this pride, i learnt about the Palestinian trans woman Oscar Al-Halabiye, dancer and resistance fighter against the israeli occupation in Southern Lebanon. she named herself Oscar after Lady Oscar from the "The Rose of Versailles", a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Riyoko Ikeda.

her story is documented in Cinema Fouad(1993). zionists use pink washing to reinforce their genocidal terrorist narrative when queer Palestinians have been fighting against the occupation since the very beginning. you can watch it here with english subtitles. long live the intifada!

there is something horrifically grim to it, but illustrations for gaza and palestinians tend to catch more mass attention that actual photos of people. this made me feel incredibly helpless for a long while, seeing both how people would rather look at a neat drawing of red black green and white than look a human in the eyes, and how online platforms would rather push a viral drawing while suppressing those begging for help at the same time.
a way to cope with this feeling has been taking advantage of it to directly guide people to helping palestinians.
if art gets better traction, then there’s an incredible amount of good that can be done by creating art that immediately links to fundraisers. creating art of the many images of those who are asking for help.
within hours of posting my drawing, there has been jumps in the thousands for bashar from gaza’s fundraiser. it’s a small effort in the grand scheme of things. it’s not a fix it. but it’s something good. please take care of each other and do what you can. i think this could help a lot of people if a lot of people did it.
here is bashar. i’ve drawn him, spoken to him, and known him now for a few months. any shares help, any art helps. draw who you see, draw what you see. thanks all

catherine pasley - 1810s socialite - download (google drive)
i did @8onfire's challenge. because i usually make historical skins (or skins inspired by history, lol) i decided to make a nice little regency get-up for lady pasley. i imagine her to be somewhat shy and nerdy. this isn't my normal style, in fact i like to have a lot more detail!! but i thought this would be fun to test how much detail i could do in twenty minutes with a limited palette, and tbh im happy with it!
this probably wont go on my pmc because i like to keep it clean but there is a google drive download should you *truly* desire ms catherine for whatever reason!

✨🍄 the big babygirl is done! 🍄✨
1 2 giant mushroom greenhouses (not counting the many other farms built into this)
this took so long, I'm glad to finally be able to show the results

more pictures and drawings below the cut!
this was such a blast to do, it turned out better than I ever expected
it even has a functional light-well running down the center!
i'm very proud of this and am looking forward to doing another build soon!
massing model:

bonus oddity: the sun setting during a thunderstorm sends beams of light across the valley
