Rationale

Throughout the second half of the semester, our project was to make an animation of our assigned audio clip of a historic or public speech, in the design theme of the speaker. My speech was Taika Waititi's acceptance speech when he won an Oscar for his film JoJo Rabit, the theme I was going for was comedic.

In the intro, I wanted to set the tone of the animation so I made the Oscars trophy fall on the intro text and made it fall down.

The typeface I used was "Obviously", this san serif font has a really informal with a high x-height and overall friendly look to it, so it fits my theme.

Throughout the animation I used emojis, this fits with the comedic theme of my animation. I was inspired by the 2degrees ads with the animated emojis.

I enjoyed designing and making this animation and am proud of what I’ve achieved this semester, I hope you enjoy watching it.

The one criticism I got from George, was the poster was too glaring to look at with the white colour, so I made a 3d book with the animated text.

Graphing and Easing out

For the swinging picture frame, I used the graph for a nice and smooth swinging animation and used ease out when the picture frame settles.

After receiving feedback for George, he said that the text was too big and to make it centred. I also make the emojis smaller and centred.

Music

This could be the music in the animation. It goes with the grand theme of the audio clip, as it from the Oscars. But it might be out if theme with the vibe i'm going for: comedic

Updated Intro

After learning about Adobe Bridge, I add a "Animate Out" effect called "Slide Out to Comp Edge". I think it makes it look more clearer.

Week 11

This week we learnt about Adobe Bridge. Adobe bright previews all the preset animations, this will be helpful for my project, as I can view all of the animations and incorporate them in to my animation.

After some feedback from Lesley and some little tweaks, this draft of the final animation. I decide to stick with the yellow and white colour because I think it more comfortable to the eyes.
