Day 48/366: Tengeri Falu (stories from my other tumblr)
[Location] Tengeri Falu (P.Q. 1)
Population: Prequake 8,092; Postquake: 2,976
A coastal city found on where the Leinithi River meets the Eastern Sea, it’s tranquility seems to only be broken by the crash of the waves. Citizens of this village rely on the tide and the flowing river on much of their daily life.
Government: The former leader of this city was a human by the name of Tark Mwarin, a jolly man who enjoyed festivities near the ocean. Since the Quake happened, and Tark cannot be found, the master of the harbor has taken his post. Currently led by a Halfling by birth but a fisherman of trade, Osborn Greenbottle has taken this coastal city to life beyond the quake.
Defense: Beyond Sahuagin attacks and rare Pirate raids, the city remains free from most attacks. The fishermen are trained to take up arms again these attacks as well as bringing in the daily catch. A small police force takes care of the city ,atters, with the mayor handling any justice that may have to be dealt with.
Commerce: Since Tengeri Falu sits on the convergence of the Leinithi River and the Eastern Sea, trade is very important. Small booths can be found at the at the harbor as well as many of the residents will sell from their homes. Bartering can be found amongst the residents of the town as well, to help prosper friendship in the town. Wooden chips are given with the sellers initials on it to know where the trading came from.
Organization’s: First and foremost, the main organization is the Fishing Guild especially with its leader now running the city. As with most cities in the county, the Thieves Guild has a face in the city except it doesn’t seem to have as much of a hold in Tengeri Falu as it does in other cities. Membership in the Church of Arte has a high attendance, as well as a smattering of followers of the Cult of Enothischin.
Locations: Besmirth Harbor sits with docks in the river and the ocean, allowing ships to dock in multiple places. The Master of the Harbor rules here, though he has always been held by members of the city who can be lax. Enough gold can pay for both silence or your word in court. (Insight 10)

Day 47/365; Reliqt City (stories from my other tumble)
[Location] Reliqt City (P.Q. 1)
Population: Prequake 27,590; Postquake: 8,132
Government: Ruled by a Dwarven King by the name of Morgran Ironfist he holds his land in a mix of absolute power and strong magic. His closest advisor is a human Warlock by the name of Shevn Briarwood who helps the king consolidate power. The kings brother, Flint Ironfist leads his brothers army. The king rules his city lawfully
Defense: Magical cannons line the walls of the city ready to fire upon intruders while sentient golem roam the streets looking for citizens committing crime. The rest of the defense is taken care by the Ironfist Army.
Commerce: Trade and commerce is very important to the productivity of the city. A market place sits at the foot of the castle walls, and inside the market sits the largest stall that is dedicated to the selling of Rainbow Diamonds. Many of these Diamonds can be sold for hundreds of pieces of gold, making security very tight.
Organizations: Magic is highly prized in this city as magic users can retrieve and protect the Rainbow Diamonds the most effectively, so the Mage Guild has a high value in the city. Like much of the Rosen County, the Church of Arte has a huge presence to better take care of the injured and downtrodden. Since many traders come from long distances to purchase these diamonds, the Thieves Guild also has a noticeable presence even if their headquarters cannot be found.
Locations: With only two known entrances to the Rainbow Diamond Mine are found in Reliqt City, both entrances are heavily guarded. Powerful guards are posted at the entrances with magical items that allow them to see through any disguise, magical clearance is required to enter the mine. Forgery of said magical clearance is impossible. (Investigation 10)
Shotfist Pub and Eatery is the cities most popular place for both locals and travelers to exchange stories and a good meal. Shotfist is an elderly Dwarf who was once a worker in the mines but a lucky accident landed him opening his own pub. People come from all over to hear about all the colors that are found in the depths of the mine. (Insight 15)

Day 46/365: Roesn County (Stories from my other tumblr)
[Location] Roesn County: Land of the Rainbow Diamonds (P.Q. 1)
Stretching from the Leinithi River to the forest surrounding the Greqilin Volcano, and from the Foldrenges Fault to the Eastern Sea, Roesn County is land of a gem found only in this area, the Rainbow Diamonds. Prized for their unique colors and use in magical spells, they are highly prized. Roesn County survived the Great Quake enough that it is moving forward but not without probkems. Boundaries Leinithi River is the largest river in the county and one of the largest in the world. From the southern banks, you cannot see across without magical means. Routine travel across the river does happen but it takes half a day in good weather, close to a day in poor. The waters move rapidly to the Eastern Sea, and swimming is greatly discouraged but it can be done. (Athletics 20). Ships have been traversing these waters since the county was settled but not every ship is lucky, and there is more than one ship with its cargo littering the river floor. (Survival 15)
Greqilin Volcano sits in the middle of a deep an ancient forest. Erupting once a year during the Summer Solstice, it’s flames shoot high in the air, and lava spills into the forest floors keeping the trees around the Volcano very young. There are stories of people climbing the slopes but the only ones that return are those of a hardy constitution. (Poison Resistance/Immunity). The forest surrounding the Volcano has trees that seem to reach high in the sky keeping the forest floors under a day long shadow, with underbrush that makes traveling very difficult. Only one road goes in and out of the woods.
