Friendly reminder
“In a healthy relationship, your partner hears you out if you’re upset, and their goal is to avoid upsetting you in the future, not to debate whether you should have been upset in the first place.”

why the fuck am i so sensitive? i hate it. i hate it so much and im angry rn. idk why im here
🌼 being sensitive can be really hard. it’s tiring when seemingly insignificant things someone says or does can bring you down. it’s hard when you feel everything.
🌸 my personal story is that it does get better, even if it meant periods of numbing emotions and bad mental health. i still struggle with being sensitive even though it’s much easier for me to hide it. but I’ve found that as time went on I got used to it and instead used my sensitivity as a useful trait to notice the good things and feelings in my life. the bad things are now easy to not dwell over even though they still hurt a lot initially. so the main message is, it does get better.
🌷if you’re easily overwhelmed by your environment, it does help to think in the present and breathe and remind yourself that you’ll be okay. if you’re easily affected by criticism it really helps to think, ‘if this is constructive criticism, it’s good for my growth, it does not make me a failure, but a work in progress.’ if you’re easily upset by mean things people can sometimes do, even unintentionally, it really helps to think ‘this is not personal, they’re probably not having the best day or they might have some pent up emotions inside and taking it out on me.” it’s also good to learn to laugh at yourself when you do something embarrassing because it’s just another funny story to tell. don’t take people and life seriously whenever you feel hurt, and remind yourself that everything that hurts will pass or get better.
💖 be nice to yourself. being sensitive in response to your environment is already hard, why make it worse by being horrible to yourself? treat yourself with utmost kindness. you are not a failure, you’re lovable and a masterpiece and also a work in progress, so forgive yourself for any mistakes and do not label yourself based on how people have treated you. it’s good to do what makes you feel healthiest or happiest. even if it’s little things like making a nice breakfast or letting yourself relax and sleep enough. being sensitive is so much hard when you don’t treat yourself with love. realize your worth, learn to love yourself and nothing can hurt you.
🌻another thing that helped me was, separate things into two categories: is this thing useful for my growth or just plain insensitive or upsetting? for the first option, learn to change your thoughts so that you’re ok with criticism. for the second option, it’s good to laugh at it or become apathetic to it because it’s just one tiny part of your day and you don’t give it the power to ruin everything because you deserve to be happy.
🌷embrace your sensitivity. it will take time to fully appreciate your sensitivity but once your mind becomes apathetic to the unconstructive bad things in your life it can become really lovely. you can use this power to see the beauty in everything and spread your radiance to others. instead of letting small things ruin your day you can let small things brighten your day. you know how bad things can feel so everyone around you can feel really at ease, not to mention your compassion will brighten the days of everyone around you.
I hope this helps!!

“행복해지고 싶다면 다음과 같은 사실을 두려워하지 말고 정면으로 받아들여야 한다. 우리는 항상 불행하고, 우리의 슬픔과 괴로움, 그리고 두려움에는 늘 그만한 이유가 있다는 그 사실을 말이다. 이런 감정들을 따로 떼어 놓고 볼 수는 없는 법이다.”
If you want to be happy, you must accept the following truth without fear: We are always unhappy, and there is always sufficient reason to be sad, to suffer, to be afraid. There is no way to isolate happiness from these emotions.
— from the korean translation of Martin Page’s Une parfaite journée parfaite. Quoted as an epigraph in the book “죽고 십지만 떡볶이는 먹고십어” (I want to die, but I also want to eat tteokbokki)

i think its nice hospital playlist has older characters at the same level as people who are younger than them which is true to reality like that resident who failed the college entrance test and the bar multiple times and decided to go to med school or chi hong who entered med school after getting sick and having to leave the military at 29 like you're never too old to start a new path and learning is never-ending
