okay I need to know more about sprucesnout's double forbidden half clan polycule. do his kits have different mothers (i.e. were some of them mothered by pepperstep and the others by brightclover)? are pepperstep and brightclover also mates? if not, do they know that sprucesnout has two mates? are they alright with it?

SO! THE FORBIDDEN HALF CLAN POLYCULE!

I like to imagine that the three of them are childhood friends, kinda? Like, they were all apprenticed at around the same time. Pep and Bright were already crushing on each other, slow burn tiptoeing their way towards being mates, but Bright and Spruce were good Gathering friends, so they all ended up hanging out a lot?

Pepper had a bi panic about Sprucesnout after she and Bright made it official, which Bright thought was adorable. Spruce was either completely oblivious to this, or trying to self sabotage himself because he was sure that there was no way the girls liked him like that. Fidgetwing was very Tired during this period of their life.

They definitely ended up comforting him after Fidgetwing died in Moon 62, and became mates shortly after??? This is a very rough timeline, considering the fact that the Saplings were born not two moons later, but shhhhhhhhhhh, it works.

This is Pepperstep! She's a FloodClan molly, and she was the mother of the Saplings! Pep's a big sweetheart. She's not a big talker, but her love language is acts of service. She's an amazing swimmer, and makes a habit of bringing Sprucesnout and Brightclover pretty fish scales and stones she finds along the FloodClan shores.

My personal headcanon is that she saw Sprucesnout and Riftstar fall into the river back in Moon 45, and helped rescue them? Yes, I know I didn't draw it. Shhhhhhhh. Don't worry about it, it totally happened.

And then we have their mutual mate, Brightclover, who's a WingClan cat living up on the mountainside. She's quite a bit rowdier than Spruce or Pep, loud and cheerful and always willing to throw hands. She's incredibly open about how much she loves her mates, to the dismay of some of her more traditional clanmates. Didn't carry the Saplings because the idea of kitting made her nervous, but then she got embarrassed that she was nervous. She's determined to have the next litter.

Rainmask becoming deputy is so funny because there is now a chance he could become leader down the line (Rainstar does have a ring to it)

MAN, i just read through all of this and I'm really hooked. I love these characters and story and your art, so so tasty. This is the first ClanGen comic that made me choke up over a death, and it happened TWICE. Excited to go from here!

Hello!! Just read through your entire blog, I adore the shapes you put on these cats! :D

I think I missed a bit of outside context about the missing cats though! I know Heronkit and Willowdew died ( :[ ), who are we still missing/everyone still alive/any headcanons for where they have ended up?

(for example if the kits stayed together or got adopted out or something? ^^)

I love the characters, an Burdock fascinates me in a way I can't quite describe, but I think it has something to do with how different life in a Clan must be for her after spending the (iirc) majority of her life either alone or on the streets! Thanks so much for doing this comic <3

Aww, thank you for the ask! Burdy is actually a personal favorite of mine in WyrmClan. I just think she's neat. : )

As for our missing cats: The survivors are Marcy, Rattail, Pricklekit, Rookrise and Timberkit. Willowdew and Heronkit are in StarClan.

Marcy - She's was already a former kittypet, so she knows how to behave around Twolegs to get by. Marcy was spayed at a local vet office and was adopted out to a Twoleg family, but she's been working on ideas to escape for moons. She's still determined to get home to her clan and kits.

Rattail - I can see him being picked up to be a barn cat. I'd like to imagine that he's the furthest away from WrymClan territory. He's probably very homesick and hopes his kits and grandkits are doing well.

Pricklekit - Same as Marcy, she probably would have been picked out to be a kittypet because of her looks and size. Probably spent a lot of her kithood in a purrito because the humans were trying to socialize her. Has horror stories about getting FIV tested. "They stole my blood for their weird rituals, I swear!" (She was negative)

Rookrise - Tore her way out of a mesh carrier. Working out how to open metal crates. Has the power of StarClan and anime on her side. :)

Timberkit - Twolegs want to make her a kittypet, but she's been returned to the local shelter five times due to behavioral issues. Described as 'unsociable' and having 'too much energy'. Her last attempted owner said that it seemed like she was destroying her house out of spite. This was 100% true.

Im so glad you asked! :) They're half-clan kits! It's very funny, actually, I'm pretty sure Spruce is in some kind of interclan poly relationship and I have circumstantial evidence to back this up.

Evidence! Sprucesnout in game has been seen touching noses with cats from both FloodClan and WingClan. This is, of course, highly suspect criminal behavior. Therefore, polycule.

For real, I have art and everything. He has two wives named Pepperstep and Brightclover. I'm at work rn but will throw you the refs later.

Which cats have had the most students under their tutelage/training?

Riftstar had the most apprentices with four! Rift trained Fiercestar, Ivyshine, Wheatstalk and Swallowstripe.

After him it's a tie between Fierce and Rags, who both have had three apprentices.

Fiercestar had Icyclaw, Goldenoak and Conemoss. Raggedspeckle had Waterstep, Sprucesnout and is currently training Jumblepaw.