Foldrenges Fault runs where the Aaquliv River once ran, it’s waters now deep inside the fault crevice far beyond the darkness. The fault was created during the great Quake and many creatures now rest in naturally buried graves. Many of the locals are quickly building a bridge to allow access to parts westward. Many dark and evil creatures have made their home in the crevice now, making bridge building a trying task.
Cities River Market: Population 5,637. Centered south of the Leinithi River. Reliqt City: Population 8,132. Home of the Rainbow Diamond Mine Tengeri Falu: Population 2,976. Found where the Leinithi River meets the Eastern Sea Aaquliv Crossing: Population 629. Most westward city in the county Greqilin Village: Population 172. Entrance into the Greqilin Woods
Points of Interest Rainbow Diamond Mine: Home of the largest mine that these gems are found. This mine goes deep into the earth and it was protected by Dwarven magic from the Quake. Entrance into the mine requires magical clearance. (Arcana 10)
Arte Valley: Located between River Market and Tengeri Falu, this naturally occurring valley has the mixture of perfect acoustics and an early morning fog that seems to keep the beauty of the morning sunrise in all day. The Church of Arte has kept this valley secure as a natural place of worship and it is said that at evening, an Avatar of Artefrejil can be seen bathing at a waterfall. (Religion 15)
Oubliette’s Revenge: A dark hole located in the Greqilin Woods which is said to be created by the lava from the nearby volcano. Smoke arises from it nearly all day long and echos of screams that sound like they are from damed souls. (Investigation 20). Anyone who falls into this hole is likely gone forever. (Survival 30)
Jinyra Spring: These springs are formed by magical means and are heated from magma that roams under the ground. Owned by a long standing Elves family, the Jinyra Springs heal injured bodies when submerged in their water. One of the enterprising members of the elven family even sell bottles of the healing water, and costumers always seem to come back for more. (Medicine 20)

Day 45/365: River Market (Stories from my other tumblr)
[Location] River Market (P.Q. 1)
Population: Prequake 34,000; Postquake: 5,637
Government: Led by Governor Grayliv Brightmein, a human fighter that gathered the remaining residents after the Quake and is trying to bring the town back together. He has four mayors to help divide the work in the city as well as keep an eye on the population.
Defense: Currently defended by the River Market Militia, who are currently looking for new recruits. Only about ten percent of the militia served before in the local army. The militia is led by one of the mayors, a Dwarf by the name of Travlik Uhtgher.
Commerce: Much of the trade center as dwindled down to the few profitable traders that still travel. Much of the basic food and gear can be made available within a few hours at the local stores. Exotic goods are very rare and tend to be bought low and sold very high. The few remaining inns and taverns greatly appreciate travelers.
Organizations: The Church of Arte has a high presence there tending the wounded as well as attempting to house and feed many of the citizins. The Cult of Enothischin also has a temple at the waterfront that survived the earthquake. The River Market Militia patrols much of the town keeping bullies and thieves from conning the residents. Before the Quake the Thieves Guild had a large presence in town as well.
Locations: Leinithi River, the main river that flows near the town. Once a calm river that flowed gently near the main town is now very rapidly moving making trade harder than before. Many of the town folks are aiming to build a harbor returning trade back to River Market. Swimming is very difficult, usually reserved for expert swimmers (Athletics 20). Some ships lay in the bottom of the river with their goods still inside the depths. (Survival 15)
Raenyl Marketplace: Once the major bazaar of the town, it easily saw 25,000 people a day from buyers and sellers. One of the most active shops was Beaver Pelt Trading Post, which sold goods of all kind. Now small shops exist amid the rubble as its slowly being carted away. Finding stalls and shops buried could lead to a vast reward or a case of “finders/keepers”(Investigation 15)

Day 44/365: Stories from my other tumblr
[Story] The Great Earthquake Part Three
Aylin’s jaw drops at the words of Huine Aman but does not interrupt Dwairn’s story. Dwairn continues on.
