word count: 1108
warnings: death of loved ones, implied depression
authors note: I'm not going to lie, I have no idea what happened. I started writing this immediately after I published the second part and then just left tumblr completely. i didn’t actually finish this until yesterday when i was writing on my computer instead of listening to my English lecture. + also this might be one of the saddest things I have ever written + + I just realized I have 80 followers!!! Thank you all so much!!
Tumblr media
It's been a year since your parents passed, so it goes without saying that today wasn't the greatest for you. Despite the several calls and texts you've received by relatives giving you their condolences, you were alone. You didn't mind though, you wanted to be alone right now. Even if you knew how unhealthy it was.
So, here you are, lying in bed in your gloomy apartment, contemplating what has come of your life. You couldn't believe it had been a year; it only felt like a couple of days. You definitely remembered it like it was a couple days ago. The fleeting memory of receiving the news of their deaths replayed in your mind daily, like your conscience wouldn't let you forget it, no matter how hard you tried.
Soon enough, an endless cloud of sadness washed over you, and you found it increasingly difficult to get out of bed every day. You missed them terribly, and it didn't help that the guilt of their deaths was eating away at you.
The way you saw it, it was your fault.
After receiving an unexpected promotion at work, you'd decided it was time to take a much needed vacation. You'd been out of the country a couple of times for college, but it was always for academic reasons; but now you were going to enjoy yourself. And you did. In fact, it was the best time of your life.
But unfortunately for you, all good things have to come to an end.
The night you landed you asked your parents to meet you at the airport to pick you up but you had forgotten to tell them that your flight had been delayed and that you would be landing later than you had told them. According to the police, it was a robbery gone horribly wrong and both of your parents were killed on the scene.
So now here you are a year later, trying to drown out your sorrows by sleeping all day.
You rolled to your side and took your phone from your nightstand to check the time.
The brightness of the screen nearly blinded you, but you made out "10:04 AM."
So you hadn't slept all day. Great.
You were contemplating on going back to sleep and ignoring reality for the rest of the day but as soon as you started to drift off to sleep, a soft knock at the door woke you back up.
You wanted to ignore it but when the knock came again you knew that the person behind the door wouldn't go away. So with a groan, you roll out of bed and make your way towards your front door.
Too tired to look through the peephole to to see who was behind the door, you figured if it was a murderer you would just want to get it over with, you unlocked it and pulled it open, surprised to see the familiar face you were met with.
"Wanda?" You say, completely flabbergasted.
However, the brunette woman smiled. "Hey, Y/n"
You quickly straightened your slouchy posture and attempted to appear as unbothered as possible. "Hey, Wanda. What are you doing here?"'
Wanda's gaze briefly shifted to the floor before returning to yours. "Well, I dropped my boys off at school a little while ago and I remembered you telling me when anniversary of your parents passing was so I wanted to stop by and see how you were doing"
Despite your friendly relationship with Wanda, this still caught you off guard.
You and the brunette woman had grown close in the past year. You were both dealing with grief when you joined the support group last year. However, after one particular session of having to share your experiences with each other, you and Wanda quickly found comfort in each other. Gradually, you noticed that Wanda was opening up more, and that dark cloud that you knew was looming over her began to lift.
While you were overjoyed for her, you couldn't say the same for yourself.....even now.
Even though you knew she knew about your parents, the fact that she remembered warmed your heart.
"Oh," You blankly respond to Wanda's consideration, unsure of what to say. It takes you a second moment before you can muster up a "Thank you."
Wanda nods, "Of course." She fumbles with her fingers for a second and if you weren't solemnly focused on her you would've missed it. "May I come in?"
You simply take a step back and open the door wider to let her in. She takes this gesture as a 'yes' and steps inside. You close and lock the door behind her before throwing on the best smile you could conjure up.
"Thank you for coming to check on me, really, but I'm fine" You tell her, trying to lighten the mood. But by the way she inspected your living room and looked back at you, you could tell she didn't believe you.
"What?" You chuckled nervously as she stared at you, worried that she could see through the facade you put up.
And she did.
Her stare towards you softened, as though she could see the pain that you were trying to hide behind your eyes, and spoke, her voice soft; "Y/n...."
"Hmm?" You ask, trying to keep yourself from crying.
“Y/n, I know you’re not okay” She tells you, gently placing her hand on your arm like she wanted to talk all of your pain away with a simple touch. “And that’s okay. You don’t have to hide from me”
The thought of saying something to deceive her of your burgeoning grief crossed your mind but instead you stayed silent. A single tear slips down your cheek and that lets Wanda know everything she needed to know.
Not knowing how you’d take it, but fearful that you were going to break down, Wanda engulfs you into a hug. Her warm body heat was twisted with your cold one as you hugged her back, continuing to cry into her shoulder. She pets the back of your head, reassuring you that she’s here and that you don’t have to go through this alone.
Not anymore.
In that moment, you wished that, that hug would last forever. And you wish that even more now.
“Wanda…” You mutter as your eyes fluttered open. For a moment, you're at peace, feeling the woman you long to see again still in your mind. But when you realize where you are, the feeling fades.
