Hey, amidst the chaos of... everything on the internet, pay attention to Hawaii/Hawai'i!

There have been plans from a non Hawaiian organisation to build a 5 acre parking lot, 13 lot subdivision and a comfort station for tourists on the ridge of the sacred Pololū Valley!

This project doesn't acknowledge Pololū Valley as a wahi pāna (a celebrated and storied place in the cultural traditions of Hawaii/Hawai'i) and instead treats it as just plain land that can be sold to a highest bidder.

Pololū Valley is anything but that.

So please sign the petition to stop this project! As of writing this, 883,470 people have, but we need more!

Fun fact! I had the opportunity to meet the VAs for Barnacles and Kwazii several years ago at an aquarium but little-me was too stricken with hero-worship and got scared (hindsight, definitely had an anxiety attack abt it) so unfortunately I ended up not doing that and instead went to pet the urchins in the touch pool. UGHHH MISSED OPPORTUNITY. Sobbing

I digress; Octonauts is such a fun and cute show and it introduced me to some of my favorite bits of wildlife and it just. Remains terribly charming to this day :3 I’m glad you’ve gotten your littler relatives into it

Octonauts was one of my favourite kids shows growing up because of its marine biology content (i was a huge nature nerd as a kid, i need to get back on that shit) also because the characters were so likeable, also there were some great lessons in there. And the artstyle's cute. I've already gotten my baby cousins hooked on the show >:))) I think their favourites are Kwazii as well hehe (i wanted to be kwazii so bad as a kid HELP)

Hey so look this is an election year in the United States. I know a lot of you guys don’t like Biden and if I’m being honest I don’t like him much either, but if Trump wins, HE WILL PARDON HIMSELF FOR HIS CRIMES.

This is not a “might” it’s a WILL.

So he CANNOT win. Biden may not be any use in fixing things, but it’s literally anything so trump can’t pardon himself.

Don’t fucking abstain from voting because you don’t like Biden. And don’t fucking listen to those people telling you to split the liberal vote by voting third party. I’m half convinced they’re conservatives trying to break our base so we can’t win.

Maybe next election. But NOT THIS ONE. Not when the far right are doing everything they can to delay trump’s hearing.

I’m fucking begging you guys. Please. If you’re over 18 and live in the United States, register to vote and vote this November for whoever the fuck the democrat on the ballot is. I don’t care if you don’t like them. Third party, if you insist on it, is for next election once trump has had his trial.

I get it. “Not letting things get worse” is pretty damn depressing to vote for. But it’s what we’ve got. So keep doing everything else—donate, protest, write letters and emails…but back all that up with a vote for the blue.

Voting is a tourniquet on a wound. It won’t fix the problem. But it keeps you alive until things can REALLY be fixed.

Btw Israel let Palestinians celebrate not one (1) holiday in peace. They didn’t grant Christian Palestinians access to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, they actively attacked families who were already starving at Iftar during Ramadan, and now there are several reports of families being killed on Eid al-Fitr—a sacred multi-day holiday practiced by lots of Arabs. It breaks my heart imagining the Palestinian families in Gaza right now, most of whom are spending Eid mourning loved ones who were taken by Israeli strikes. Most of us will never understand the sheer magnitude of that pain.

Every mainstream media outlet imaginable wants you to know that Israel has just re-opened the Erez border, thereby allowing aid through it for the first time since October 7. The White House released a statement saying that it’s delighted to hear this news. It’s a great improvement from previous arrangements, reports state.

What they fail to mention is that now 30% of all Palestinian children under 2 in Gaza are malnourished, that the death toll has surpassed 33k, and that the US—the same superpower that’s telling Israel to protect the civilians—has signed off billions in weapons to Israel not even a month ago.
