After making the final adjustments, I completed the summary and analysis of the project. I uploaded my media project to Bilibili and YouTube, and then created a presentation using PowerPoint to introduce the project, which I also uploaded to YouTube. This marks the conclusion of the project. Thank you for reading.

Assignment4_3
After Tuesday's workshop, I made some adjustments to the poster and video based on the feedback:
Increased the subtitle font size at the beginning of the video.
Unified the fonts on the posters and enlarged the year and temperature data, as well as the data sources. I also made slight color adjustments to the original data poster.
I also made slight color adjustments to the original data poster, changed the font of numbers(pic3). Next, I will work on creating the project description, uploading the video and posters, and writing the overall reflection.

Assignment4 _2

This week,I created an opening sequence for the video using After Effects, focusing mainly on dynamic text effects. I also replaced some of the videos by substituting the ones downloaded from the internet with newly recorded footage of my own, in order to increase the level of originality. Then, I used Lightroom Classic to edit the original photos, adjusting aspects such as black-and-white effects, balance, levels, shadows, and more. The gray background helps unify the overall style and adds a stronger sense of crisis.

Assignment4: After Tuesday’s presentation, I unified all the poster styles, including the background images, poster layout, fonts, graphics, and colors. After continuous experimentation, this is what my current draft looks like. Next, I’m planning to add an opening sequence to the video. I will complete the video’s intro in the next stage, and I intend to create a text-based cinematic-style effect for it. Of course, the posters still need further improvement, and I plan to continue refining them after finishing the intro next week.

This week, following the instructor’s advice, I added two new posters. While browsing through various posters, I was inspired to use skyscrapers, factories, and similar elements to represent how industrialization and urbanization have led to a sharp increase in greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. I continued to use Adobe Illustrator for the design and incorporated heat-melting style typography to emphasize the theme.
Tumblr media
Next, I integrated the new posters into the video, added a references section at the end (with a scrolling effect), and re-uploaded the video.(recreated the thumbnail)
Tumblr media
I refined the presentation part by completing a full set of slides and a speech script.

This week, I created a video using After Effects. While working on the project, I also searched for suitable materials. The final video has a duration of 5 minutes and 31 seconds. I plan to upload it to YouTube and add automatic subtitles. I also designed a thumbnail for the video.

After completing the main production, I wrote an explanation as required, which is around 300 words.

This week, I officially commenced the production phase of my science popularization video. As a first step, I drafted the narration script based on the information I had previously gathered and analyzed. The script, which includes key data, case studies, and proposed solutions, is approximately 700 words in length and corresponds to a runtime of about five minutes. It is structured for clarity and conciseness, ensuring effective communication of the content.
Tumblr media
I then proceeded to record and process the audio using Adobe Audition. During recording, I paid close attention to articulation and pacing. In post-production, I adjusted aspects such as speech rate, clarity, loudness consistency, and removed any awkward pauses to improve the overall fluency and professionalism of the narration. Additionally, I selected and integrated a background music track that complements the tone of the video, aiming to enhance both auditory engagement and emotional resonance.
Tumblr media
For the visual component, I began sourcing appropriate images, illustrations, and video clips aligned with my script’s structure and themes. These materials are being drawn from a variety of channels, including open-access databases and licensed video platforms, to ensure legal and high-quality usage. At present, I have collected about half of the necessary short video clips. Over the coming week, I will continue gathering the remaining materials and begin the editing and compositing process to assemble the final version of the video.

Finding a topic for MEDIA220
This week, I selected a topic and initially determined the media format. Choosing a socially relevant topic wasn’t too difficult for me since I have a strong interest in geography and climate. As a result, I decided to focus on climate change, global warming, and the climate crisis.
For this topic, I realized that the primary goal is to raise awareness. Since I’m not skilled in video production, I opted for a static media format. Brochures and information visualization posters are my strengths, and for the hand-drawn illustrations and photography in these graphic designs, I plan to learn new techniques and consider collaborating with others.
As this project requires extensive data and information collection, I have already found some popular science websites. Next week, I will look for professional sources to gather more precise data.
