immaculate PR stunt. that "public breakup" was a genius way to reveal Rumi's birthmarks.

FIRST releasing new song "Takedown" WHILST FIGHTING ONSTAGE at the idol awards, THE most iconic and prestigious award show? the coverage guys. plus the song's double meaning is sooooooo aaaaAAA. it's "industry safe," since you can definitely project ill feelings towards an ex being a demon, AND it made for an amazing TAKEDOWN of Rumi's walls, the girls (seemingly) forcing her to finally reveal herself. her SCREAM. her "demon form???" tragically beautiful special effects.

ANDDDDD thing is, that isn't even supposed to be Zoey and Mira. they're representing DEMON CONJURATIONS of themselves. they're insecurities in Rumi's head, expanding the demon symbolism SO WELL. "a demon with no feelings don't deserve to live??" LITERALLY WHAT someone hug her. also the curtains are not just blue, the patterns on those Saja Boys' "demon forms" look just like Rumi's birthmarks!!! i mean cmon guys, it's HUNTR/X.

btw insane effort from a PR boy band, Soda Pop is my jam. my shoulders cannot stop.

THEN the supposed Saja Boys' free concert in light of the girls' "public breakup," turning out to be a HUNTR/X FREE CONCERT, where the girls all show up despite the group only just "breaking up," KILLING the LITERAL INDUSTRY PLANT demons that is (was?) the Saja Boys. the VISUALS yall i cant. the most demons i've seen them have. the demonic fire was so gargantuan too. and they FREAKING RELEASE ANOTHER BANGER SONG??? (the queer undertones of it go crazy.) WHILST FIGHTING ONSTAGE. again guys the PARALLELS. all alongside the. most. insane. effects. i have ever seen in my life. the darkness absolutely met the light.

it's the PERFECT COMEBACK.

we got Golden, Takedown, and What It Sounds Like ALL in a matter of weeks. (weren't they supposed to be on break?? they always be saying that 😭) id say the Golden first live performance hiccup is well made up for now. not like it was even in their control in the first place with Rumi's vocal health randomly deciding to tweak. 💕

a masterclass of a show. who tf is their PR team. not even surprised if the girls did this themselves; personally i was hyped asf the whole time. AND Rumi doesn't have to hide anymore! her birthmarks are so pretty guys. 💜

HUNTR/X don't miss. they just don't.

Look I'm sorry to anyone who thought the Saja Boys were a real band, but it was obviously fake from the beginning.

Huntr/x has been doing this gimmick for years where they'll put on a performance and some actors dressed up like demons will "interrupt" it or get into some choreo fights on stage and stuff. If you're a fan you know, the demons usually symbolize things like industry corruption, Mira's struggle with her family, Rumi being in the closet, etc, and there's lots of hints and secret messages to the fans in what they're wearing or how they show up. Check out huntresx5evah on blsky they've got an extensive examination of the "demons" over the years and what the messages to the fans are.

In the concert before Golden was released, the demons were dressed like flight attendants. That was the indication that something new was about to take off. @/queenhuntrixdontmiss and I speculated that it was going to be a new single and low and behold, it was.

But then the live performance got cancelled. It's an open secret that Rumi was having vocal issues, so that was probably not planned. They needed to buy time for her to recover, so, enter the Saja Boys -- a fake band of guys really clearly pretending to be demons, they release ONE single, do a bunch of b-tier variety shows for a week, nearly all of their public appearances have Huntr/x right there, keeping the hype and energy up until Rumi can get her throat polyps removed and furthering the routine where Huntr/x are supposed to be secret demon hunters and the Saja Boys are supposed to be secret demons.

Then the whole thing culminates in the Golden live performance at the idol awards, the big act with Huntr/x fake "break up" and the subsequent theatrics to make it up to fans for failing the first Golden performance. Huntr/x takes their obligation to fans very seriously, I've no doubt that they all felt terrible about having to cancel, so a free show was the obvious recourse to try and make it up to people. And they pulled out all the stops!

But the Saja Boys were never real. I mean they got real guys to pretend to be a boy band and do the dancing and lip syncing obviously, but come on, most of them didn't even have names.

if you found rumi's final battle switch up fast... here's my proposal

saw another post that I CANT FIND talking about how they would've loved to see rumi absolutely crash out even MORE and WITH JINU. and highkey, thats a really fucking good idea. im sure i'm not the only one that found that rumi's resolve kinda jarring, and so... my imagination started cooking.

picture this:

rumi's come to face gwi-ma. she's angry, bitter, broken. she says and does everything the same up until her FAST AHH SWITCH UP where her eyes become human again.

instead, her eyes both go demon. she COMPLETELY CRASHES OUT and seeks to DESTROY gwi-ma. blaming him, blaming the demons. she's doing exactly what Jinu said he couldnt. she's going to destroy gwi-ma with hate.

she doesnt fucking care, she's FUMING, FIGHTING AND KICKING ASS.

but as she's doing this, her swings leave blood-red scars in the honmoon she's built. it only brings on more demons.

gwi-ma: "[smugly] you've really come to fight me now?" rumi: "[manic laughter, still swinging] now? NOW? [in demon voice] i've been fighting you my whole life!"

rumi: "[normal voice] hiding you! my whole life. [mumbling, seething] i've come to fix it. to face you, [in demon voice] ERASE YOU... (picture the red rippling of the honmoon) even if it erases me.

gwi-ma: "oh? [chuckling, seemingly unfazed, like he's seen this millions of times before] but it's different this time."

gwi-ma: "this time, you're alone."

then, gwi-ma grabs rumi's girls from the crowd. zoey and mira, in the air, engulfed within his purple flames, ready for public execution. abby and mystery are at their respective girls, and gwi-ma is going to drink up their souls.

rumi blinks. one of her eyes are now human again.

rumi: "[normal voice, frantic] NO- zoey! mira! (the animation pans between each girl and their empty expressions as rumi screams their names. their brilliant blue souls are leaving.)"

gwi-ma: "did you really think you had nothing to lose? there's always shame."

rumi's human eye is tearing up. cue the audio of jinu's voice saying "if i could have defeated gwi-ma with hate, i would've done it a long time ago." and some sort fast one-frame-each-memory flashback montage of the girls, from childhood to adulthood, all singing "We are Hunters, voices strong,". she blinks again. now both eyes are really hers. not her demon's. but her's.

she doesn't continue going batshit crazy. she starts... to sing.

BAMMMM BAM BOOM. then basically the same thing that happens in the movie happens. and zoe and mira still get to kick abby and mystery's asses! so yea instead of rumi just like busting straight into song, there's like buildup? i feel like it makes jinu's sacrifice more impactful since HE KNOWSSSS what it's like, except NOW they're all using love and togetherness and jinus soul as a sword to beat gwi-ma. i'd say it also reinforces 'What it Sounds Like' more, with rumi's resolve and acceptance being cos of HER GIRLSSSS. and i get to see a pretty girl crash out poetically! also sorry i lowkey baited yall i dunno how to incoporate jinu vs rumi into this LMAO. BUT IF SOMEONE CAN PLEASE DO AND FREAKING TAG ME!! but i also really really like the movie's ending soooo. this was just kinda self-indulgent :)
