soap the horror fan. he’ll discover a movie he’s never heard of and watch it the same day. he’ll criticize whether or not the blood is realistic enough and guess if it’s corn syrup with food coloring or cherry juice. he likes when movies are corny and cliché and play up the anticipation of the killer appearing. ‘we’re not watching killer klowns again, i’m so sick of that movie’, ghost protests. ‘we haven’t watched it in months, just this once?’ soap pleads. which is a lie, they watched it two weeks ago. he loves found footage films. ‘creep’ genuinely made him afraid of being home alone for a while. he dressed up as a horror character from a movie nobody had ever heard of for Halloween and went home disappointed. he watched said movie to deal with it.

do y’all think soap ever thought about how his death would affect ghost. not in a traditional sense, but more along the lines of how each bullet out the barrel would be in soap’s name. every slash of a knife with the memories of soap using ghost’s blade after las almas surfacing. how many nights did soap stay up knowing that even after he met his maker, he’d continue to haunt ghost’s narrative? did he think about how much ghost would change? could he continue to love the man he left first, even if it wasn’t his choice? he knew none of this would last. no matter how much he would wish and pray, they never had a different ending in the cards. he signed his life away the moment he enlisted. soap always wanted to be a martyr but did he ever think about the stain?

soap tries to make the best of a muggy rain filled op by tapping his boots in the mud in patterns while they wait on exfil. gaz slowly losing his mind from the tapping tackles soap and the wrestle in the mud with two exasperated ncos behind them. price doesn’t even need to scold them because nikolai makes them wash out the heli. least there was no mud around this time because both of them ended up soaked in soapy water.

ghost who bakes in secrecy. not because he’s embarrassed, no. he likes the idea of keeping it to himself, having this one thing for himself only. he makes soap a lemon custard cake for his birthday. soap can’t believe how good it is and asks where he got it from. ghost stills for a moment and names a bakery that doesn’t exist, because he knows soap won’t actually seek it out. price gets a box of cannolis. ghost mentions that imaginary bakery had a new batch this morning. gaz has to put a box of raspberry jam cookies in the fridge or else he'll finish three rows in one night. that imaginary bakery seems to always know what everyone likes in detail.
