Shamefully having to tack Token Jimmy on like this because of the image limit aside, My Kickstarter is live, featuring all 11 of these characters as 1.5” gold plated enamel pins with matching 7″ mini lanyards Stan Craig and Wendy are the main goal, and everyone else will be unlockable if there’s enough funding :) Proper pin mock ups are on the campaign page. The lanyard artwork is also be more spaced out in the final design so it doesn’t repeat.

So I don’t usually post stuff like this because my opinion really doesn’t matter but since chances are no one will see this post I just need to vent. I have no one irl to vent to about this so.

I’m kinda taking issue with how seriously people are taking these SP polls. It’s supposed to be a fun tournament thing, it’s not really important. Matt and Trey make whatever they wanna make so it’s not like the outcomes will really influence the show all that much. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t like the majority of the winners as the whole thing draws to a close. I haven’t voted in quite a few recently because they’re episodes that are alright but I don’t find to be my favorites. I have no strong opinions one way or the other so I don’t bother.

But it really bothers me when I see people calling the other voters “casuals” or saying stuff like “You guys are just new to the show and you just don’t get it,” calm down we’re just picking our favorites, humor and personal enjoyment of an artistic work is subjective. No one ever said we were picking the OBJECTIVELY BEST episodes, only our favorites. I know the winner is probably gonna be one of those “classics” like Scott Tenorman or Make Love Not Warcraft. I don’t like those episodes that much, I personally find them pretty forgettable compared to others. But like... so what if they win, whatever. And I find it really juvenile to start... gatekeeping? I feel like? Just because your favorite lost doesn’t mean the other people voting are degenerates lol, this doesn’t have to become personal. Like come on, nobody can stand those people who are like “I’m a REAL fan because this and that, oh you think you’re a real fan well name every episode” Don’t be that guy, please. And again, this is coming from someone who’s been on the losing side more and more lately, and who does feel like a good chunk of people don’t care about SP’s characters or emotional moments, only about its most crude and offensive humor. But those people’s opinions are as valid as mine, even if I heavily disagree. (I feel like this is maybe a defense mechanism, people feel weird or insecure about liking the losing poll so then they start bein like “Well it’s just that no one ELSE understands.” No, your favorite just lost, OK? It’s not a big deal, it’s really not.)

Just... let people vote for what they enjoy, OK? People like different things, for different reasons. It’s not going to change stuff. Maybe if this were another show I’d get concerned that the creators or the network would be like “Well this one won make more like that, we order you, turn the whole show into just that episode over and over,” but we all know SP doesn’t do that, they don’t care about that. They do whatever they feel like. And heck, not even every SP fan knows these polls exist, plenty of them probably aren’t involved in voting.

But especially don’t make this a “real fans” vs “fake fans” thing. I’ve seen some people saying that all these nooooobs coming to the fandom are ruining the polls. I started watching when I was 19 and I’m fairly young still, it’s not my fault I started watching later than some of the old farts and that I just like some of the newer episodes better than the old ones (which I have watched btw). I just? Like them more? And that’s OK?

Let’s just all calm down lol it’s just a poll and your opinion is still valid even if it loses ok, I feel like this is the kind of thing Matt and Trey would make fun of
