Audience research
As we are still in the middle of producing our short film platform perspectives I am planning ahead to how I am going to conduct the audience research for when the film is finalised. This will help me and the rest of the crew and chance to see what went well and what could be improved. Taking what you have created and letting strangers analysis it is a good way of hearing how your production will be perceived by others. We can also use these outside opinions to sculpted are film to please both are expectations and the audiences expectations. I feel a focus group would be a great way to get different options from different types of people, with their own interests and opinions. To get the most information out of our audience I’m hoping to film the focus group and there reactions. This can be further analysed and developed. It will also help to develop my understanding of how to research your audience’s opinion. I would like to capture the group’s reaction whilst they are watching ng the short film and then when they talk about the film. By getting them to discuss between themselves you will help to get a more relaxed environment which isn’t focused on the camera. Also by bouncing there ideas and opinions of each other will help to spark further ideas. I will also hope to post our short film on YouTube as this is a self-designed comment box that can get opinions from a wide range of people from a range of places. This can be more efficient as people are more likely to feel comfortable to leave any comment of their own without having to say anything to a camera or reveal who they are. As a focuse group will give us more of a physical reaction to the film, Comment, likes and shares on Youtube show more of an emotional response the the film. People are also more likely to be honest when it is not infront of a camera.

Platform Perspectives
Who would you turn to if your family didn’t except you for who you were, they’d been lying to you, or kicked you out so you had no place to call your home. When the people you call your family and friends turn out to be nothing more than strangers to you, who would you turn to? What would it make you become?
The Railway Children had been abandoned and on the own with only one male figure they believe to be there only ray of hope in life. Unaware that he was stealing there innocence and exploiting them in a way so clever they were manipulated to think it was all for there own good, but do you blame them for trusting him? Being so young and venerable, alone with only the people around them to rely on.
Using their naive perception of love and other drugs to bribe them into getting what he wanted out of them. Josh had them wrapped around his little finger, the clasp of his touch like poison.
The Railway Children had be prostituted out for 4 years after being found by Josh near the near by railway station. All the girls one at a time picked up and unaware of the fate awaiting them.
One of the oldest girls in the group had just committed suicide on a near by railway track.
Now it’s Phoebe’s job to find a new girl for their team else there will be consequences for all the girls. However when the girls form a bond with the new girl of the group, Liv; who’s run away from home on the pursuit of finding her real parents. How do they stop her from getting hurt and abused like the rest of them?
But it’s too late for Liv as once josh becomes aware of the girls new discovery he soon becomes very fond of her and decides she will be part of the ’team’.
As the girls slowly saw what Josh was doing to Liv they soon realize they can’t just stand back and let it happen anymore. The girls decide to let go of their fears, stand up from them selves by helping Liv escape to the police station.
The girls finally get to tell their side of the story. Even Josh has something to say about all he has done.
Now Liv, Phoebe and Annabel could let go of the past and know Josh was safely behind bars and after everything they still had each other to rely on.
Liv founds out in the end her real parents were killed in a car crash when she was a small child and this was the reason she was given up for adoption. She also learns that she appreciated her adopted parents because even though they aren’t blood related they loved and cared for her still, just like the girl did for her.
The girls also went on to find adopted family of their own, always treasuring each other and the friendship they made through everything.

Script Writing
In our second session we started working on narrowing the story line down to one main plot, taking ideas out of our previous story board and leaving pieces of the script open for improvisation for the actors. Leaving room for interpretation to the actors can help to create a more live, realistic performance.
This session we used the camera and screens a lot more to show the actors the different limitations to working with a camera in front of them. This helped both media and performing arts students to develop there understanding off how working on something like a set of a film may feel.

Script writing Development
After all the actors and media student had been split into groups we started to develop some ideas for an actual script. After working with the different characters and finding out things about theres characters it was easy to bounce idea between the two creative groups....Although we may have got ahead of are selves and started to produce what seemed to look like the script of a short story, this still helped us to come up with some really interesting ideas for are main script. It was just the task of focusing are ideas into one short main plot.