Instead it’s replaced with fear. Fear of being trapped with Wanda.
But not your Wanda.
The Scarlet Witch.

“Y/N!”
Before you could even comprehend what was happening, you heard the voices of Billy and Tommy getting closer to you. You try to lift your head to find which direction their voices were coming from only for you to pull your head back down at the pain of your chin hitting the ground moments ago.
Two pairs of little arms wrap around each of yours, trying to pull you up. You weren’t even focused on the witch standing beside you, watching as you hurriedly attempted to get yourself back on your feet.
When you do, however, your eyes fixate on the woman now standing three feet away from you (as you tried to push yourself as far away from the woman as you could without making it seem like you were running away) and your glare fell upon her expression, taking notice to how blank yet menacing it was.
As frightened as she made you, you had to stay strong to protect Billy and Tommy.
So, you mustered up all of the courage you could gather and spoke. “Who are you?”
Wanda’s facade broke for a moment, sadness bleeding through her stoic features. “I’m—” She moved closer to the three of you, but you all took a step back and you instinctively extended your arms to guard the twins. She seemed even more hurt by this, but continued talking, “I’m Wanda.”
Your eyes narrowed as you glared at her. You could see that this Wanda and your Wanda were nearly identical, but that was where the similarities ended. You could tell that they were two entirely different people from what the “witchy” Wanda had shown you in the (literal) five minutes you'd known her. But why were there two Wandas in the first place? And more importantly, where were you?
Upon questioning your whereabouts, your eyes drift around your surroundings. You noticed that the  ground was covered in a foreboding fog while the sky was completely covered with scarlet clouds. The trees around you were dead and a chill settled into the atmosphere, making your situation even more uneasy than it already was.
You shake your head. “No. Our Wanda is back through that portal-” You motion your head to where the star-shaped portal once was only to realize that it’s gone. Then it dawned on you.
You’re trapped.
On top of that, the woman across from you seemed to get more timid at the mention of your Wanda.
“She can’t give you the life that you deserve.” Wanda tells you, slowly stalking her way towards you and the boys.
“And you can?” You test her. You knew it was a bad idea given what this Wanda shown she can do but she was talking about your Wanda...it was as if she was trying to compete with her and you weren’t about to take any of that.
Wanda, however, remains silent as she raises her palm, crimson energy gathering in it. You, Billy, and Tommy recoil back in fear of what was about to happen.
But, nothing happened. Well, nothing except a change of scenery. Your eyebrows knit in confusion as the dreary background begins to fade and a welcoming entryway takes its place.
Your eyebrows knit in confusion, holding the boys closer to you.
“What is this place?” You demand, trying not to show your fear.
Wanda smiles as you looks at you, seemingly disregarding your cold expression. She understood why your resentment towards her was there, but she couldn’t focus on it for long, not when you were standing there, alive. The other Wanda, her alternate self, didn’t understand just how lucky she was to have you in her universe. In her own universe, Wanda had lost you to the mad titan Thanos in Wakanda. You died protecting her so that she could destroy the Mind Stone before Thanos could use it, only for the titan to rewind time and undo her efforts, rendering both of your sacrifices pointless.
And the worst part was, she was going to marry you.
Even now as she stands feet away from you, the engagement ring you proposed to her with was tucked on her ring finger, untouched since the day your alternate self placed it there.
That happiness had been stripped away from her the day you died. And again when she had to let you go in Westview. She had finally got it back, and she wasn’t about to let it go again.
She looks towards the boys and then back at you. “Our home.”

𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 | part one

Finally, Wanda felt peaceful.
As she stepped through the star-shaped portal, peace filled her for the first time in a long time.
She was finally going to get what she fought so hard for.
Her family.
You, Billy and Tommy hadn’t left Wanda’s mind since she lost you. You three were a constant motivation running through her mind and she was determined not to let you go.
Not again.
When you first appeared in her dreams, Wanda was starstruck that you were real in another universe but full of envy for her alternate self. She was envious of how close you were with 838 Wanda, how you looked at her and she envied how 838 Wanda had you but she didn’t.
But that was all about to change.
Soon she was hit with the cold night air of the new reality and she made her way towards the familiar house.
⊹ You knew something was wrong with Wanda.
Even though it had been weeks since Wanda had mysteriously disappeared only to reappear hours later with blood splattered on her face, You couldn’t help but notice how out of it she seemed. She had assured you that nothing was wrong and that the reason behind her disoriented appearance was that she simply had fallen off of her bike while coming back home from a “late night cruise around the neighborhood”,  you still didn’t believe her story. However, for the past few weeks, she seemed more stressed than usual, so you decided to leave it alone, at least for now.
It was around 9PM and Wanda had come down from putting the boys to sleep. After taking notice of how distressed Wanda was, you decided to surprise her with dinner when she came home from picking up the boys from school. She was surprised, to say the least, as she had forgotten that she gave you a house key but that fear was quickly replaced with heartfelt gratitude and adoration once she saw you.
“Tired?” You asked, although you already knew the answer. She flopped onto the couch with a smIle. “Tired is an understatement”
You grin. "Well, at least," You grab two wine glasses from off the counter. "Today is over." You stroll over to the sofa and hand one of the glasses to her and sit down next to her.
