Wolfman Ford X reader bit! I write little pieces, sometimes they become something bigger, sometimes they don’t.
——————
“You’re a werewolf?”
“Wolfman.” Ford corrects you, “the ‘man’ bit is — important.”
He gathers up the shreds of his clothing off the floor. You’re surprised his underwear remained intact. He must have made some special fabric. Your are, ever so slightly, disappointed.
“Doesn’t were-“
“You know that. I know that. People out there don’t.”
“But if they don’t know what you are anyway then—“
“Yes, alright. It just,” he seems agitated, “it makes me feel more anchored. It’s a stupid detail that makes this,” he points to himself “more palatable.”
“I understand.”
Ford relaxes his shoulders.
“You didn’t flinch.”
“I’m sorry?”
Ford holds up a hand, “when I touched you, that first day in the laboratory, you did not flinch.”
“There wasn’t reason to.”
His pupils dilate.
“But why are you not, eh,” you struggle to find the least offensive words, “you seem very lucid.”
“My research was put on hold for a bit. I needed to find a way to stop the animal of it all,” he tosses his clothing into a bin, “unfortunately it left my human form permanently altered. But at least my work isn’t hindered by this.”
“The teeth and hair are because—“
“And tail.”
“Tail?”
Ford sighs and scratches his cheek.
“It can usually be hidden. It’s uncomfortable, but thankfully, I don’t go out too often.”
He takes a tentative step towards you, seemingly expecting you to flee.
“I’m sorry. I wouldn’t have had you anywhere near me if I did not have this under control.”
“You knew you were going to transform. Why did you let me stay?”
“I think I — wanted you to know?”
He takes another step. He towers over you, but his demeanor is more akin to an anxious puppy.
“Is your brother a vampire?”
Ford’s eyes dart from side to side and he nods solemnly.
“You two have some… luck.”
He chuckles.
“Why would you ‘want me to know’?”
Ford moves to hold your hand, but stops himself.
“Would it surprise you to know I, ehm, feel more for you than simply a laboratory assistant.”
“It would explain the staring.”
“Yes, well,” Ford stammers, “I lack my brother’s brazenness. He’s much more adept with these situations. I fear I’m not ever really in the position to… and of course the power dynamic between us is… it was difficult to navigate…”
He trails off.
You grab his hand and hold it to your face. His eyes grow wide and he lets out a soft whimper, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
“You really aren’t afraid of me, are you?”
“Of course not.”
Ford’s hips sway slightly and you look down to see his tail wagging.
“That, I’m afraid, I do not have under control.”

"The night promised to be long"
I thought...that it would really look interesting to have a figure like Mabel...and in complete despair and fear...And of course our Ford is a figure of support and support

Was emotional thinking about how they’re go-to is forehead touches when they’re safe after being in danger or a reminder they’re very much still here together. (Also because I wanted to draw forehead touches)

A double-header for this last piece:
Ford Dress Up Week 4: Swimwear! and Happy Fiddleford Friday!
I hope they wore sunscreen.
Previously: portal outfit, formal wear, casual wear, free choice (turtleneck).
See the list for Ford Dress Up Week here. Thanks to @beccadrawsstuff for setting it up! (I don't know if I'll be able to do the two bonus weekend prompts. But I feel good about having done the five main ones!)

I missed that a "Ford Dress-Up Week" art challenge happened last week, but I still want to try to do it. The original challenge was posted on Twitter, I think, and also here, by @beccadrawsstuff. (No way are all the pieces going to be this elaborate, though.)
So here is Day 1: Portal Ford!
Back in 2017-18, I had worked up this outfit for a project I called Pteroworld, and always meant to come back to it. It's good to do an update!
(As is often the case, especially with this world, the landscape owes a lot to Moebius as an inspiration. The scifi rifle is loosely based/inspired by a NERF gun.)

Here's Ford Dress Up Week 2: Formal Wear!
I've always been really fond of the "Mr. Mystery and Dr. Mystery" idea, and hadn't done it in a long while. (See here for examples by others over the years!)
This is also a composition I’d done annually for several years (Stan and Ford, side by side), as a sort of art progress milestone. But I fell out of that habit around 2020 I think. Decided to kind of resurrect it for this.
Once again, from the challenge post here, by @beccadrawsstuff

Ford Dress Up Week 5 - Free Choice!
(Yes, I skipped #4 for now; I wanted to do something for that for Friday.)
Back in January, I watched a video by Patrick H. Willems, called "Sweaters in Movies - What They Mean and Why They Matter". At a certain point in the video, this quote was put up on screen, and I said to myself, I have GOT to do a pic of Ford in his iconic red turtleneck to go with that quote.
Here's a transcript of it:
"The turtleneck is the most flattering thing a man can wear because it strips a man down to himself -- because it forces a man to project himself. The turtleneck does not decorate, like a tie, or augment, like a sports coat, or in any way distract from what my father calls a man's 'presentation'; rather, it puts a man in sharp relief and puts his face on a pedestal -- first literally, then figuratively. It is about isolation, the turtleneck is; it is about essences and first causes; it is about the body and the face, and that's all it's about." Tom Junod (1996, Dec. 1). My Father's Fashion Tips. GQ. https://www.gq.com/story/fashion-generation-tips-national-magazine-award
Meanwhile, if you want a better look at the mug, or WANT the mug, it can be found for sale here. Back in May 2016, @skullflowerpetalsss posted pics of it with the caption, "I found Stanford Pines’s actual mug that he actually canonically owns". (See below. The link I put in the reblog chain of the original post no longer works, but the "for sale here" link above does.). Of course I bought one.
Done for Ford Dress Up Week, based on the post here by @beccadrawsstuff.
Previously: portal outfit, formal wear, casual wear.
