about autism being a disability, some people only focus on the sensory part and ignore every other trait that can be disabling, or minimize those. Autism isn't only about sensory issues and these are not the only thing that make us have difficulties and be disabled.

Communication difficulties, social difficulties, difficulties with emotional regulation, rigid thinking, executive dysfunction, etc, are also traits that can be very disabling, and cause meltdowns and shutdowns, btw.

Not saying that sensory issues are not important, they are but they are not the only thing that make autism a disability.

this is so important for us to hear because we are met with these "requirements" to be accepted. since i understood im non-binary, i saw so many people saying i should be after an androgynous appearance to be enby and i dont feel like it. i dont want to take hormones, nor do i want to change myself to fit anything. ill do what makes me happy yes but not because of expectations of what i should be or look like

Passing is not an obligation btw and whether or not you’re passing as cis does not make you more or less trans. If you’re not interested in passing, you’re valid and great. If you’re not able to pass currently but plan to, you’re valid and great. If you’re not able to pass at all because of whatever reason and you won’t be able in the future, you’re valid and great. You aren’t doing “too little”, you aren’t “not trying hard enough”. There’s no getting A+ in being trans. You’re fine, you’re great, you’re valid.
