Ok I posted a heartbeat recording so I’ve earned a yap session. I wanna babble on about how Dead by Daylight is like… the game for cardiophiles lol. There’s plenty of heart stuff in this game I’m not including here, I’m just giving few examples. For those who don’t know, I like this game a lot and I’ve been playing it since 2021, in that time I’ve noticed so many little moments that’d make a cardiophile squeal.
First thing are perks, I love the adrenaline one with the needle in the heart, there are so many other perks in dbd with the realistic heart included, I like this one best. Another is one of the new perks in the game from the new survivor who’s an EMT, I love the steth she has in the icon.
There are a few heart charms I know of in game, but this is my fav becuase it’s a realistic heart. I love how it looks trapped.
One of the newer changes in the game was adding a visible heartbeat on your survivor to warn you when the killer is close. Before this you just had to use your ears to hear the heartbeat. I love watching the animation play for this where the heart contracts. I haven’t looked much into it but I’d imagine when the developers add this to the characters, they have to make adjustments to the size and placement of the heart to account for the different body types of the survivors, which is cool to me.
While I was making this post, I saw someone posting about a skin in the game titled ā€œopen heart surgeryā€ and needed to add it here. The other skin I have a pic of is a Valentine’s one which I love the detail of an arrow stuck through the heart, in game it bleeds too.
This knight skin is my favorite. I had to include a video for this one to show how it’s animated in the game. The knight has an exposed heart and you can see it pumping throughout the game, so mesmerizing. Not my footage because I couldn’t get the footage myself due to the skin not being up to view rn, I think because it’s a Halloween one it’s gone until Halloween or something.
The image below is from the dbd lore for one of the killer’s backstories. It’s pretty gruesome to watch, but this one part is pretty captivating for a cardiophile due to the heart being exposed, in the cutscene thing it is also pumping. If anyone wanted to watch this one I’d warn you it’s really gross lol.
I think that’s all I have to say about this for now

I guess I have a hot take here when I say I think it’s weird and wrong to rope others into your fetish. I’ve seen this twice so far, both cases on twitter (this was months ago btw I just never said anything but I’m still seeing it happen so I’m talking abt it) but someone makes a completely innocent post that appeals to those with a ā€œnicheā€ fetish and you decide to…directly ask them to provide you with fetish content???? Fucking HELLO? Maybe it’s just me but that’s so fucking weird.
I would make the claim that these people take advantage of the other person’s naivety since they don’t see [thing] as attractive, but it’s not like these accounts are getting subtle. The first one I think of is the Twitter account whose name is ā€œa cardiophileā€ like the ppl they’re interacting with are going to look into that and realize why this rando is replying to their post asking to hear their heart beating.
It’s just baffling to me seeing the internet activity of these type of people. This Twitter guy absolutely goes into twitter’s search with key words ready like ā€œpulse,ā€ ā€œheart,ā€ ā€œchest,ā€ etc. it’s obsessive and weird, especially when there’s so much cardiophile content on other platforms, like just readily available on YouTube but you seek out strangers and ask for fetish content from someone who was clearly not posting with that intent. I feel like this rant is all over the place but I’m not going to revise this, I think i got my point across fine

I need to talk abt this as I’m fighting sleep. So I had started this Castlevania show recently and it’s abt vampires so I was expecting some heart scenes and all and just…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This here is perfect. Dracula tearing someone’s heart out then letting it slip from his hand. There’s another scene with him I can’t find a screen capture of where I think he tears out a vampire’s heart? I’m assuming it’s supposed to be a heart, and then he crushes it in his hand. Then there’s another scene where he’s speaking with another vampire and threatens to ā€œbite out his heartā€ Clearly I’m enjoying this show.

