Okay so a lot of people don’t like Terence specifically because of what he does in the books.

The Disney fairies books are the closest and most consistent things we have to Disneys Peter Pan and Return to never land. (Example being fairies dying from disbelief in the books like how tink almost died in return to never land).

The Disney fairies books take place after Peter Pan, where tink is mad at Peter for bringing Wendy so she goes back to live pixie hollow.

A thing to note here is that Disney fairies movies seem to be their own universe which is why they don’t follow the lore from the books and the Peter Pan movies (Like Wendy is in the first tinker bell movie as like an 8yr old but at the end of Disneys Peter Pan, Wendy’s father said he went to never land before with Peter and saw hooks ship but like how could he if in tinker bell Peter isn’t even in never land yet and he hasn’t met tink and Wendy exists). The movies are like an alternate timeline.

ANYWAYS in the books Terence is basically a simp. He would do anything for Tinker Bell and like in the movies yeh Tink gets annoyed. BUT Terence is such a simp in a creepy way. Like in the book Fairy haven and the quest for the wand, Terence gets his hands on a magic wand and he forces Tink to like him romantically. And worse part he didn’t tell anyone, so no one knew until they went oh Tinks acting weird and undid all the wishes. That however does not compare to Terence’s worst crime. I kid you not, this sparrow man gaslit, gate kept, and girl boss’d all of Tinks friends from her and gave her depression. So in the book north of never land, Terence helps tink bring a compass into her workshop so she can fix it, however he bumps into it and it rolls near tinks shelf and breaks the first plate she ever fixed when she arrived at pixie hollow. Tink naturally argues with Terence and they have a fight and he leaves. However later when Tink goes to try to apologize, Terence ignores her and avoids her. So Tinks like okay fine he doesn’t want to talk guess I’ll go hang out with the rest of my friends. So Tinks tries to go hang out and guess what. Terence literally stole all of Tinks friends, they basically ignore her too. So now Tink feels awful. Terence took her friends, she’s got no one to hang out with. Then she gets the idea of bringing Terence a present to see if he’ll forgive her. The last Pixie dust on never land from the pixie dust tree. (For context in the books the beautiful purple pixie dust tree they had was destroyed and now they have to use fairy dust they get from grinding a magical birds feathers). So Tink goes on this quest to try and find some pixie dust. Tink runs into Peter Pan and she helps him save a lost boy from a tiger. Peter thinks that’s really brave of her so he makes a medal for her using a small golden bead. Tink feels really proud about herself and goes off to find that pixie dust for Terence. So she goes to the place where it’s supposed to be and it’s not. And Tink feels terrible, she sits by a river and mopes, because Terence and her friends ignored her, she thinks she’s a terrible friend and is not worthy of wearing a medal for being brave, cause she failed to get the present for Terence and she’s not brave. So she sets the medal lose in the river and goes back home depressed. Then she decides maybe she can give Terence the plate she fixed earlier because she has nothing to give him, and she really doesn’t want him mad at her. So she goes and gives it to him and he goes on like “oh thought u just wanted space, you can keep the plate”. Tinks literally and exhausted and almost dead and only after Terence talks to her tinks friends basically go “hey where were u”. LIKE EXCUSE ME. WHAT. Terence made Tink feel like crap, took her friends and made her depressed. And then didn’t gaf and hardly cared about the amount of EFFORT she put into trying to get him to talk to her or be friends again.

Anyways that’s why Terence is awful imo.

I would say Peter’s friendship with Tink is better than Terence’s at least. In the books Peter and Tink are treated more like ex’s who have way too much tension and want to get back together but there is way too much drama between them to make that work. I will say it was nice of Terence to go accompany Tink to see Peter for the first time ever since he brought Wendy over (Tink left her spare hammer at Peter’s and she needed it cause she lost her other one). But like that still doesn’t excuse Terence. Even in Trouble with Tink he felt a bit overprotective towards Tink. Terence does not like Peter when they meet. Jokes on him though because he was willing to help Tink talk to Peter again and now he had to deal with the consequences of his actions by watching Tink kiss Peter on the nose and tells him that she’ll come back to visit him more, she promises and that she’s missed him. Terence doomed himself.

Now for the actual films I would say Peter was a bit of a jerk to Tink in the first Peter Pan movie. Ik he has his own traumas (like literally being abandoned and replaced by his mother) but I don’t think it excuses him completely. Same thing with Tinks actions and killing Wendy, Tink has a valid reason to be jealous of Wendy, but not to literally kill her. From how hook describes Peter and Tinks relationship in the film they seem to be more than friends. Whether that be “Best friends” or literally dating, they are a thing. Hook talks to Tink about how Peter used her like an old glove and she breaks down crying. So to Tink, Wendy just showed up and took Peter and Peter used her like that. Now to Peter he’s just looking for a mother, so Tinks jealous actions wouldn’t make sense to him, why would Tink be jealous of him getting a mother figure. Eventually Peter understands when Tink saves Peter from the bomb at the end of the film and that’s when Peter reassures Tink that she means more to him than anything in the whole world. That’s why at the end of the film Tinker Bell doesn’t continue crashing out on Wendy and trying to attempt second degree murder, like kicking her off the ship mid flight. Tink could have easily pushed her off of ship at the end of the movie lowkey. I also like how in return to never land, Jane asks Peter why Tinks being so mean to her and Peter says she’s just jealous. So yay he learned something. I will give him that. I also don’t think he forgot Tink was dying, he literally couldn’t tell Jane, you can’t force Jane to believe in fairies and if he had told her “tinks dying cause you don’t believe” Jane could have easily went “L I don’t care”. They had to get her to be like them and for her to see the magic of never land to get her to believe first for her to listen.

