This is a personal blog to which I post a mixture of fandom things, art, flowers and scenery, pictures of cute animals and occasional sample of my own writing or art - the latter rarer than the prior (and both uncommon). I try not to get caught up in it...

Okay so, where I live (Canada, Newfoundland) we have the smallest ponies.

And the biggest dogs

Here’s a size comparison for the Newfoundland dog

and together

That is a full grown dog and pony together LOOK AT THAT! Now if you don’t think that’s the greatest shit ever I don’t know what is!

“Be at ease. A friend will not think unkindly of you, and an unfriend will not tell you the truth of their thoughts, so what purpose is there to worry?” “It’s not as easy as that,” said Summer sadly. “I can’t stop myself from worrying.” “You’re human,” said Glorious. “Humans hoard up their fears as if the world might run out.” He huffed a laugh. “Still, you build cities with them—and towers and artworks and families and faiths. It seems to work for your people, even if it would not work for mine.” “I wish I was a wolf,” said Summer. “That is a very sensible wish,” said Glorious. “But even Baba Yaga cannot grant you that. So you will simply have to be a brave human.”

Cuphead (2016): A single player or co-op “run and gun” platformer, heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by 1930s cartoons, the visuals are hand drawn and inked and the music is all original jazz recordings.

I’ve been wanting to give Dorian a refreshing new look that still had dramatic flair written all over it, and what better place to turn to than Desi couture! This outfit was based off the sherwani, which is a beautifully intricate traditional garb often worn by men. Personally, Southeast-Asian-inspired fashion should be given more limelight in games, but I digress.
As to why I chose to go with an Indian outfit – it was all thanks to Ramon Tikaram, really. I drew a little inspiration from his ancestry and everything just fell into place after that. (Also he’s ridiculously charming and hilarious and I adore him to little pieces!) I hope you like this as much as I do. <3

Surviving Panic Attacks
How to handle your panic attacks and anxiety attacks, step by step.
Retreat. If you feel phobic, exit the situation until anxiety subsides. Retreat is a temporary leave until you feel better. Escape can reinforce your phobia.
Talk to another person. This helps get your mind off of symptoms and anxious thoughts.
Move around. Dissipates extra energy/adrenaline created by fight-or-flight reaction. Instead of resisting, you move with it.
Stay in the present. Focus on concrete objects around you in your immediate environment. Try actually touching objects.
Engage in a simple repetitive activity.
unwrap and chew gum
count
snap rubber band
sing
wet towel on face
6. Do something that requires focused concentration.
read a book or magazine
puzzles
knit/sew
write
7. Express anger. If you can physically express anger rather than just talking, you may be able to stop the panic attack before it blows up.
pound on a pillow or your bed
beat a pillow or cushion with a bat
scream into pillow
8. Experience something immediately pleasurable.
be held
pleasurable snack/meal
hot shower or bath
9. Visualize a comforting person/scene.
10. Practice thought stopping.
take a deep breath then internally or externally say, “Stop”!
replace anxious thoughts with calming and supportive statements (“I am calm. I am strong”).
snap a rubber band or splash cold water to disrupt thoughts
11. Practice abdominal breathing. Breathe slowly and deeply from your abdomen.
12. Practice muscle relaxation.
clench fists. Hold for 10 seconds, release and repeat.
tighten/raise shoulders up, hold 10 seconds, release.
13. Repeat positive coping statements.
14. Use breathing or relaxation in combination with coping statements.

Monument Valley honestly kept me from having a panic attack a few weeks ago.
I was on hold with my bank for roughly a half hour because someone had stolen my debit card number and had charged a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff to it. All I could think about while I was on hold was what if my rent check bounces, I can’t afford the late fee I’ll be slapped with and I’m already on bad terms with my super - and I felt that horrible grip around my chest squeezing down and my breathing getting faster.
Normally I can just drink a cold glass of water and sit in front of my ac (to remind myself that no, my throat is not actually closing up, and that yes, I can still successfully get air into my lungs with the help of a fan) but this time neither of those tricks did anything. Well actually that’s not true, they reminded me that I was alone in my apartment, and if couldn’t find a way to calm down, I wouldn’t necessarily be able to get help - which only scared the shit out of me even more.
So I sat in front of my AC and pulled up the brightest, happiest looking app I have on phone, which is Monument Valley, and within ten minutes of building pathways to guide the princess through the castle I was breathing normally. I found myself thinking, look at this bitch, you’re already solving this, this will be cleared up with your bank in the next half hour, and in case your check bounces, you’ll have documentation as to why to show your landlord. On good days, it’s sometimes honestly as simple as helping a tiny me walk through a beautiful castle while solving simple puzzles to remind myself:
I got this.

oldwillypete replied to your post “So I have another novel I have been working on for about two years…”
Am I the only one who pictured this in their head as being Jack Monroe (https://cookingonabootstrap.com/) and it was just so much better?
lol! I love Jack’s recipes, even if I can’t eat a lot of vegan foods and she seems to have become predominantly vegan now.
I actually named my character Jack Morton, but somewhere along the lines it morphed into Monroe and it’s sort of stuck. If it helps, he’s an openly bisexual sky pirate who flirts with her brother too?
Actually he flirts with a lot of people, but mostly Poor Life Choices and Death.