“The shrouded man gave me an option. I had to retrieve a list of items. One item would save one member of my family. He would never tell me who would be the person saved but he informed me that my wife and children would be saved until last. He also told me if I was to return to Queens Heart without all the items delivered to him beforehand, he would murder them all. I asked how was I to return the items and he gave me a scroll and told me to inscribe the items with my blood with the symbol on the scroll and he would get the items. I left as soon as I could.”
“I did not have time even to say goodbye or apologize to my family. I am not even sure they knew my master was dead. I quickly got what little supplies I could, and left Queens Heart before the sun rose. From that point on, I have traveled. For the last 11 years, I have retrieved the items on the shrouded man’s list. I have delved into dark dungeons, fought many of Grendiln’s forces, and did things I never thought I would and regret doing them. More than one man’s life blood has ran down my arms. I have also help topple a tyrannical dictactor, saved children from burning buildings and reunited loved ones together. I doubt I’ll be resting for all eternity, but perhaps I won’t burn too”
Aylin says “Where were you when the Quake hit” he asks in awe of Dwairn and his story.
Replying, Dwairn says “The morning if the Quake, I woke from the barn I snuck into the night before and continued my trek to River Market. I was still a few days out and knew I should reach it without too much difficulty. I walked along the river and about the suns zenith in the sky, I stopped to catch some lunch. After awhile, I noticed a boat heading down the river but it wasn’t sailing right. As it approached closer, I noticed several scavenger birds eating something inside. I swam out to the boat and saw a few Haflings dead in the bed of the boat. I began to maneuver the boat to shore when the Quake hit.”
“Soon the river had waves you would expect to only see at the greatest of storms in the Shaklin Sea, and I tied myself to the small mast of the boat. This happened for what seem to be forever, and I’m sure at some moment, the entire ship had capsized but righted itself before death came to me. The next thing I knew something hit me in the head and I was unconscious. Everything became dark Nad I was sure I was dead.”
“What seemed like an eternity later, I woke up in that boat with it upside down. I saw some grass and rocks within reach and I untied myself. I crawled out from the boat and I now found myself on top of a small mountain, with a waterfall of river now falling from it not to far away. I honestly had no clue where I was. Across the landscape I saw fires and raging rivers in new paths, creatures of all kind dotting the air and more in the forest. I sat in my boat unsure what to do jext, trailing the sun. Realizing I still needed to head to River Market, so I continued now down this hill amongst the chaos.”
“I knew originally the trip should have only taken me four more days but it wasn’t until the tenth night that I reached the clearing that I saw your fire. ”
Aylin says “And now you’re here”
Dwairn nods and says “And if I can’t find that book, my family will die”
Aylin claps his hands together to get the dirt off of them and says “So in the morning, we will go look”
Dwairn looks at him “We?”
His new companion replies and says “Yes, we. I understand the tragedy of losing ones family.”
The two stare at the fire until it grows dim enough for the pair to fall asleep on the logs they were sitting upon.

Day 43/365: Stories from my other tumblr
[Story] The Great Earthquake Part 2
With a sigh that seems to be more Dwairn catching his breath he says “It’s started 11 years ago, and I was married to my childhood sweetheart. Her name was Violna daughter of the towns Blacksmith. Her dad made the finest weapons in all of Queens Heart, as did his family for as long as they could remember. Tales said that their ancestor fought along Queen Constance providing her with the weaponry to defeat Grendiln’s army. Her father as a sweet man to his daughter but always regretted not having a son to continue their legacy. So when Violna started bringing me home her dad took to me instantly.”
“I was 13 when I began to apprentice under him, and married at fifteen. My family was thrilled for me because they felt it honest work, and would in turn move them away from being farmers. Things were going along smoothly for about ten years after we were married. Violna had birthed me two children, both sons which made her family and mine even more glad. I had moved up to being a master craftsman at the Smithy, and together her father and I made the greatest of bladed, armor and goods that had been seen in over a century. My family was able to move off the farm and into the city.”