So I finally decided to listen to the latest BMTH album (I’m very late) and this is probably my fav song on it. But the heart lyric had me remembering what was my favoriteeee BMTH song when I was like 13 lol. Amazing song for cardiophiles, especially with the flatline put into it. Just showcasing the best lyrics here

Ok, I used to listen to this band quite a bit a couple years ago and I remember trying to find them on streaming services at some point but never finding anything. And every once in a while I’d search without finding anything. Well a couple weeks ago I did my occasional search and found they’re on Spotify?? I never bothered to search into this but apparently they had been taken down after one of the members was unfairly claiming profit. Anywayssss I was wanting to talk about this text bio from Spotify because of the highlighted part:)
Not wrong at all. When I get really into a song I have a significant physical reaction listening to it, and Model of the Year is the one my brain has decided to take a big liking to, I’ll have that on repeat for a while. When I used to listen to them though, I actually thought the little grenade on the album cover was supposed to be a heart, and in defense of younger me I could only access the music from a YouTube reupload and the video quality was terrible, I saw a blurry pink blob and rolled with it lol. Real shame all they ever released was the one EP, I need to find more bands with their style.

Haha not me Meg & Dia posting again, though the first time was on my other account shortly before creating this one. I forgot a music video to this song existed, so I had to check it out tonight and then it just throws random heart scenes at me, which I compiled myself at the bottom and realized out of context it looks weird as hell. I think you should check out the full MV but to add a tldr: the camera is an ai that goes rogue
But yeah seeing the random heart rate readings pop up with the audio had the cardiophile in me perk up a bit and make me wanna share. So so so many more examples I wanna talk abt of this in music videos, one day

I love how I made this side blog to yap then proceeded to go radio silent. I swear I’ve got a million things in my head I just haven’t went to type anything out. But tonight I feel like throwing a bunch of stuff out. And here I’m just talking about a personal interest lol
Out of all my music posting I don’t think I’ve talked about Sleep Token at all? But I love them to death. And this clip just has the cardiophile in my brain going wild. Even though it’s a little sloppy, Vessel draws a heart on his chest, stomach, whatever lol.
And I know other cardiophiles have their personal small details that they love deeply, like some ppl really love visible neck pulses, stuff like that. Personally I fucking love breath sounds/seeing someone’s chest rise and fall when the breathe, especially heavier breathing. And I’ve made posts on my other account of clips showcasing this with ghost, seeing the ghouls breathing hard during a show and all. But god I bet with Vessel you can really see something like this especially since he’s always shirtless and stuff. Now even better I could just imagine being close to him, if he was standing still or something (which he never does lol) and the lighting was right, just seeing his heart pounding in his chest during a show. But uhhh yeah I think that’s it. I might post again tonight just rambling

This is something small I’ve wanted to discuss for a while now. There’s a lot of cardiophiles on here who write stories and stuff but I’ll say, there are a lot of fantasy elements that I think would work so well with cardiophilia.
Vampires are probably the first thing coming to mind. I don’t know a lot about vampires in popular media but I know with all the different adaptions people make for them, they’ve included a few details regarding hearts. Some note that vampires have no heartbeat since the body is dead, or they have a very faint/weak one. There’s a lot that can be done with that idea. Since vampires are popular in romance specifically, just imagine a relationship between a human and a vampire, but the person does not know their partner is a vampire until they put their head to their chest and hear nothing at all. Another popular detail people include for vampires is that they can detect heartbeats from long distances. That would make one hell of a chase scene.
Ghosts are something else that sounds appealing. Since they can phase through objects and people, they could slip their hand inside someone’s chest with ease, cradling someone’s heart in their hand. My favorite part of this would be how people claim they can detect a ghost’s presence by feeling an unusual change in temperature somewhere. Someone could feel a strange chill in their chest they can’t explain, oblivious to the apparition beside them.
But I have a personal favorite honestly: sea monsters, like a fish-human hybrid or something? I don’t know. In my imagination, this creature would have some features that a shark has. Sharks have sensory organs that can detect electrical impulses of other creatures from a distance. So, sharks can hear your heartbeat when you’re in the water. Terrifying. Like the idea with vampires, this would be something good for a chase scene.
I’ve just been thinking about this stuff for a while. With all the stories I see here, it’s mostly dark cardiophilia involving scientists, medical experiments, that sort of stuff. A lot of those seem fairly grounded in reality for the most part, but I wish there was more fantasy like this. I think these ideas are kind of under appreciated
