Chemistry representation in the transformers fandom

One of my favourite transformers alt-mode is actually Preceptor’s

That's mainly because I'm supposed to be a chemist, so I think it’s nice to have some rappresentation in the franchise.

And, the more I think about this, the more I realize that a good half of lab equipment names sound really transformable and the other half can be quite deadly in the right conditions.

Spectre is a spectrophotometer, she’s an autobot scientist, extremely precise and annoying. She always wants a lot of samples to properly calibrate everything and complains if you don’t give her the right time to warm up. When she gets really angry the lamp inside her overheats and explodes. It’s always a mess to change it and she complains a lot.

Eppy is a micropipette, he’s a minicon that shoots tips like missiles against enemy forces.Those missiles can have a lot of different volumes and colors but he’s pretty messy and tends to lose them around. Alternatively he has a really big drawer where he puts them but their sac always opens and they get mixed together anyhow.

One thing he really, really hates is when someone picks him up and moves him upside down trying to “help” him.

I admit these two have been influenced a lot by my personal experience with their alt-mode and I think you can easily notice which one is my favorite.

So, dear lab colleagues, what equipment have you used that was secretly a transformer in disguise?

Some additional notes under the cut because I oversimplified everything and I want to specify at least some things:)

Flying like a plane part - Soviets managed to build a replica of the Buran Shuttle that was made for training. And it turns out if you upgrade a shuttle with enough powerful engines it can fly like a really awkward plane. Wow. The video of it flying

The thrusters part. Those are placed at the tail part and also on the "snout".

These holes are thrusters. The space loaf can sneeze haha (You can google "RCS in shuttles" for more info)

Gravitational Slingshot explained a bit more. I described it waaay to simply but to be fair. You don’t need to know that much about orbital mechanics in order to write fics. Unless you want to explain them to all your readers every time

Transformers OC - Firesong

Her voice resonates through the cosmos like the song of the stars

Her eyes shine like supernovas in the void of space. 

Here is the one who makes the flame of your spark shine with her songs... ✨Firesong!✨

I’ve finally managed to find a nice name for her 

She was a singer before, a popular idol who found herself in the middle of a war discovering that she was completely useless. 

No useful knowledge, no special skills, she always was just a pretty ornament.

But we haven't reached that point yet…Here she is at the peak of her career!

OC history time

I had just finished watching Transformers Prime and my sister and I were talking about transformers OC

She asked me what my hypothetical character thought of the war and which faction would join but I calmly explained how, realistically speaking, from an outside point of view, the whole war was stupid.

Decepticon

Endless fighting just because a mech didn’t get the promotion he wanted 5/10, understandable

The same mech and leader of the gang being an addict with anger management issue 3/10, not nice

Destroyed the planet he wanted to conquer, killed people, killed more alien people 1/10, not recommended

Autobot

Endless fighting just because a mech did get the promotion his “not boyfriend” wanted 5/10, why?

Letting underage children stay in a government facility with possible danger for their well being without their parent consent  4/10, not legal

The guy who got the promotion still having hope that his “not boyfriend”  could change after the destroyed at least an entire planet and mutilated his basically adopted son 0/10, definitely not recommended
