Turtles

It’s been awhile, but I’m back with my original purpose: posting about turtles!

I recently participated in a recycled art contest, and decided to (obviously) make my sculpture on turtles. The idea was to spread awareness that tortoises also fall victim to pollution and human activities.

The sculpture is titled “Unnatur-tles” (or Unnatural Turtles). The face and other parts were created with a diy cardboard clay, and the skeletons of the turtles were created with plastic bottles and plastic bags.

Remember to always be mindful of what you throw away! Recycle whenever you can and don’t litter. Let’s protect our animals! 🐢🌎

December art

Happy Holidays! I've been off the grid for quite a bit but i'm back!

This month I've been practicing with paints, but more so acrylics than water colors. Me and acrylics have a rough relationship, given how many clothes its ruined, but I'm willing to give it another shot!

Winner of the Leaf Contest

Sorry for the delay with the winner's painting! I had way to much late work to turn in T-T

Anyways, the winner was "Leaf #1" !! (and by a lot) , so as promised, here is the leafy leafy!!

It's not my best work tbh, but at least I got to practice with backgrounds a bit, and I think i'm finally warming up to watercolor :3

Any kadoozles, that concludes the leaf competition, a perfect farewell to the autumn season as Christmas looms over us all with the stress of gift buying O-O

Leaf Contest

Happy November!

I know this isn't my usual posts but guys, I love The Hunger Games

I've read this series and watched the movies soooo many times and i always tear up whenever she comes on screen or shows up in the book like ahhhhh-

If you hadn't noticed, I personally prefer fall for drawing inspiration. Yet, I do love spring because of all the baby animals and blossoming flowers...and it's my birthday heh

Watercolor is not my strong suit, but a weekend without signal or wifi makes you a bit desperate. In my practice, I've replicated a leaf that fell into my lap :)

I know a weekend without internet sounds horrible, but it's not so bad if you have art supplies! Especially in fall 🍂

What's better than a duck?

A TURTLE DUCK!!!

It's literally the best of both worlds, and one of the main reasons why I love ATLA so much >.<

was going through my sketchbook and found an old turtle duck sketch and proceeded to spend an hour drawing this 😪

I found some old art I made for my sibling. Its based on a book she's working on and it's got like medieval outfits but also magic and- honestly it's a lot to explain.... But I'll post the name of the book if she finishes her book lol

Finally finished! Took the whole weekend to complete it, but I think I'm happy with how it turned out. My theme was "Coral Bleaching", which is when corals lose their color due to the increase in water temperature (climate change). Also, the turtle is called a "Hawksbill Sea turtle", which in Spanish is known as " Tortugua Carey".

I personally think that the rain helped with the underwater look and it was definitively easier to blend the colors.

This is probably one of the most detailed artworks I've ever done, my clover drawing obsession knows no bounds ☘️

Chalk art idea

Hello!

I'm participating in a art event tomorrow and will be making a chalk design. The theme for my artwork is "Coral Bleaching", and it will be featuring a sea turtle (ofc).

Which of these do you think would be the best design?

While I may not like waiting for the bus in the rain, I find comfort in knowing that a lil buddy is enjoying their day somewhere....
