Xiao extends the precious cargo and is undeniably pleased upon seeing Lumine treat it gently. It stokes something instinctual within him, something warm and heedy. Lumine accepted the child, so now there is nothing to worry-- Ah, she is asking an important question, though it isn't one Xiao is particularly concerned about. They'll emerge once they're ready.

Stepping even closer now, Xiao presses up against her side, shoulders touching, and nudges his head against hers in a way he hopes reads as comforting. ❝ Adepti are sturdy even at this stage. I don't know how long they'll spend in the egg. I suspect ... a few months, at least? How long ... for you? ❞ Lumine's species is one Xiao has no frame of reference for. All he knows comes directly from her after all.

( 🌙 ) A SOFT BELL - LIKE trill leaves her after his chirp , if her wings had been out they surely would have ruffled in excitement over the understanding of what was happening before her. it made sense , kinda , why xiao had abruptly disappeared for awhile for the last day and a half ... stars she really needed to pay attention.

GOLDEN HUES IMMEDIATELY raise at the offer for her to hold it -- almost seeming a little anxious to do so. she didn't want to drop it or accidently cause some issue with it ( would her natural warmth too much for it ? stars she's a nervous wreck ) but takes a risk and nods. she offers her arms to swaddle it once its offered.

❛ PLEASE .. I'D LOVE too. how long does .. i suppose its unprecedented .. for a yaksha and a celestial outlander to consummate .. ❜ she hoped it wouldn't be difficult for him. for them both.

Xiao looks down at the proffered plate, staring at it before eventually taking it - and placing it aside. He appreciates the offering, but this situation demands his attention now rather than later.

Crossing his arms before his chest, he continues his observation. ❝ I'm an immortal. Time is the only currency I can offer. ❞ In other words, he will hear this story if Aether is comfortable telling it. Far be it from Xiao to push where it isn't wanted, but he is well-familiar with the expression the traveler now wears. He's seen it plenty when looking in the mirror. ❝ I vowed to be your blade, did I not? Tell me who I shall turn against. ❞

Aether always did enjoy Wangshu Inn. The breeze up among such a tall tree, overlooking the plains, it was hard to beat. Of course, that's without including the company he rather enjoyed.

Even if said company was currently looking at him like Aether was a bug under a microscope.

"Greetings to you too, Xiao." He held out the snack he so often brought the other, and took a moment to consider his words. He knew Xiao wouldn't be afraid to well, call bullshit, but he didn't want to pile on more troubles.

"It's nothing to worry about." Aether decided on. "It's... well, it's a long story. I'll be fine."

Though his shoulders tense momentarily upon noting her hesitance, all worry ceases as soon as understanding morphs her features in what he reads as both shock and awe. Xiao chirps briefly, smiling at the praise. It is beautiful; big and healthy and warm with nascent life.

Nodding, he takes a step closer, mirroring her so they stand in front of each other. ❝ ...Would you like to hold it? ❞

( 🌙 ) SHE'S PUT THE book down at this point , golden hues remaining on her partner and the egg he held --- in her surprise she was taking longer than in later years she'd find to be most embarrassing. lumine moves to stand on her feet , standing there like a deer in headlights 'fore she finally speaks ,

❛ ITS YOURS .. ? ah .. wait ---- are we ? ❜ she doesn't know how to ask the question , at least not fully. the star takes a step forward with wide eyes on the egg one final time. ❛ ITS BEAUTIFUL ! STARS xiao .. ❜

Celestial entity assignation

If experience has taught Xiao anything, it is that group projects are seldom a pleasant experience. Sure, there's bound to be some merit to them (like putting the burden of occupying their time on the students rather than the professors), but Xiao has not once felt he learned more simply by adding another person to the equation. Well, it's not like he has a choice in the matter, and the student he was assigned to doesn't seem to be the loud, extroverted type at least. He can tolerate them, but he'd rather not in this kind of setting.

❝ I'm Xiao, ❞ he replies, nodding briefly. ❝ So, got any ideas for our project? I'm available right now if you'd like to talk shop. ❞

Partner projects... Ryou wanted to wither away in some nook and cranny to forever hide away. Thankfully, at least, it seemed the person assigned to be his partner also seemed to be uncomfortable. It would have been worse, he thought, to be paired with someone overbearing.

"U-um. Hello. My name is Ryou, er, Bakura. Just Ryou is fine though." Does he wave? Offer a handshake? In the end, he settled for what was surely a strained smile.

The Rover watches coolely as Scar approaches, hands remaining still at his sides but ready to grasp his weapon any moment. He doesn't yet know what Scar's deal is, similar to the Fractsidus' as a whole. His encounter with Phrolova gave him more than enough to chew on for a while, and he doesn't want to get involved any more than he already has.

❝ Not particularly, no, ❞ is what he settles on. ❝ Is there a reason for your visit? Or did you just miss me? ❞

A maddening grin unfolded on the BEAST'S lips, where sharp, pearly whites could be seen slipping past a soft lower lip. SCARRED features were dancing with amusement as Scar jumped down, from the tree that he had been lurking in - STALKING his prey, like the predator he was. Oh, it was so fun! Especially, when his prey could keep track of him, it made the BEAST within softly growl.

❝ My, Rover, so direct. Wanted my presence closer~? ❞

As if feather light, Scar appeared near the other, almost without a sound as mismatched depths OBSERVED the male with a SMIRK. He had wandered how his black lamb had been doing.

( 🌙 )    THE STAR INITIALLY responds with a soft trill , to signal that she's in the room she's in along with acknowledging that she'd heard him call her to begin with. at the moment she's reading through an ancient text that she'd just been able to translate when she finally looks up. what ---- ?

SHE STARES AT the egg 'fore her gaze raises up to xiao , golden hues noting how he holds the egg .. how big the egg is which only left her with more questions. questions she could not answer in her head. alone.   ❝ THAT IT IS .. who's egg is it .. ? is .. where'd it come from ? ❞
