Update of an update

I hate not providing just content here and instead becoming more personal and open here about certain struggles. But it is important because I do know a few people do count on me, and it needs to be talked about more in the creation industry I feel. As I know I'm not the only one, I can't be.

So turns OUT I had an underlying chronic illness (likely from complex childhood stuff) which means a lot of stuff has been (per usual) put on hold until I have enough energy to create certain things.It's been like this for years, but I attributed my lack of energy and schedule to stressors. Which wasn't far off.

What does this mean for any projects?

So just like before, I still have been working on requests. I will refuse to do commissions for similar reasons. But it just means it will take longer to pump out quality work. 🤷‍♂️ I can provide in progress stuff for those requested if necessary, as I know how I can feel to feel ignored, but it will be some time before I can push out works in a way that won't strip away my energy to even survive. And believe me, I have quite a bit of content to publish. Some finished, some not.Until that time comes though, I will not be very active. If anyone has tips on chronic illness or disabled friendly content creation tips though, I'm definitely open to them.

Encanto Tarot Sketch

Bruno's vision set the whole stage of Encanto's timeline. It brought forth drastic change; fast.

Once Mirabel found it, put it together, and the family found out about it, everything changed in the blink of an eye.

Without Mirabel or even the vision, the ending may never have occurred. The family would have still been distanced, broken, pulled at the strings.

Meaning in tarot

The chariot is a card of change. It is the card in the major arcana that can symbolize change is on its way, and usually means fast moving change.

I felt restless and icky last night and was trying to comfort my inner self because of stirring trauma stuff that came up.

I listened to some music and asked if they wanted to draw. But no perfectionism like usual. So this was the result. It's not perfect, but I'm still learning. Keep in mind I only used one posing reference so I would stop like drawing and redrawing.

Basically this drawing is post 3x03 Hunter fighting Belos in an AU. He finally gets to fight off someone who caused nothing but pain and suffering. The final battle where it all comes to an end for him. I made a storyline in my head too.

The fool in tarot symbolizes youth, new beginnings, and child-like wonder. It can also indicate not looking before you leap, being hasty, and childish.

Antonio getting his room was a *perfect* choice for this card. He was terrified of getting a new beginning (his door), but he also had no idea what laid ahead of him, truly.

Know what I’m salty about?

In all my art classes, I was never taught HOW to use the various tools of art.

Like yes, form, and shape and space and color theory and figure drawing is important, but so is KNOWING what different tools do.

I’m 29 and I JUST learned this past month that India Ink is fucking waterproof when it dries. Why is this important? Because I can line something in India Ink and then go over it with watercolors. And that has CHANGED the ENTIRE way I art and the ease I can create with.

tldr: Art Teachers: teach your students what different tools do. PLEASE.
