i haven't drawn these guys in like forever but since i remembered the anniversary this time, might as well redraw my 5th anniv art from 2017~ this time included Julian bc he's my fav. and made Howard's expression to like "why are we falling!?!" lmao idk, it's just a fun pose, like in anime themes.

i had only seen a few DK & Luigi fanarts as wholesome friends bc of their little interaction in the 2023 movie, which is really cute i love that.

But considering Luigi's rep of pulling Royal Baddies, it'd be so funny to add The Ape Prince of the Jungle Kingdom to his "harem of feral simps" 🤣

i also lost motivation to booth in cons bc i am far from breaking even, and i still don't have a regular job to even afford renting a table again.

1st of all, how have i not heard of that trio name before, did it just not existed when i was in the fandom years ago??

2nd of all, i am getting old lmao- i was 12 in 2012, but i found the show in 2014 when s2 was airing. (the teens would be in their 20s by now if they aged, omg...)

is this what 40 year olds feel knowing there are Mario fans that are half their age lmao

3rd of all, Honestly, i'm so glad rc9gn still has a new generation of fans, like ofc 14-15 year olds are the target audience. And it's the best show to experience at that age. 🤘

Would you ever go back to SadSpider? You & the artists brought me to sadspider, & I've been shipping them too much, & doing more art just to give it support & it was successful

I remember shipping Julian with pretty much everyone his age, including self-cest, crack ships, and self-insert OC x canon, just typical 2010s tumblr teen things lol

Julian was just my absolute fav and he deserves all the love! (looks at how i'm still a multi-shipper only with a different fandom 🤔)

but SadSpi did became one of my top ships mostly bc of Entenbot (or whatever the artist's current name is), made me realize that i love the "that one jerk X the sweetest guy ever" dynamic XD

it's been like, 6 years? since i've been into RC9GN in general, i just grew out of it 🤷 i kinda held on a bit longer bc of the College AU, but even then i felt weird about liking a character that used to be my fictional crush, who will forever be 14-15yo.

Especially now i'm a whole decade older of that age-group, it's just never gonna be the same to me... :')

tho i am feeling nostalgic bc of the show's anniversary, perhaps i will cook something up, we'll see~
