Now that Fyodor’s ability is revealed, most of the fandom already theorise that Dazai is probably the only person who can kill Fyodor.

But the thing is, in the light novel “55 Minutes”, it is revealed that when Dazai is about to die, his ability shuts down first before he really dies. That’s why Yosano could heal Dazai, though the time frame is only 0.5 seconds before death.

Even if Dazai kills Fyodor, he only kills the host of the ability itself. Fyodor will exist because his ability “crime and punishment” is only active when death happens. So it continues to exist until it can take over the new host. And Dazai’s nullification does not erase the ability’s existence, it can only temporarily stop the ability from becoming active, or take effect on him. So that 0.5 second time frame is deadly, because Fyodor could subsume Dazai easily, and there’s no way of knowing how fast it can occur.

The only way to outsmart this ability now is for the murderer to die before Fyodor dies. So we would need a 100% effective way of doing this . There are options like poison, which gives the murderer enough time to kill themselves first before the ability activates.

Which means anyone can kill Fyodor, but the killer has to sacrifice themselves. Thus, Dazai may not be the person who kills Fyodor in the end. Okay, Dazai’s suicidal desires probably would put himself to be the guy who would initiate the plan. But with how everyone was baffled by the fact Bram Stoker was the person who’s taken over by Fyodor and not Sigma or Nikolai, I’m really not surprised that a plot twist would happen and it won’t be Dazai
