happy friday the thirteenth

hello, hello.

it's been a while.

let me start by apologizing for falling off the face of the internet over a year ago now. i wish i had a better explanation for y'all, but truthfully, i just felt burnt out and had personal issues to work through that greatly impacted my desire to write anything or even maintain some kind of internet presence.

i will say my life has changed significantly shortly after i stopped writing and i didn't have the time i used to to write. i returned to school and lost all of my free time.

he's a killer queen, the most widely read of my fics and the only one to be regularly updated, became scarier and scarier to write. i appreciate every single one of you who has read any of my works and enjoyed it or left me comments letting me know how you felt about it, and i deeply appreciated that all of you were so endlessly kind about my writing. at the same time, something i really enjoyed writing and imagining and updating became something of a burden. i didn't love how i wrote the second trial in the goblet of fire and rereading those chapters, i can see my own indecision and hesitation in deciding how to progress in that moment. i cared a lot that people liked my writing and worried about failing to meet people's expectations, and it became harder to write at all. especially as i approached fifth year, with umbridge, i struggled. i experienced the same feeling where i did not like how i was writing umbridge, but felt my own expectation of me to post forcing me to write her character anyway.

i still think about he's a killer queen and all of my unfinished works and think about how i had planned to wrap them up way back when. most of them also have final chapters outlined, although everything in between has been yet to be written.

beginning in january of this year, i knew october 13th would be a friday and i imagined it would be the perfect day to return to posting. and yet, my 29th chapter, titled "edward elric is back in black" is half-finished.

i cannot promise any firm deadlines moving forward, but i intend to be more active. i will be done with my degree in 2024 and once i'm back to working, i think i will have more brain power to be creative and get back into writing, which i truly love. i still write snippets of ed and the gang here and there, they're not forgotten.

i really hope to share my silly little stories with y'all again soon.

he's a killer queen update

hi y'all.

happy "friday" the 13th.

i know it's short notice but i'm not going to post today.

i've gotten a lot of feedback from many of you that you would prefer monthly updates and I also think monthly updates would be better in terms of keeping me on track to actually finish the whole story and plan on continuing monthly updates. the only thing i can't figure out is when i will start monthly updates again. i am not planning on taking a huge hiatus because i know my motivation to write will suffer and i do really want to finish this story. so at most, i am thinking of starting to post again in either may or june this year (so two or three month gap in posting).

i'm just not hugely happy with what i've written for 29 and fifth year (starting chapter 29) is really important (in my head) for me to write. it's a lot of the complications i've built up to happening at once and it's almost 90% guaranteed to be the second to last year ed is in hp universe. with ed having already started to destroy horcruxes, there isn't much of a point in him going through sixth and seventh year hp, because the events of those years could reasonably occur in a single year (the way i currently have planned).

i'm struggling a bit with umbridge and how she talks and it's made my draft of this chapter sound incredibly weird. i think overall i want to spend some quality time rereading my own fic and remembering some of the details i have forgotten.

i'm going to take some time to figure it out and will hopefully be on track to post starting may. i will let you guys know before april ends if i decide to skip posting may as well, because i will definitely have more time to write starting june and july and might have a better idea of how to write then.

like i put in ao3, i would like to know if any of you have a preference on whether i continue monthly updates as i have been and the story ends whenever it does or if you would rather i go on hiatus, finish the whole story, and then post it once i’m done

Not sure if anyone has asked this before or maybe if I'VE asked this before but like how do you imagine Ed's voice being like? Like does he have a British accent? (seeing as he's only familiar with British English) because that would be so hilarious tbh

I think I once answered someone that I only made one mention in the story that Ed doesn’t have a perceivable accent (stated by Neville) so I guess that means he has a British accent which I should’ve thought about before. It’s not hugely noticeable or consistent but sometimes I write the HP characters using a British English word for something (jumper) but I have Ed say it using American English (sweater) because I use American English 🙃

In my head though he just sounds like my voice but angry lol because tbh that’s how all the characters sound in my head

Good morning Amity Park, I'm your weatherman, Lance Thunder. Today's Wednesday, March 9, and there’s a 0% chance of rain. Highs are in the low forties and lows are in the high twenties.

A ghost bear attacked the Waffle House yesterday. It knocked down a few cars in the parking lot before making its way inside the restaurant. Luckily, the Employees were able to scare it away by hitting it with a broom. This is what Waffle House regular, Chris Walters, has to say about the incident.

“I was just eating my pancakes and this big green thing walked into the place like it was people. It tried to take my pancakes but I hit it on the nose. That made it mad so John just whacked it a couple times to distract it from me. I don’t really know what happened next, I was too busy eating my pancakes.

The Waffle House is not responsible for any cars damaged in the incident.

The Fentons will likely not be driving today so the roads are safe.

ive been following killer queen for about a year and a half now which is crazy to think about! your fic has helped me through a lot of tough times. i always have something to look forward to every month. i want to thank you for writing it and continuing to stick with it even after two years! hope everything is well with you!! looking forward to your next update :)

how many chapters do you reckon killer queen will be?

this is a very good question and the answer is i'm not sure. originally i had planned for this fic to be around 25 chapters, ending in seventh year, but that didn't happen.

as things are right now, i would guess probably at least 45-50 chapters?
