"22tape is a nomadic artist who now resides in LA. His music pays homage to hip hop, IDM, bass and garage. He loves the unpretentious and DIY side of beat-making, yet is enamored by the unheard, and strives to bring an original sound all his own.

His Pratfall EP takes broken beats combined with vocal samples, dusty melodies, sub-bass and dubbed out transitions and walks that fine line between the obscure and accessible. If you're not careful, you might catch yourself chin-scratching while doing the windmill.

On superior remix-duty, Coco Bryce steps up to bat. Mister Adam worked the art as only he can. Ivo Statinski gave the EP a facelift with his remarkable mastering-skills."

This series germinated in my head during the Christmas season 2011. I pictured myself hanging out decorations in weird places. My first experiment was a string of 100 Christmas lights of one metre square. I started shooting this light installation in the nearby forest, and I realised that I would use this method to investigate the notion of landscape.

"......The sounds 22Tape creates somehow manages to combine the faded polaroid memories of yesteryear with the floating city sheen of tomorrows dreams, though he’d probably seek to distance himself from anything that ties him into some ‘deeper meaning’. For as much as he is serious about his craft, he’s not that serious about life – how else could you name a track ‘Urethra Franklin’? Despite the joke, Urethra and her stable mates pack the same melodic insights, the same attention to detail, the same 22Tape hallmark of quality. From the fantastic plastinated bassline and glinting chimes of  ’Like The Green’ to the old school arcade of ‘Liquidity’, we could have put the whole EP on here....."
