My goals for this project were to become familiar with word press and create website that I can use for my photography.  It was a good experience learning how to do this because as a photographer, its important to brand yourself and have a website people can look at and potentially reach out to you.  It also creates a sense of professionalism having your own website as well.  

I really like the simplistic black and white of my monogram, which I also continued throughout my website.  I tried to keep it simplistic because I thought that looks more professional and also is less distracting from my work.  I wanted to go for something clean and simple with my logo so I made two separate layers with my initials, YN, and overlapped them so they made an obscure figure, which I think looks interesting.

Rough Draft of Adobe XD Design

I decided to create my infographic on David Beckham’s career after reading the article talking about his transition from playing soccer to becoming an owner.  I made the background a similar green to the grass and made the halfway circle to mimic a soccer pitch.  I decided to make each text box the colors of the team he played for at the time. I found majority of the HEX codes for them online, however, some of the teams didn't have that information available so I did my best to recreate the colors.  I also did a clipping mask to make my dominant image fo Beckham in action.

I chose to incorporate David Beckham’s overall stats between all the teams he's played for, as well as the logos of the teams he’s played for throughout his career.  The infographic goes more in depth with his performance for each team, while this is a representation of his overall career.

I’ve chosen to do my infographic on the evolution of David Beckham because I was reading an article relatively recently which talked about his transition from the LA Galaxy to new club in Miami called Inter Miami CF.  Thinking about this recent move, and his extensive career path throughout the world of soccer, I thought it would be interesting to use an infographic to visually represent his journey through soccer.  His soccer career started when he played for Manchester United, which would be the first image with him in his uniform and then it would transition from all the teams he’s played for and finally ending with Inter Miami CF, where he will transition from a player to an owner.  I found a font on Dafont.com which was very similar to the font used for the most recent Fifa World Cup.  The color palette will be chosen based off the colors of the Manchester United logo posted here as well.

This GIF is based off of an article discussing why schools should have to start later due to children’s sleep cycles not getting enough sleep and teenagers not being able to go to bed earlier than 11.  I thought this was very relatable, so I decided to make a student sleeping at his desk, and he is dreaming about his alarm clock going off at 8:30 since many students at the moment have to wake up at 6 - 6:30 to get ready for the school day.

Thrasher Magazine is an authentic skateboard publication located in San Francisco, California.  They cover a wide variety of skateboarding content including skater profiles, highlighting new skate videos, and they even have their own show in correspondence with Viceland.  They’ve been a staple within the skateboarding community, but their logo and identity have grown past the subculture, becoming a well known brand across the globe.  

The design decisions I made were pretty simple.  I chose the Thrasher logo since it is iconic and well known throughout the world.  Then I chose images that showed the essence of skateboarding culture.  Grinding rails and skating through fire show the fearlessness and creativity that skateboarding instills into skaters.  I also chose Andy Roy, Michael Burnette, and Jake Phelps because they’re the main faces of thrasher magazine.  Finally, skate and destroy is another well known Thrasher font, and the saying represents the true, authentic vibe of skateboarding.

I chose Thrasher Magazine as the organization to create a mood board for. Some words that describe the organization are innovative, renowned, respected, anti-authority, edgy, and gnarly. Unfortunately I could not post the mood board layout on this post, so I will post it directly after this.