“When I was 26, a shrouded man walked in. He inquiries to my master about the ability to fix an enchanted blade. Quivkly, he denies his skills to the stranger and he moves on. This man comes in every morning for about a month asking the same question and getting the same answer. One morning, my master does not come in at all and the man comes to me. I tell him I’m willing to try and he produces the blade”
“A glorious elven made sword forged from the purest of platinum. Etched with carvings that seem to thrum energy from it. The handle was inlaid with the smallest and most dazzling sapphires I had ever seen. The man said this blade was known as Lvae Aman, or the Light’s Blessing. You see, the blade was cracked down the runes themself. I told the man I would try but he would need to see a Wizard to make sure the enchantment stayed pure. He shook his head and told me he couldn’t do that, and produced a satchel that jingled full of coins and he emptied it onto the table. A pile of platinum coins lay in front of me and he told me it was payment for the job as well as my silence. I accepted”
“As I began to repair the blade, all I could think about was the riches in my hands as well as the prestige I would get by repairing such a blade. I became obsessed with the blade and before I knew it, it was night. I continued to work. Close to the moons highest point in the sky, my wife came to me asking if I could come to bed. I refused and told her I could not. She pleaded with me but I kept denying her. I thought once I was done, I could shower her in riches. She left. And then the morning came. Her dad did not show, and I kept the doors closed. Before I knew it, a week had passed”
“I spent a week straight working on that blade. I did not know what came over me until I collapsed from lack of sleep near my work bench. I awoke some time later in a strange place in chains. I tried to look around but it was to dark, and when I tried to yell out something shocked me and I could not. I heard a rustling and saw the shrouded man walk to me, and I could see piercing blue eyes send chills down my spine as he lifted his arm and something on the opposing wall lit up”
“It was my master, Violna father. He hung from chains and hooks on the wall, dead. The shrouded man then said to me in a voice that haunts my dreams still “You’re family will be next. Your siblings and their kids. Your parents. Your children. Your wife. For your efforts, I will give you a chance to save them, since you fixed my Blade.” He showed me the blade except the carvings from it now thrumed with a dark red energy and the sapphires seemed to be obsidian. The carvings had changed slightly, and he told me it was the Unlight Blessing, or Huine Aman.“

Day 42/365: Stories from my other tumblr
[Story] The Great Earthquake Part 1
Around a dimly glowing campfire, rustling heard in the brush just past the roaring fire while shadows jump around the quiet landscape. Murmurs of voices fill the air as quiet conversations seem to have a tint of fear in them. Not because of some great beast, or opposing army or even the onslaught of Grendiln’s Army has caused this fear. A lone figure tends to the fire as he notices a shadow getting smaller as the crunch of grass echos under a boot.
Dwairn Thelsen, born of the fate of man and from the now ruined town of Queens Heart walks over to the figure tending the fire. Looking down, Dwairn notices dozens of people looking at him as he walks over. Not quite hit by the affects of malnutrition but coughing from the crisp air of the autumn night, he avoids stepping on anyone or what meager possessions they escaped with. The man at the fire looks up and says “What can I do for you”.
Dwairn replies “Just looking to get warm”
The man says “Can’t offer you any food or water, but if you’re just in wanting a seat, that’s fine with me.” and he offers another log for Dwairn to sit on.
Dwairn sits and nods “Thank you. Name is Dwairn Thelsen.”
“You can call me Aylin”
The two sit quietly for a few minutes watching the fire. Dwairn looks around at those on the ground around the brush. He sees about fifty creatures lying around, composed mainly of humans but a few dragonborn and Elves lay quietly trying to sleep. One holds her children close with a blade near her hands ready to grab if needed. Turning to Aylin, Dwairn says “Looks like a good number survived”
Spitting at the ground, Aylin says “Not nearly enough. Lost about ten times as much just from our area of town alone. Probably another dozen campfires in the area with about the same amount. River Market once boasted about ten thousand people before the Quake. Now, I think we are lucky to have six hundred.”
Dwairn replies “That’s River Market?” he asks pointing at the reckage of what appears to be a ruin covered in earth and water as though it had been buried for centuries. “Blather it” he says in angry.
Laughing at the curse word, Aylin says “From that, I take it you aren’t from around here. Sounds like you’re from Queens Heart.” Dwairn nods but Aylin continues, “How did it fare the ‘quake?”
Dwairn looks at the floor and says “I’m not sure, haven’t been there in about ten years. I came out this direction looking for some historical tomes”
His companion at the fire shakes his head and says “Guess you’re out of luck as our library is somewhere under that mess, probably lost forever. Your best bet is to return home and try to find what family may have survived.”
Shaking his head, Dwairn replies “I can’t do that. By Spïrït grace, I can’t do that without those tomes. I’ll need to find them. I can’t go home without it”
Aylin says “And why can’t you go home”
“It’s a long story” Dwairn says.
“Does it look like I’m going anywhere”
With a sigh that seems to be more Dwairn catching his breath he says “It’s started 11 years ago, and I ….”
