Went to the Kamijo Atsushi art exhibit today, and saw them in personnnnn

Lighting was terrible for taking photos but that was likely by design. 🤷♀️
There was an amazing amount of iconic art.

Hey, wasn't tumblr supposed to allow more pictures now? Well fuck.
Here's one more for the road- greeting you as soon as you walk in the door. I remember seeing a photo of it there but it was still a bit of a startling moment in person-

Anyway, if you're in Tokyo any time until Jan 26th, 2025, please come check out this exhibit at the Yayoi Museum in Nezu! It's ¥1000 at the door and also lets you see the other exhibits also there. Please make sure you observe the photography rules as they can change from area to area and even from case to case.
Coming up in a future exhibit at HMV Shibuya on Nov. 1-12th only is the guy who does a huge chunk of album art for Buck-Tick and many others. His art will be up next and I'm extremely sad that I'm just missing it!!
I love that BT is keeping up the pressure around the city, though, it's pretty comforting.

I would like to say, Buck-Tick's marketing team was/is superb. Their ads in these mags really pop out at you, the designs absolutely stand out from the rest which are more or less pretty cookie cutter, and in their few ads that do sometimes lean a little more towards cookie cutter, their looks are always so unique from everyone else that that alone makes it still stand out.
Their word-useage on ads is excellent- "URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT!" shit like that, absolutely generating energy and excitement as they then proceed to list a packed stack of things they have on sale so you can quickly and efficiently lose all your money to them without missing out on any sale windows.
Everyone else is just sort of paying for their page or their ad box and are like "hey, this is our name, we have this single coming out, maybe come to a show? 🤷♀️" Not even X, whose spreads come off a bit bombastic and a tad needy, are as well oiled for ads as BT.
Really interesting stuff to see.
Anyway, here is a cute fan art from someone in 1989 hoping for the fast return of BT!! I think they nailed Atsushi pretty perfectly. 🤣

Bonus horoscope for end of 89 into 90 🤣

No tickets?!!!!!
