Why write daily?
I just started my online course on Professional Writing and Editing in May of this year. I want to become a Writer as an addition to my portfolio. Been so slow in this process. As I see it, it might take me a long time to build up my skills in writing and editing… if I don’t do it on a daily basis.
Why I took this course?
More than three years now, I just can’t stop thinking about it! Until one day, I was talking to my husband and told him, I listed the things that pop-up in my mind more often, the word “writing” is number two in the list. I already did number one which is entrepreneurship course in the University of Adelaide in 2008. So, crazy this thought! That would mean I would start from scratch…
And finally in May 2015, I am enrolled in the course. It’s not just a dream now. The next challenge is to be committed in writing. I need tons and tons of effort to make writing as my daily hobby. Along with it, I should also be reading for at least an hour to reinforce my ideas with other materials and resources. Now, I am starting this Blog in Tumbler so that I would be committed to getting on to daily writing.
For self-reflection and self-clarification
Here’s a few things I want to share with you, the lessons I learned from among the writers in my daily readings.
Two important points from writer Leo Babauta. First, it gives us the chance to reflect on our own life. Self-reflection is the key to see our life and the changes that goes with it. Sometimes, we just go on with life without realising how things evolve and how it affects others and us. Second, it clarifies our thinking. Everyday we are loaded with so many thoughts, ideas and feelings but it is being made clear when we begin to put it down in writing.
He added, writing daily helps us improve our writing, helps understand customers point of view, prepares us to deal with certain audience who are interested in what we would like to share to the world. The key is to constantly write, to keep our ideas flowing and develop one good topic to share to our interested readers.
Hence, if you are one of those interested in writing, it’s never too late to learn. Start now and get into the challenge. This digital age will be needing more of us “writers in the making”.

WHERE ALL THAT FRUITS ACTUALLY COME FROM?
Identifying fruit names. Name that fruit around me … some are familiar, some are not~ Among the familiar ones are passion fruit, pear, apple, strawberry, avocado, orange, mandarin, papaya, grapes and more. That fruit on top photo is the one that intrigue me. What is the name? and where it come from? … Is it not part of the watermelon family. Now, I see it! It says on the price tag Jumbo Spanish Melon. Problem is solved. I actually tasted it and tastes like honey dew.
Observing the prices of fruits. Among these fruits that are pretty much all year round in the supermarkets are changing in price depending on which State you are buying and depends on the season. in Brisbane where we went last month, we observed that prices of fruits are way cheaper than in the Northern Territory. Is it because most fruit supply came from Queensland?
