Now I wanna go through the design history for Micheal and William as the time they where once one guy and are part of The Ogs and are now reactive to the present

William afton oldest appearance I could find as a ghost and yea he is That purple guy and it applied to the other human fnaf characters and in a sense is basically the unholy fusion of Michael and William with only the surface level of the full lore realized .

Though for his first iteration he has the fnaf eye switch and is somewhat retain with the modern design but with shadows instead

Now for Micheal it could be any of them grey humanoid guys though these two might not actually be Michael the top could be Jeremy and the bottom maybe phone guy . Thought gold eyes was Micheal but with further examination is actually pre murder arc William with the CC as proof

Man every other fnaf character might gotten drawn before mike or his drawing is lost media

The first attempt to modernized willy back at 2017 for the gen 2 drawing era and design has the old design but more human styles and literal unsure if he's still purple as he's permanently a sketch but I think hes not litterally purple in this new design.

And now with the first try in the 2023 Micheal finally made his certain appearance and has unfused form William Afton and this is apparently their earliest design after their long absence

Later on William Afton got his canonish design inspired by the sliver eyes . I believe that the old and new designs existed within the canon just at different points in his life with this one being when he was will Defoe

While William Afton his final design was more solidified as he honors the classic purple guy design while being his own character when at this point is independent from his father as the man who cameos in other series in the 80s to 2030s of the overrall timeline. With his greatest debut being when he attempted to win for Henry as the most diseased character having the greatest reveal in this blog and the design stayed and attempted to replicate in the rendered design but it was an attempt while the simplified was his best design by far.

With the present designs it takes form the past designs but also from the sources like the fnaf movie with Mathew linnard as William Afton and Micheal having his movie counter parts jacket with all of the modern designs following the original fnaf styles and reinterpated, especially when it comes to the sprites , a fusion of the infusion. And in FNAF 4, Michael is the closest we will ever get to having a pre-scooped Michael in this series, until it's revealed what Michael Afton actually looks like. Whether we are sure FNAF movie Michael is an Afton or not, and whether we are sure the FNAF games reveal his face, remains to be seen.
