chip supposedly having a difficult choice waiting for him in the hole in the sea is hurting me because... does he even have a choice anymore? chip is compelled to follow the compass hes compelled to save arlin hes compelled to follow niks instructions hes compelled to not interfere with gillions deal. sure he has control over what he does day by day, but in the grand scheme of things? hes been caught in a rip current and he cant even try to swim for shore

After around a month, it’s finished! Finally! I made the mistake to hand this in for one of my finals so you can see the quality decline as it progressed lol.

i think the horror of the black sea is an unexplored goldmine so here is an unorganized list of my thoughts about some stuff that makes me foam at the mouth (cw overall horror, decay/rot, gross things, maybe gore?, canon-typical black sea arc things)

all of the fish died. all of them. it probably smelt like rotting fish for MONTHS, if not years.

not to mention the skeletons of said fish washing up on the shores.

how long did it take for the residents to notice that their neighbors were different? that the corruption was taking a toll on them? in a rolled, grizzly mentions the former mayor of the town that the survivors were in had been a character holed up in his house that Ate People.

the fucking raft soldiers at the stronghold who had run themselves on their swords rather than succumb to the corruption

grizzly talked abt this like Once in discord but RAFT had evacuated a few groups of people in the immediate aftermath of the hole in the sea, but there's probably groups of people who didnt make it out in time and sunk. and it was closed for like ten years imagine the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean

captain widow's crew targeted clerics. also wait side note; star is a cleric of aster so it's interesting why RAFT didn't have more investment in what was (assumedly) an aster-worshipping area...
