It has made it easy to connect to our family members, friends, and relatives on a real-time basis. With social media, people can share pictures and videos and communicate with their close ones. This has strengthened relationships and it is bringing families together in a way that was not possible in the past. Social media has impacted society in so many different ways, good and bad, for example, when it comes to race, social media has brought awareness to a lot of the racist incidents that has been happening around the world and now the popular hashtag #BlackLivesMatter has made its way around and got acknowledge. The incidents of oriental hate crimes have gain people's attention, along with the recent Ukraine and Russia incident. Also, gender, we keep seeing social media expand around us right under our noses from legalizing gay married and protecting them because everyone deserves to be treated equally. I love it!
From a professional standpoint, social media allows you to: Create a far-reaching network of peers and leaders in your chosen career area. The more time spent on social media can lead to cyberbullying, social anxiety, depression, and exposure to content that is not age appropriate. Social media has changed our ways of communication, relationships, and affected everyone's life.
Between our personal and professional, they are both affected by social media and social media plays a big role in many common ways. But some ways they do not, Professional communication is clearer and more concise than personal communication. Personal communication is intended for a wider audience than professional communication. Personal communication is more formal than professional communication. In essence, business communication seeks to persuade, whereas interpersonal communication seeks to share information.

The Relation of Mass Media and Computer Mediated Communication
The internet-connected computer has revolutionized mass communication, or the spread of information on a large scale. We use our computers to produce text or graphics, share and spread information online, or simply gain information from others who do so. We communicate via YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, email, or Zoom.
Using technology to communicate effectively among people is a newer skill that not all workers have. Technology and digital communication have actually helped people with their communication skills and learning how to create messages that are understood in so many characters or less. Some may say it has been unsuccessful because of informal communication and the lack of relationship building, but we have to remember the speed and efficiency, how it helps mobile workers and the resources we have access to now.
Mobile devices allow colleagues to collaborate from anywhere in the world, thus removing any hindrance to clear communication. Smart mobile devices coupled with Internet facilities have made it possible to conduct teleconferences, online meetings, video calls and so on. Mobile tools increased communication speed is one of the benefits we get from mobile technology. Before the first phones and radios were operational, people could only communicate through the mail. If someone lived hundreds of miles away from you, it would have taken weeks or even longer to send and receive a single message, now it takes seconds.
Technology has had a huge impact on all our daily lives, from social media to work, we look at the area’s most hit. Technology affects almost every aspect of 21st century life, from transport efficiency and safety, to access to food and healthcare, socialization and productivity. For as long as humans have been on this planet, we’ve invented forms of communication, from smoke signals and messenger pigeons to the telephone and email, that have constantly evolved how we interact with each other. So, yes, the action was a part of a larger movement or agenda.
Collective action was reported in three different types of mass media by first, responding to existing calls for the development of a research agenda regarding the interplay between identity, collective action and by developing conceptual and methodological research directions. Second, by proposing an integrative approach combining the study of identity and networks to address the research directions that the agenda proposes. Thereby, not only improve our understanding of collective action via CMC but also provide more theoretical nuance and synthesis to the concept of identity in a largely multidisciplinary domain. Third, by showing the practical implications of studies on identity, collective action and CMC. Activists not only construct and develop new identities via CMC but also exploit CMC to organize, coordinate and communicate about collective action to achieve social change.
When I consume news online it is usually on Instagram or Facebook. All the good and bad news I hear usually comes from social media, whether it someone passing away, something about the law or bills being passed to church shootings, etc. I hear it first on social media.
When consuming news online for me it is more of a dramatic feel than reading it in the newspaper because online have graphics and sounds and emotional behavior than reading in it a newspaper is more boring.
When it comes to computer-mediated communication what has affected information exchange is credibility in my opinion. We have lost credible sources due to how easy it is to lie to the world using the internet. In good of it, we have gained more resources that helps a lot of people in the long run. Technology has transformed the way news is produced, delivered and consumed around the world. From disruption in business models to changes in readership and access, digital platforms make journalism more vibrant and more fragile. Not being able to get away from mobile news sources is changing human communication by decreasing the quality of what you talk about, because you talk about things where you wouldn't mind being interrupted, which makes sense, and, it decreases the empathic connection that people feel toward each other, you are constantly at work even when you are not at work, it takes away from having a fun outgoing life and it is starting to make our body depend on it.

Computer Mediated Communication
Computer-mediated communication (CMC) is an umbrella term that encompasses various forms of communication through networked computers (i.e., videoconferencing, phone calls, email messages, etc.)
My daily communication is mediated through the use of technology, such a cell phone, laptop, and social networks. I use my cell phone everyday almost all day, I even sleep with it or have it on my night stand next to my bed. Being in school online requires me to be on my laptop so often, completing my assignments or I will use my laptop to research multiple things if my cell phone is running slow. Also, I usually check my social networks like Instagram and Facebook every day, I just recently deleted my twitter account app, but I still receive emails often about twitter.
Some advantages smartphones provide – better means of communication, learning options to users, great exposure to the latest things, ways to personality development, simple ways to access applications, ideas to succeed in business, platforms to grow their applications, and more
Laptops allow employees to virtually connect with customers at any time of the day. Besides traditional email, employees can follow up with leads in creative ways using tools like Skype, social media outlets like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter and customer service chat platforms
Experiencing Connection, On and Off-Line. At its core, social media holds out the promise of connection. A key idea behind Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and other platforms is that we can create rich networks of friends, receive frequent updates from people in our lives, and build a sense of community.
Social rules may be constrained by technical means that enforce a given policy of use. Privacy is one such example: to allow wide acceptance and use of computer-mediated communication systems, these systems must guarantee privacy protection.
In order to find a balance between the exchange of (private) information and keeping a certain degree of privacy, users need to develop a certain communication.
In the future, computer mediated communication can be leveraged in conducting businesses, for instance, telecommuting and video conferencing.
You will be able to get immediate feedback, have rich resources thanks to the collective information from different parts of the world, effective communication, effective alternative than other communication medium, and it will also Bring people together beyond social, religion circle.
Computer mediated communication breaks down geographical barriers to communication enabling collaboration through communication over distance. 2. People can exchange, store, edit, broadcast, and copy any written document.
Computer mediated communication has affected my face-to-face communication because now people show fake love. It has become a distraction everywhere from work to school, to having family time, it is hard trying to have family dinner without someone being on their phone even if it is me. There has been a lot of misunderstandings, especially with words and feeling, if you are reading a text, you can misread something compared to being face-to-face where that person can actually explain. Which that will make you not know a person is really feeling and can eventually loses close friends have drama, this has happened to me.