Once you’re both comfortably cuddled up on the couch, she turns to you.
“I, uhm,” She starts, seemingly nervous. “I never got to thank you for dinner”
“It was no problem Wands,” She smiles at the nickname. “That’s what friends are for.”
Of course it is. Friends help each other. But Wanda didn’t feel like the platonic word fit your relationship. Ever since you helped her out of her grief all those years ago, she couldn’t help but feel drawn to you. You were there for her whenever she needed you and that didn’t go unnoticed. Plus you had voluntarily become such a prominent figure in her boys’ lives so it was impossible for her not to feel the way she did towards you.
However, she had no idea if you reciprocated those feelings. But unbeknownst to her, you do.
Wanda was there for you after your parents died, just as you were for her after her husband died. And she is just as much of a comfort to you as you are to her. But she was still grieving her husband and you were afraid that it was still too soon.
“Yeah,” Wanda looked down at the wine glass that was now a quarter full. “Friends.”
You furrowed your eyebrows as you concentrated on her dropped facial expression. “I mean that’s what we are, right? Friends?”
“Yeah, Yeah,” She answered quickly before looking back up at you. “Of course.”
You slowly nodded, as if you were trying to convince yourself of her words.
If you were just friends, why are your faces getting so close?
Before you knew it, the wine glasses in your hands were on the coffee table in front of you and all you could focus on was the woman sitting beside you, your noses millimeters apart. Despite the pleasantness of the moment, you couldn’t help but feel a strange darkness loom over the atmosphere, but you were adorned with Wanda to pay attention.
However before either of you could make a move, screams were heard from upstairs.
You and Wanda sprung from your seats almost immediately, running upstairs while yelling the boys' names. When you got upstairs, Wanda opened the door to Billy and Tommy’s bedroom, only to find two empty beds.
Fear spread onto your face at the realization that the twins weren’t in their rooms and quickly rushed out the door, Wanda following right behind you.
As you got closer and closer downstairs, however, you noticed something abnormal.
There was a portal of some sort and a woman with flowing red hair dressed in a red costume.
This made you stop abruptly, almost causing Wanda to run into you. However she didn’t have time to ask you what was wrong as she saw it.
She saw her.
When the woman looked up the two of you, you recognized her immediately. It was Wanda…only it wasn’t your Wanda.
“No…..” Your Wanda muttered, as if she too recognized the woman but for a completely different reason.
Billy and Tommy were trapped on the other side of the portal, calling out to you and their mother. But the woman or the Wanda standing in front of the glowing star portal had no intent on letting you save them.
“Let them go.” You demanded, without realizing you had stepped in front of your Wanda. The witchy woman in front of you appeared to notice how you instinctively protected the other Wanda and glared between the two of you for it.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” She says, her voice was different, it was darker and tired. “But I can’t.”
Before you can question anything (and you have a lot of questions), your Wanda steps up. “Yes, you can. Let my children go and we can talk about this.”
You knew your Wanda wasn’t calm, even though she appeared to be. But you were confused as to why she wasn’t trying to hurt the woman that was holding her children hostage and it seems as though she was holding you back from doing so as well. There was definitely something going on that you’re missing.
“No,” The other Wanda said, darkly. “I don’t think we can.”
Before you could comprehend what was happening, the witchy Wanda conjured up red energy from her hands and pushed it towards the two of you. You both jump out of the way quick enough so that it didn’t hit you and you see your Wanda counter the witchy Wanda’s attack with her own, conjuring up her own red energy and throwing towards her.
You, however, were immensely shocked. Since when could Wanda do that?!
Your Wanda eyed you for a second, seeing your shocked expression. She didn’t want you to find out like that, but there was nothing she could do about it now.
The portal had closed behind the witchy Wanda as she fully focused on fighting you two. Although your Wanda had the same power (or so it seems) as the witchy Wanda, you could tell that the witchy Wanda was more skilled (as well as more powerful) with her abilities. This gave your Wanda a major disadvantage when the fighting became more physical.
Knowing that you had to act fast, you grabbed a nearby floor lamp and charged at the witchy Wanda with it. The strike caused her to get a little unbalanced but was able to keep herself steady, surprisingly.
She looked toward you, her dark glare softening. She could’ve killed you by now but she didn’t, it was like she didn’t want to hurt you. She did, however, send a major blast of energy towards your Wanda, flinging her to the wall, immediately knocking her out.
You cried out to her but she couldn’t hear you.
“Don’t worry about her love, it’s just you and me now” The witchy Wanda spoke, possessively. You try to run to your Wanda but you realize that the other Wanda had already tied your hands together using her energy.
“Let go of me you bitch!” You yelled when Wanda opened the portal, trying to pull you through.
She stared at you for a moment, complete shock washing over her features. You had never spoken like that to her in her universe.
You watched in terror as the shock on her face is replaced with violent anger. She then grabs your shoulder and forcibly pushes you through the portal, not even giving her alternate self's house a second glance before walking through the portal and shutting it.
