Waiting this long was rare for the sage, and he was in the middle of helping cook when the time dawned on him.  He was late!!

He ran full speed back to the forge, and was panting, red from embarrasment. “K-Kajiya-san!!! I’m back sorry time just slipped by!!”

“Ah Honorable Saniwa! It is quite alright. I used the extra time to polish the blade more so than the normal time. I hope it is too your liking.”

He gently picked up the tachi blade wrapped in cloth and offered it with both hands to the Saniwa.

Souji just lays some materials down. "Kajiya-san!!! Here you go! Whenever you get the chance!!"

“Hmm? Ok lets see.” 

The blacksmith looked at the material provided. 

“Hm…. I see…. Come back in about 4 hours Honorable Saniwa, is that alright?”

He chuckled as the other left, starting to begin the process. This blade would take a lot of effort to make sure its beauty was to their full potential. 

Souji just lays some materials down. "Kajiya-san!!! Here you go! Whenever you get the chance!!"

“Hmm? Ok lets see.” 

The blacksmith looked at the material provided. 

“Hm…. I see…. Come back in about 4 hours Honorable Saniwa, is that alright?”

“Ah yes, Ichigo nii-san is~” Namazuo chirped happily at the mention of his tachi brother, Ichigo Hitofuri. While he might not remember his past much due to the fire at burnt him, he will always fondly remember his big brother Ichinii who has been by his side for many years in the waki’s long history. 

Its a pity that he was separated from Ichi in the end when the tachi was given to the Imperial Family for their treasury. But Nama is sure that he’ll see his big brother again someday… this citadel of swords might offer him the opportunity for such a reunion. 

Putting such thoughts aside, Nama went back to addressing the blacksmith. 

“What about Ichinii?”

“I just enjoy hearing about all my lovely blade’s history and family. Each one is different and always interesting.... I adore each and everyone of you.” 

He smiled as he continued the beginning prep. The Little Catfish would be in for a very kind surprise, while the Blacksmith loved to troll the Saniwa... He would treat the blades and spoil them. 

“I am sure you and your siblings would love to see him again, yes? Now you will even be able to hug him in your current form”

           The Tachi nodded to the smith before following him off to get repaired. “We all may make them but i wish to be able to protect everyone on the team i am leader so that is what i shall do. I took the blows for the others so they would not get hurt but they still got hurt anyways. I am a failure as a leader.” He spoke as he walked behind the smith, his head hung low with the feeling of shame hanging off his shoulders.

Surely he knew there was nothing he could have done but he still blames himself. Even if everyone came back. The wounds of the small tantous carried on his heart like no other. Once he entered the forge he went and sat down and waited for the other to get to work. He didn’t know how long he would take but he hoped it would be short of a time.

The blacksmith stopped and turned to face the blade with a stern look.

“You are not a failure of a leader Shokudaikiri Mitsutada. You are very very far from that. You did all you could to protect them and you brought them home alive. If bringing them home alive is failure than people would rather that than victory. You care very much for your team so much that you carry all the weight on your shoulders and then add more. A failure wouldn’t want their team members to get treatment first. A failure would blame others for the mistakes because they do not want such a burden to plague them. Do not call yourself a failure, it was a mistake and that is all. Do not insult your pride as a Dragon by saying you are a failure Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, I will not hear it.”

It was a rare that the Blacksmith would hold rage in his voice, normally he would hold a light teasing air to it but he refused to listen to the Dragon Claw put himself down in such a way.

       « 獅子王 » “Thank you!” he smiled, sitting down opposite the blacksmith. It was nice and warm in here. He should come around here more often.

       “Master wants an Oodachi, she didn’t specify who but since Ishikirimaru-san is here already I’m guessing one of the others.”

“Aaah? An Oodachi? I remember last time they came to see me themselves they were yelling at me about wanting Jiji.”

He chuckled, using the nickname the saniwa had used. He then looked at the materials received in the request. 

“Hmm.... I think... I will work for 3:00:00 hours on this blade.... I think that will be good.” 

Many options came with three hours, but only one Oodachi....  Curious One was also an option, along with KaKaKa and the Peacock of the Shinsengumi... Many options to make the Saniwa think through.

“So how have you been Curious one? I haven’t had much time to talk with many of my dear creations.”

“That’s right Smith-san!! We’ve brought a bit of everything for you!” The little fox moved upon Nakigitsune’s shoulder to rub against the hand happily. They did enjoy being pet after all.

Meanwhile the uchigatana merely nodded quietly, adjusting the basket he was holding.

He smiled and gently rubbed the little fox’s head, finding the other’s eagerness cute. 

“Dear Masked Fox you can place the basket right over there if you wish, I will start soon for our Honorable Saniwa. Would you like to sit and rest a bit?” 

The blacksmith turned his sight completely on the Toudanshi

“….eh??” He blinked a bit, not sure what just happened, but a four hour wait?? “A-ah… okay…”  Souji smiled.  He didn’t know what was going on and wasn’t going to question it.

“I hope you will be pleased when you return Honorable Saniwa.” 

He smiled and waved a bit to the other.