Script Writing Workshop
To start are first script writing session off with played around with filming all the different actors normally, asking them some questions. Some being average questions, others more thought provoking. Then we asked the questions whilst the actors were in there characters. This workshop helps us explore the characters in a more deep interesting way, helping us to come up with ideas of how they would fit into a creative story.
Exploring your characters and actors before working with them is a great way to see which actors you work well with and how you can work along side there characters to come up with uniques pieces of writing. This helped give me a better understanding of what it would really be like to work with actors we may not know in a professional way.

SBA 2013 Conclusion
After completing our films for the somerset Business Awards i cam confidently say i feel i have a better idea of what it is really like to work in the media industry, producing films.
We've learnt how to communicate with companies professional to be able to arrange schedules. Then we started on pre-production which i was confident with because of last years experiences with pre-production. We then went on to working hands on with our companies, in charge of all production, using our pre-production to give us a basic layout of how we wanted out films to go. I've developed my confidence with using equipment to produce the best quality film with smooth , creative and unique edits. Bringing the best out in the companies we work with.
Throughout the project i have learnt how important pre-production is for making a professional impression on the companies, showing them we have planned everything that needs to be done ahead of time. It is important to make a good impression on your production company because this can further lead to recognition and even possible work opportunities. After working with our first company, pre-production became more natural and easier to complete because we had seen the effects of a well planned project.
Are first client was Mike Turner who developed a GPS gadget  (Staff guardian) which kept track of cares on the job, that helped you see there location and alerts you if they are in any danger. As Mike was nominated for both 1-10 business awards and new business award of the year, we decided to come up with two completely different videos showing the different aspects of his company. First being the new business awards and promoting the product he had developed, to help Mikes company and product stand out from the rest of the films in the SBA's we started pre-production on a short film promoting the products purpose. We then started pre-production for his 1-10 business of the year film, which would focus more on his company and the staff as a whole more in detail.  Once we had completed pre-production to the point that we were confident to start filming, we got all the paper work verified through either Alan or Mino to give us the go ahead with filming.
To give a more professional image we arrange to meet with Mike for a coffee to discuss filming dates, ideas and any queries he may have had.                     This helped a lot to give us an idea of exactly what he wanted and if he was happy with the ideas we had planned in our pre-production. likely Mike was very happy with are unique approach to his SBA films and was happy to work with us on making our ideas a realty. After filming everything with Mike, we started to edit all the footage together and came to notice some of the sounds quality wasn't right (due to echoing). Likely Mike was very helpful throughout the project and gladly agreed on meeting us a complete times to work on the sounds and get the videos to the finished quality he wanted. The project as a whole worked really well and even though there were a few blips with the sounds, we managed to resolve these issues and put together a video we were really happy with. I feel by preparing a good pre-production folder and gaining support from Mike by working well with him, we put together something we could all be happy with.
The second company we worked with was SCIL, the Somerset centre for integrated learning. This was quite different from out first client because it was more to do with what the staff had done for the company, not the company itself....(incomplete)

What kinds of ethical issues need to be considered when making corporate film?
The main concern with ethical issues when it comes to corporate videos is inequality. This is because if a company are seen to be unethical whether that be race, religion or gender for example, then it can turn into a legal matter. This is where setting a good impression on a companies ethical values is very important.
This means that when making a corporate video you have to become aware of the fact everything has to come across fair. For example gender can be seen as an issue in some cases. By including both males and females in your video if possible the company will give the impression that they are not bias. As there business environment is going to be on camera producers need to make sure there are no small details where people can be miss lead and can give the wrong impression. For example a man and a woman are both just as legally right to be allowed to take maternity leave. There should be no bias towards men not having the right to maternity leave in their workplace.
Religion is a big part of our world and most people will following a certain religion, but not all the same religions. It is not the fact that companies need to show they follow all these different religions but that they except and respect each individual and their choice of faith (or no faith) that they have decided upon. As long as its made clear that their beliefs are allowed and that it is not made an issues then the company is being respectful. There for gaining respect and even potential clients.
Much like religion, race is taken seriously and has in the past been legally looked upon throughout the business industry as an issue of discrimination. To save money and distress you have to make sure no one appears to be singled out because of their race. This can leave a unprofessional impression on your company and could lead to loss of costumers and even money because of legal reasons if not taken seriously. Companies can be held liable even before employment, in pre-employment interviews f they are seen to be discriminating certain races by asking certain questions to maybe get a better understanding of hat there race or religious belief is.