Overall I would say movie Terence is better in a way than book Terence. I think Tink is fine for having him as a friend, it’s not bad, at least in the movies. But book Terence is a menace so I still don’t like him lol. Also for the Disney fairies movies I simply don’t think Peter Pan even exists in them. I know they were planning on adding Peter Pan but if they did they probably would have changed him like they did Terence and literally everyone else. At this point they are completely different characters. But that’s just my opinion.

toxic friendship by the fans VS real toxic friendship

do the fans know what "toxic friendship" really are?

not everyone feels that way about Tinkerbell and Terence (including me) but most fans labels Tinkerbell and Terence as "toxic friendship" or calls them "red flags" for what? their arguments because of an disagreement or misscommunications? Tinkerbell blaming others and having anger issues because of her stress? Tinkerbell putting others in danger?

their reasons aren't valid to me? tell me the REAL reason why they all think they are toxic?

both Tinkerbell and Terence have their strengths and flaws and everyone can have one of these stuff i've mentioned...the things i've mentioned with the others reasons are called "having flaws" that isn't a valid reason in my opinion to call them "toxic" or "red flags" (i find it ridiculous in my opinion)

but you want to know who really have this toxic friendship?

like the screencap is showed it's Tinkerbell and Peter Pan in my opinion

like seriously i knew the Peter Pan before the Tinkerbell movies existed and she's a different person there and Peter Pan didn't helped the case here...i didn't saw this as a kid but now that i'm older i realized they have this toxic friendship

like i've said for multiple times now which i'm about to mention it again: Tinkerbell is giving Vidia and Zarina combined vibes but worse

not welcoming Wendy, trying to kill Wendy, not welcoming Jane but instead tried to get rid of her...like seriously and her hating the lost boys too, she was either always jealous or angry (that literally reminded me with who Tink was in the first 2 movies and in some occasions the third movie too)

something bad must have happened to Tinkerbell she have changed so much in the Peter Pan movies and Peter Pan isn't helping the case either, abandoning Tinkerbell when she needed him the most, spending more time with the lost boys and the others

it's Peter Pan in particular to have its toxic friendship with Tinkerbell, like he possibly only made friends with Tinkerbell to make himself feel better, a selfish reason to make friends in my opinion, everything is all games to Peter Pan and doesn't care for Tinkerbell like the others do (even Vidia cares about Tinkerbell a lot more than Peter Pan ever did since she came around in the third movie she even went this far risking her own life to save Tinkerbell from the humans even if it means taking Tink's place from getting trapped in a jar instead despite not being on friendly terms with Tink back then, i rather have someone who cares about you on the inside even if not on friendly terms than a friend to pretend to care about you just to abandone you when you need them the most)

Peter Pan forgot about Tinkerbell once she was dying because Jane didn't believed in fairies untill later in the movie when the pirates captured Peter Pan and the lost boys, it was only then he have warned Jane about Tink's dying

i really hate when someone make friends just to make you feel better in the eye, that's not what a real friend will do

so yes it's Peter Pan in particular but Tinkerbell in no angel in the Peter Pan movies either, especially the first movie

Tinkerbell and Terence on the other hand it's the complete opposite

i can't say they are flawless but like i mentioned earlier everybody has their own flaws but these 2 actually worked on their flaws and spirit one another up when one of them is feeling down for whatever reasons and once Terence found out about the situation he went to follow her right away and just when Tinkerbell needed him the most he happened to show up to Tink and told her he broke the rules for her on purpose so he can help Tinkerbell outside pixie hollow, they both apologized for their flaws and worked together ever since then (Terence also realized he shouldn't be so harsh on her and still considered her as best friend despite his argument he had with her the last time he have spoken to her before he went to her house so that explains he realized he needed Tinkerbell more than ever just like Tinkerbell needed him the most during her adventure)

despite their arguments to each other, they still care for each other in the end which made their friendship even stronger and they improved each other

they support each other even if they disagree with things or don't understand things, they make each others laugh, more then willing to help each other out and risk each others lives and you know what?

Terence IS the reason Tinkerbell decided to stay in pixie hollow and was the only fairy who wasn't angry at Tinkerbell for the disasters she have created so that explains everything aswell

they complement each other very well in my opinion

so to me they are the complete opposite of toxic friendship (or red flags as some people calls it) they have this healthy friendship to me

the REAL toxic friendship here is Tinkerbell and Peter Pan (coming from someone who used to ship them together for selfish reasons)

i know fairy book exists but how would Terence react to Peter Pan if they made a movie based on how Tinkerbell meets Peter Pan?

i bet Terence will be overly protective of Tinkerbell because Terence is the complete opposite of Peter Pan and will be very pissed about Peter Pan not taking care of Tinkerbell
